GENERAL Stewards approved the following overweight allowance at today’s meeting- Race 1- CAIRDEAS- J Guthmann-Chester +1/2kg. Race 1: AMALGAMATED PROPERTY GC Maiden Plate 1700 metres READY ENABLE – After being caught wide in the early stages, was ridden forward by its rider in an endeavour to obtain a position closer to the rails, however, was prevented from doing so by other runners and as a result raced wide without cover for the remainder. BRAMBLE BAY – Near the 1100m, when the pace of the race steadied, improved onto heels and was eased. SHORES OF GOLD – Slow into stride. After being caught wide in the early stages, was ridden forward by its rider to obtain the leading position passing the 1300m. SILVER SPURS – Slow to begin. CAIRDEAS – Near the 1100m, when the pace of the race steadied, improved onto heels and was eased. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have an abrasion on the right foreleg, consistent with having been galloped on. ELMITA – Near the 1100m, when the pace of the race steadied, improved onto heels and was eased. NGOZI – Raced ungenerously whilst being restrained in the early stages. Raced greenly throughout and hung out rounding the home turn. Race 2: APM CONSTRUCTION SOLUTIONS Maiden Plate 1100 metres MAGURO – Slow to begin. MISSION TO WIN – Began awkwardly, losing ground. Jockey L Allen reported that her mount raced greenly throughout the event. BRIGHT TIARA – Near the 150m, momentarily steadied to avoid the heels of BULLET FORCE which shifted out under pressure. Jockey D Peisley, the rider of BULLET FORCE was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) as a result of this incident. Race 3: APS PROJECT EARTH Maiden Plate 1100 metres ART HEIST – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. Cast its off-fore plate in running. DOUBLE COCO – Momentarily steadied to avoid heels near the 150m. SUPER SHARES – Raced ungenerously whilst being restrained in the early stages. KING OF WANCHAI – Began awkwardly. Held up for a short distance entering the home straight. Had difficulty obtaining clear running over the final 150m, and went to the line without being fully tested. TOOLATEMATE – Began awkwardly. Raced ungenerously during the middle stages. Had some difficulty obtaining clear running for the majority of the home straight, and went to the line without being fully tested. AKASHI – Near the 150m, inconvenienced when bumped by another runner. CHILLING ME SOFTLY – Raced ungenerously whilst being restrained in the early stages. Race 4: AMALGAMATED PAINTING Class 4 Plate 1350 metres ROYAL EXIT – Raced ungenerously whilst being restrained in the early stages. Laid out under pressure in the home straight. ZOUKINA – Slow to begin. MORIOKA – Slow to begin. Race 5: AMALGAMATED REFURBISHMENTS Fillies and Mares Class 2Plate 1100 metres DAWN COLOURS – Near the 1000m, momentarily steadied. GEE BEE ESS – Slow to begin. Had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the home straight. LADY SHANGHAI – Began awkwardly. PARADISE ISLAND – Near the 1000m, was steadied to avoid heels. I'M A FOXYGIRL – Jockey M Hellyer reported that the mare felt short in its action on returning to scale. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in both forelegs. Trainer P Baron was advised that she would be required to obtain veterinary certificate for the mare prior to it next racing. RUSSIAN QUEEN – Slow to muster early speed. Raced three-wide. On returning to scale, jockey J Guthmann-Chester reported that the filly raced flat today, however beyond this could offer no tangible explanation for the below market expectation performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. MAROON MAGIC – Jockey L Allen reported that her mount hung out in the home straight. Jockey L Allen was reprimanded for using her whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100m. AR132(7)(a)(ii). MISS WALLFLOWER – Slow to begin. Race 6: AMALGAMATED REMEDIAL Colts, Geldings and Entires Class 2 Plate 1100 metres GREEN LEGEND – Jockey A Spinks was reprimanded for using his whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m. AR132(7)(a)(ii). MAGIC RULER – Over raced in the early stages, proving difficult to restrain despite the riders efforts to do so. INJUSTICE – Began awkwardly and dipped shortly after the start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from one nostril. Trainer V Venkaya was advised that the gelding would be required to gallop 1000m in the presence of stewards prior to next racing. Race 7: JP FLYING QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1200 metres CORFE CASTLE – Jockey A Allen was reprimanded for using his whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100m. AR132(7)(a)(ii). SHAQUILA – Leaving the 900m, steadied to avoid heels. Approaching the 800m, was again steadied when awkwardly placed at heels. THE VOWELS – Slow to begin. When asked to comment on the performance of the gelding, jockey J Guthmann-Chester advised that the gelding dwelt at the start and then failed to muster early speed. Jockey Guthmann-Chester added that despite his urgings the gelding trailed the field during the middle stages, however when placed under full pressure in the home straight it made reasonable late ground and was not entirely disappointed with the performance. WYATT RIVER – Slow to begin. Race 8: AMALGAMATED WINDOWS RATINGS BAND 0 - 60 Handicap1350 metres POLE VOLTER- Declared a late scratching at 9:20am for reasons deemed acceptable by Stewards. PERNELL – Held up for a short distance rounding the home turn. HOT PROFIT – Near the 950m whilst racing keenly, improved onto heels and was checked. For some distance in the middle stages continued to over race. Held up rounding the home turn. THINK I'M DREAMING – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have bled from one nostril. Trainer J Smerdon was advised that the mare would be required to gallop 1000m in the presence of stewards prior to next racing.
