QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT GOLD COAST TURF CLUB AQUIS PARK – SATURDAY 3RD SEPTEMBER 2022 WEATHER – Showers TRACK RATING – Heavy 10 RAIL – +1.5m Entire CoursePENETROMETER – 6.23 OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – D Aurisch Stewards – C Simpson, P ReardonClerk of Scales – D McMahonJudge – S McMahonVeterinarian – N GaskelSwab Attendants – K KilpatrickStarter – K Watson GENERALStewards approved the following overweight allowances at today’s meeting- Race 1- WANDILLA – C Bayliss – +1kg Race 1: THE PALMS ON SALE NOW Maiden Handicap 1700 metres THE GREY PANTHER – After becoming fractious in the barriers THE GREY PANTHER was declared a late scratching by order of the stewards acting on veterinary advice at 12:41pm. Upon the declaration of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on THE GREY PANTHER be refunded with the following deductions to apply- 1st – 5c the win, 5c the place2nd – 9c the place3rd – 8c the place JAKAT – Jumped awkwardly. Bumped by A DEEL OF HUMOUR near the 200m and had to be eased. ENTERPRISE FUSE – Jockey M Hellyer reported that his mount didn’t handle the track. REGIMENTAL MUSIC – Inconvenienced at the start. Inconvenienced when tightened for room near the 200m. A DEEL OF HUMOUR – Near the 200m, shifted in under pressure and bumped JAKAT. Jockey L Allen was advised to show greater care when shifting ground. COCO JEWEL – Raced three-wide for majority of the race. Forced to shift out by A DEEL OF HUMOUR near the 800m. IDONO – Jumped awkwardly and bumped REGIMETAL MUSIC. Jockey W D’Avila reported that his saddle shifted back preventing him to ride the horse to the line in his normal manner. WANDILLA – Raced three-wide early before being allowed to stride forward by its rider to take up the leading position near the 1300m. NO MORE RED – Apprentice Williams was reminded to at all times ride his mount to the end of the race. Apprentice Williams was fined $300 for failing to claim his full amount. AR143(14)(a) Race 2: FRIENDS OF TRINITY FOUNDATION Maiden Handicap 1100 metres The start was delayed when ISLAND MAGIC had to be resaddled. There was a further delay when BONGANI had to have its tounge-tie refitted. PLAINTIFF'S FRIEND – Raced three-wide throughout. PRINCE OF MARAKESH – Raced three-wide with cover for the majority. BONGANI – Was inclined to lay out from the 800m to the 400m. Race 3: 3 GC TROPICS RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 1350 metres SAN PIERRE – Began awkwardly and bumped with BYRON EYES. BYRON EYES – Bumped on jumping. Race 4: PLATINUM STANDARD GRADING RATINGS BAND 0 – 58 Handicap 1350 metres GEM OF THE LOCHS – Declared a late scratching at 12:24pm due to transportation issues. NORTH ROCKS – Raced wide for the majority of the event. REBEL LEADER – Began awkwardly. Race 5: COMMERCIAL 1 PROPERTY MANAGEMENT BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 2200 metres QUOTANT – Lame in the near foreleg and declared a late scratching at 2:09pm. SAINT MARTIN – Raced three-wide early. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. HARVESTA – Over raced in the early and middle stages. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. MAGIC MIKEY – Jumped away awkwardly. Jockey J Taylor reported that it was his intention to settle closer, but after beginning poorly he settled at the rear of the field. JABBAR – Trainer J Gilmore was reprimanded for allowing his horse to leave the course early. AR165(3) Race 6: AIM FINANCIAL Class 3 Plate 1200 metres MIRACLE DAY – Slow to begin. KINGSCOTE – Brushed with another horse in the home straight. UNCLE BUD – Inclined to lay in soon after straightening in the home straight. CONCEALED DYNAMITE – Slow to begin. Race 7: EDEN ACADEMY Class 1 Plate 1100 metres CAPTIVARE – Declared a late scratching at 2:44pm due to transportation issues. UNO MOON – Began very awkwardly and lost ground. NICCI DE ROSA – Jockey L Allen reported that her mount failed to handle the heavy track conditions. RALPHIE – Over raced in the early and middle stages. Trainer G Dougherty reported that he may remove the blinkers. Race 8: COMMERCIAL 1 GOLD COAST BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1100 metres COSMIC SERENADE – Became fractious in the mounting yard and reared over, dislodging its rider. On arrival at the barriers COSMIC SERENADE was examined by the veterinary surgeon passed fit to run. EXCEL IN THE SUN – A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor post-race recovery.
