GENERAL
 
Stewards approved the following overweight allowances at today’s meeting-
 
Race 6- FEDERAL AGENT- C Robertson +1kg.
Race 7- ROSE OF TAORMINA- C Bayliss + 1/2kg.
 
Race 1: GOLD COAST TITANS QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Plate 900 metres
 
MISHANI EAGLE – Buffeted between runners shortly after the start and as a result lost ground.
 
MISHANI FLASH – Raced wide throughout.
 
DETROIT GIRL – Cast its near fore plate in running.
 
ELOHEH – Cast its off fore plate in running. Raced keenly in the middle stages and was held up rounding the home turn.
 
Race 2: TITAN GARAGES & SHEDS Maiden Handicap 1100 metres
 
CONTROLLED KAOS – Slow to begin. Near the 150m, momentarily raced in restricted room when KOURNIKOVA shifted in. J Murphy the rider of KOURNOKOVA was reminded to exercise greater care.
 
NANO STAR – Raced in restricted room whilst being restrained for some distance in the early stages before being checked to avoid the heels of KOURNIKOVA which shifted in when not completely clear near the 900m. Over raced during the middle stages.
 
CAPITAL GIRL – Slow to begin.
 
KOURNIKOVA – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Near the 50m, steadied momentarily when awkwardly placed at the heels of CONTROLLED KAOS which shifted out. M Harley the rider of CONTROLLED KAOS was reminded to exercise greater care.
 
YANKEE BLOSSOM – Passing the 200m, steadied momentarily when awkwardly placed at heels.
 
Following the running of this event, the track was upgraded to a good 3.
 
Race 3: TITANS TOGETHER Maiden Handicap 1100 metres
 
BIG ROCAS – After being kicked behind the barriers, BIG ROCAS was declared a late scratching by order of the stewards acting on veterinary advice at 1:27pm. Upon the declaration of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on BIG ROCAS be refunded with the following deductions to apply- 
 
1st – 0c the win, 1c the place
2nd – 4c the place
3rd – 6c the place
 
BENEDICT ARNOLD – When asked to comment on the performance of the gelding, jockey R Wiggins reported that the gelding travelled strongly during the early and middle stages however when asked to quicken in the home straight, had a tendency to hang in and proved difficult to ride out particularly over the final 100m. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. A swab sample was taken. A warning was issued against the geldings racing manners.
 
EASY COMPANY – Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
RUBY DIAMOND – Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
Race 4: XXXX QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1200 metres
 
HATTUSA – Hampered at the start and then was slow to muster speed.
 
STORM THE FORTRESS – Raced three-wide without cover throughout.
 
WHISTLING SPIRIT – Began awkwardly.
 
PUSH TURBO – A post-race veterinary examination revealed a minor abrasion to the near hindleg consistent with having been galloped on.

LADY FALVELON – Hampered at the start.HHH
 
 
 
Race 5: CORPSURE QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1350 metres
 
EASILY AMUSED – Began awkwardly.
 
KINTAMANI – Began awkwardly.
 
SHADYVALE STORM – Held up rounding the home turn. Near the 200m, momentarily steadied when POET’S DAY shifted out under pressure. Jockey C Robertson, the rider of POET’S DAY was advised to exercise greater care.eH
 
CHAYSE 'N' STORMS – Bumped shortly after the start and lost ground.
 
Race 6: CORPSURE BENCHMARK 68 Handicap 1350 metres
 
AVENUE OF STARS – Jumped with its head in the air at the start and lost ground. Jockey J Guthmann-Chester reported that the geldings best form is on wet tracks and that in his opinion it was not suited by the firm racing surface today.
 
HEMSWORTH – Near the 50m, when commencing to weaken, was checked to avoid heels. At a subsequent inquiry jockeys L Dittman (JUBAI PRIDE) and J Grisedale (PRIDE OF PYINGERRA), which were racing either side of HEMSWORTH were both reprimanded for permitting their mounts to shift ground, contributing to HEMSWORTH being checked at this point of the race.
 
FEDERAL AGENT – Slow to begin.
 
Race 7: CORPSURE Class 2 Handicap 1300 metres
 
KINGSCOTE – When asked to comment on the performance of the gelding, jockey G Cartwright reported that in her opinion the large weight the gelding was required to carry combined with the step up in distance to 1300m, were the major contributing factors to the below market expectation performance. Cast its off-fore plate in running. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
JETFOIL – Jockey J Taylor reported that the gelding would be better suited in races over a greater distance than that of todays event and further was not suited by the firm racing surface.
 
SMART STAR PRINCE – Knuckled on jumping.
 
JIMMY NEUTRON – Slow to begin. Steadied from heels shortly after the start.
 
Race 8: BECOME A TITANS MEMBER OPEN Handicap 1200 metres
 
 
SKINS – Tightened for room at the start. Jockey R Fradd reported that after being tightened for room at the start, he was forced to race in a rearward position, however the gelding travelled comfortably throughout the event. Jockey Fradd went onto state that after shifting to the outside on straightening to improve, the gelding failed to quicken as he had expected and ran on only reasonably over the concluding stages.
 
COLPO DI TAMBURO – Put in an awkward stride shortly after the start.
 
KINGSTON'S HERE – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
MORT DOYLE – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
HIGH COST – Raced three-wide without cover throughout.
 
PIVOTAL MOTION – Began awkwardly.
