Stewards approved the following jockeys to ride overweight.

Race 1: GOLD COAST SPRING CARNIVAL ON SALE QTIS 3-Y-O Maiden Handicap 1100 metres
 
KOBE LAD – Blundered on jumping.
 
CLUSTER'S REIN – Trainer K Stabe was fined $100 pursuant to LR67 for failing to declare a rider on the horse by the prescribed time. Slow to begin. Taken wider rounding the home turn when ENOLBA shifted out. Rider L Allen was reminded of her obligations to ride her mounts out to the end of the race.
 
DIRTY DANCING – Bumped at the start. Taken wider rounding the home turn when ENOLBA shifted out.
 
HUMOUR ME – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Approaching the 200m bumped with HULKAMANIA which shifted out to improve.
 
WAREHAM – Jumped out at the start and bumped DIRTY DANCING. When asked to comment on the performance rider J Taylor advised that the horse was not suited by today’s track conditions and would be better suited in races over a longer distance than that of today.
 
 
Race 2: NEW MEMBERSHIP SEASON NOW AVAILABLE Maiden Handicap 1100 metres
 
LION KING – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight proving difficult to ride out. Rider J Adams was reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts out to the end of the race.
 
FABULOUS THINKER – Fractious after being loaded into the barriers.
 
SUMNAMILLA – Slow to begin.
 
ROSE GISELLE – As R Wiggins was delayed arriving on course due to transport issues, Stewards permitted J Taylor to ride the horse.
 
THE BURGER – Raced wide in the early and middle stages of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to have bled from both nostrils for the first time. Trainer J Phelan was advised the THE BURGER would be stood down from racing pursuant to AR79(4) for a period of 3 months and must gallop 1000m in the presence of a Steward prior to its next race start.
 
ALL PROPHET – Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
 
Race 3: HOPSCOTCH DIGITAL BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1700 metres
 
NORTHERN WOODS – Trainer C Munce was fined $100 pursuant to LR67 for failing to declare a rider on the horse by the prescribed time.
 
AL SAHARA – After being caught wide in the early stages was restrained to a rearward position with cover. When asked to comment on the performance rider J Adams reported after being caught wide in the early stages AL SAHARA settled further back in the field than anticipated, and due to the moderate tempo during the early and middle stages of the event, was obliged to come wider on the track rounding the home turn and finished the race off fairly.
 
ARGYLE BELLE – Slow to begin. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the home straight until a point near the 150m.
 
NORDIC SHOW – Held up approaching the home turn.
 
VALUE ABBEY – Raced wide in the early and middle stages of the event.
 
WAIKATO – Improved onto the heels of BULLET HERO approaching the finish line and obliged to steady.
 
Following the running of this event the track was downgraded to a Soft 7.
 
 
 
Race 4: CONXION Class 1 Handicap 1200 metres
 
TRICOLOGY – When asked to comment on the performance rider T Brooker stated the horse hung in for the majority of the event and failed to handle the prevailing track conditions.
 
UNCLE BUD – Raced wide without cover throughout the event.
 
CAPITAL MISS – Began awkwardly. Held up approaching the home turn.
 
ROCKIN' ARTIE – Lost near fore plate in running. When asked to comment on the performance rider L Dittman stated after losing the near fore plate in the middle stages the horse failed to respond to his riding from that point, adding that ROCKIN' ARTIEalsofailed to handle the prevailing track conditions.
 
BYRON EYES – Held up approaching the home turn.
 
CHRYSLA – Jumped out at thestart contacting the outside barrier partition and becoming unbalanced for a short distance. Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
Following the running of this event the track was downgraded to a Heavy 8.
 
 
 
Race 5: SKYPOINT Maiden Handicap 1350 metres
 
On arrival at the barriers the visors on THE GREY PANTHER shifted, partially obscuring the horses’ vision which presented a safety issue to both horse and rider and could not be refitted. THE GREY PANTHER was subsequently declared a late scratching at 2:09pm by order of Stewards. On declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered all bets on THE GREY PANTHER refunded in full and the following deductions to apply:
 
1st BITTER ROMANCE – 5c win, 10c place
2nd VIKING FOREVER – 11c place
3rd SWANIC BOOM – 6c place
 
As a result, this event was delayed approximately 3 minutes.
 
 
SPILL THE SECRET – Raced wide for the majority of the event. When asked to comment on the performance rider R Jamieson reported the horse the horse hung out rounding the home turn and did not appreciate the prevailing track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities, and a swab sample was taken from SPILL THE SECRET.
 
ZAFARANA – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
BITTER ROMANCE – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
Following the running of this event the track was downgraded to a Heavy 9.
 
 
Race 6: OAKS HOTELS & RESORTS Maiden Handicap 1350 metres
 
THE BIG STAR – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
NINA ARTIE – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
MAC MONTY – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
LAMMER (NZ) – Slow to begin.
 
MUST – Laid in under pressure at the entrance to the home straight and bumped REDHEAD ROCKS, and a short distance later when struck with the whip to correct near the 250m, shifted out abruptly despite the efforts of its rider resulting in AVENUE OF HEAVEN being severely checked and blundering. MUST continued to race greenly for the remainder of the home straight.
 
REDHEADS ROCK – Bumped by MUST at the entrance to the home straight.
 
AVENUE OF HEAVEN – Severely checked and blundered near the 250m. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
BETCHA BABY – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
Following the running of this event Stewards met with a delegation of riders who were consulted regarding track safety and visibility issues, with all parties happy for the meeting to proceed, to be reviewed on a race-by-race basis.
 
Race 7: VILLAGE ROADSHOW THEME PARKS OPEN Handicap 1200 metres
 
GOGOL – Raced wide for the majority of the event. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight and near the 100m rider T See momentarily lost use of the offside rein, momentarily placing him at some disadvantage.
 
DUBAI TYCOON – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
ABDICATING – Became unbalanced in the heavy conditions when placed under pressure near the 450m and lost ground.
 
NUDGE BAR – Rider C Robertson reported the horse failed to handle the prevailing heavy track conditions.
 
SHIRAZZLE – Crowded between runners on jumping and lost ground.
 
 
Race 8: SKYDIVE AUSTRALIA Class 3 Plate 1350 metres
 
PIERINO – Bumped with PRINCESS ZEDDY on jumping. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
TOLKOWSKY – At the request of trainer B Lockwood, declared a late scratching at 3:01pm due to the prevailing wet track conditions.
 
INDISCREETLY – At the request of trainer D Bougoure, declared a late scratching at 3:01pm due to the prevailing wet track conditions.
 
PRINCESS ZEDDY – Bumped with PIERINO on jumping.
 
DRAIOCHTA – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
 
Race 9: SEA WORLD CRUISES BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1350 metres
 
RARI – Reared at the start and lost significant ground.
 
RAPIDO GRIS – Jumped out at the start.
 
EARLY CROW – Reared at the start and lost significant ground. A short distance later bumped heavily with APATAKI resulting in both runners becoming unbalanced.
 
AVENUE OF STARS – Began awkwardly, shifted in and lost ground.When asked to comment on tactics to lead today, rider J Guthmann-Chester explained instructions from the good barrier were to settle in a midfield position however after beginning well, and with no pace shown from other runners, he elected to allow the horse to settle in forward position, adding that AVENUE OF STARS had previously performed well on rain affected tracks. Stewards accepted the explanation of J Guthmann-Chester.
 
APATAKI (NZ) – After beginning awkwardly, was then crowded between runners, checked and lost ground.A short distance later bumped heavily with EARLY CROW resulting in both runners becoming unbalanced.
