QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT GOLD COAST TURF CLUB GOLD COAST – SATURDAY 29 OCTOBER 2022 WEATHER –FINE TRACK RATING – GOOD 4 RAIL – +1m 1800M- 350M; TRUE REMAINDERPENETROMETER – 4.61 OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – R Hitchener Stewards – J Williamson, P Reardon, D McMahonClerk of Scales – S CoulthardJudge – S McMahon, G Anderson, S MallyonVeterinarian – Dr N GaskelSwab Attendants – K Kilpatrick, A ChallenStarter – K Watson GENERAL Stewards approved the following overweight allowances at today’s meeting- Race 2- BIG HITTER- A Allen- +1/2kg Race 2- DUNOON- M Butler- +1kgRace 4- SEA COMMITS- +1/2kg Race 4- AMANECER- T See- +1/2kg Race 8- TAURIDS- L Dittman- +1/2kg Stewards excepted the explanations from trainers in relation to their late rider notifications at today’s meeting. Race 1: SKY RACING Class 1 Handicap 900 metres DOCTOR JACK – Tightened for room at the start. During the middle stages, raced ungenerously whilst being restrained and when leaving the 200m, improved onto the heels of a tiring runner and was checked. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer H Norman was advised that a warning was issued against the geldings racing manners. JAMAICAN RUMBA – Blundered on jumping resulting in the rider becoming unbalanced. EMMA ROSA – Blundered on jumping. Bled both nostrils during the event. As this was the second occasion on which the mare had bled from both nostrils, it would now incur a life ban from racing. ONE 'N' ONLY – Hung out for the majority. Near the 300m, was steadied to avoid the heels of I’M A FOXYGIRL which shifted out after being taken wider by RAYOCK which shifted out to secure clear running. Jockey A Allen, the rider of RAYOCK was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. Jockey S Galloway expressed disappointment in the performance of the filly however in his opinion, hanging out during the event and further suffering interference near the 300m, were the major contributing factors in the horse’s performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor post-race recovery. SIRIANNI – Bumped on the hind quarters on jumping. Race 2: 90.9 SEA FM GET THAT FEELING Class 4 Handicap1700 metres The start of this race was initially delayed to allow the broadcast of an interstate event. The start was further delayed when ICE ELITE proved somewhat difficult to load. IRISH HOMIE – Over raced during the middle stages. Hung in under pressure in the home straight. BARRYMORE – Over raced during the middle stages. Momentarily steadied near the 200m. ICE ELITE – Slow to begin. BIG HITTER – As jockey T See was to be overweight, he was replaced as the rider of the mare by jockey A Allen. Subsequently, jockey See was fined $100 for accepting a ride when overweight. AR190(3). DUNOON – Passing the 1600m, whilst racing keenly was steadied to avoid the heels of BARRYMORE which shifted in when not completely clear. Jockey L Allen, the rider of BARRYMORE was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. Race 3: 90.9 SEA FM BIANCA, BEN & LAKEY OPEN Handicap1200 metres DARK EURO – Blundered on jumping, resulting in the rider almost being dislodged. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor post-race recovery. Race 4: 90.9 SEA FM ALPHABUCKS Maiden Handicap1200 metres The start of this race was initially delayed to allow the broadcast of an interstate event. The start was further delayed when CALL ME MARILYN proved somewhat difficult to load. MORE CHOICE – Near the 1000m, steadied when placed in restricted room. On returning to scale, jockey R Fradd reported that his mount raced greenly and near the 400m, put in a number of awkward strides and felt uncomfortable in its action. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. POET'S DAY – Over raced in the early and middle stages. SHEER ILLUSION – Momentarily steadied in the early stages of the home straight when attempting to shift out to secure clear running. TEQUILA SHOTS – Slow to begin. TUBTHUMPER – Hampered on jumping. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be exhibiting signs of heat stress for which it was treated. CALL ME MARILYN – Began awkwardly. AMANECER – Near the 1000m, steadied when placed in restricted room. Race 5: 92.5 TRIPLE M - GOOD TIMES & GREATEST HITS Class 2Plate 1100 metres DARK HORSE – On returning to scale, Jockey N Callow reported that the gelding failed to sprint as he had expected when placed under pressure in the home straight which in his opinion may have been attributed to the firm racing surface. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. ZA HIDDEN DRAGON – Near the 200m, when commencing to weaken, raced in restricted room and was eased when runners either side shifted ground. BOHO BEAUTY – Held up rounding the home turn. Race 6: 92.5 TRIPLE M BREAKFAST WITH FLAN, ALI & SPIDA QTIS Three-Year-Old Mai 1350 metres SUBSTANCE – Raced greenly throughout. Jockey M Murphy dropped his whip near the 150m. UNDER THE LIMIT – Bumped on jumping. GLENEAGLE MISSILE – Slow into stride. Race 7: TRIPLE M'S $1000 MINUTE Fillies and Mares BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1350 metres HOT BANANAS – Over raced in the early stages. VIENNA EMPRESS – Raced three-wide for the majority. THINK I'M DREAMING – Began awkwardly losing ground. DIAMOND DAGGER – Slow to begin. IN GREAT NIC – After being caught wide in the early stages, was allowed to stride forward by its rider to obtain a position outside the leader at the 700m. Race 8: LISTNR Colts, Geldings and Entires BENCHMARK 62Handicap 1350 metres MIO SORRENTO – Performed below market expectations. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. ROMAN HEIR – Stood flat footed and lost ground. Raced wide without cover from the 900m. CONTRERAS – Proved difficult to restrain whilst over racing for some distance in the middle stages. DARCHINIAN – Slow to begin. HARDLEY GREY – Jockey R Fradd reported that in his opinion the gelding raced flat today and may have come to the end of its preparation. TAURIDS – Laid out rounding the home turn. SPRITES – After beginning well, obtained the leading position and as a result settled further forward than anticipated.
