GENERAL

Stewards approved the following overweight allowances at tonight’s meeting:
 
Race 4 – BEL AIR – Kyle Wilson-Taylor +1kg (54kg)
Race 4 – ZOU SENSATION – Daniel Stackhouse +1kg (55kg)
Race 5 – BAUHINIA – Tommy Berry +1kg (55kg)
Race 6 – LEFT FIELD – Josh Parr +0.5kg (56kg)
 
 
The track was upgraded to a Good 4 at 12:30pm.
 
Race 1: QUEENSLAND MAGIC MILLIONS SUBZERO 2200M
 
LOCH EAGLE – Raced wide throughout. When asked to comment on the performance, jockey J. Collett advised that the gelding may not have run out the 2200m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have the thumps.
 
SKY LAB – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Made the turn awkward passing the winning post on the first occasion. Raced wide in the early stages before striding forward to take up the leading position at the 1000m.
 
GOLD BULLION (NZ) – Near the 1600m, laid in and brushed the running rail.
 
BELVEDERE BOYS – Slow to begin. Obliged to alter course near the 200m.
 
TANNHAUSER – Raced wide in the early stages before being permitted to stride forward to lead at the 1300m.
 
SO UNITED – Laid in for a short distance approaching the 1000m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
WAVERLEY – Resaddled on arrival at the barriers.
 
CONEY ISLAND BABY – Over raced for a short distance near the 1300m.
 
Race 2:  THE STAR GOLD COAST MAGIC MILLIONS 2YO CLASSIC 1200M

QUIETLY ARROGANT – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
GALLO NERO – Began awkwardly and bumped shortly after with winner. Momentarily inconvenienced passing the 1000m when racing to the inside of INVINCIBLE WOMAN.
 
LUVA FLUTTA – Bumped on jumping. Raced in restricted room near the 1000m.
 
COOL ARCHIE – Raced wide throughout.
 
ICARIAN DREAM – Raced four wide without cover throughout.
 
VEIN GIRL – Began awkwardly and bumped at the start.
 
LA BELLA BOOM – Raced keenly in the early stages. When asked to comment on the performance, jockey C. Williams reported his mount over raced and had a tendency to hang out. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer T. Gollan advised that the filly would now be sent for a spell.
 
INVINCIBLE WOMAN – Raced in restricted room for a short distance passing the 1000m to the inside of COOL ARCHIE (M. Harley) which shifted in before being corrected. Jockey M. Harley was severely reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) for this incident. Passing the 800m, commenced to over race and was steadied from heels of COOL ARCHIE. When asked to comment on the performance, jockey D. Lane reported his mount became worked up in the preliminary which he believes was detrimental the filly’s overall performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor recovery.
 
THE PLAYWRIGHT – Knuckled at the start. Became awkward in its stride after racing in restricted room near the 200m when O’OLE shifted in marginally.
 
MEMO – Momentarily inconvenienced passing the 1000m when racing to the inside of GALLO NERO. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight.
 
FORMULA ROSSA – When asked to comment on the performance, jockey A. Jones reported that in her opinion the filly had come to the end of its preparation. Trainer T. Gollan advised that the filly would now be sent for a spell.
 
DON'TDOUBTHELADY – Hampered at the start between QUIETLY ARROGANT which shifted out and FORMULA ROSSA which shifted in.
 
FORGOTTEN SPIRIT – Bumped on jumping. Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
Race 3: HOWDEN MAGIC MILLIONS SNIPPETS 1200M
 
The start of this race was delayed when PRINCE OF BOOM broke through the barriers prior to the start, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
 
CANNONBALL – Carried wider passing the 800m. Over raced in the middle stages.
 
IRISH SONGS – Began awkwardly. Obliged to steady passing the 1000m, to avoid the heels of BAROQUE ROAD (A. Adkins) which shifted in to obtain cover. Jockey A. Adkins severely reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a).
 
HARD TO SAY – Over raced in the early and middle stages.
 
PRINCE OF BOOM – Jockey J. Orman reported the gelding put in a few awkward strides during the middle stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
HEDGED – Over raced in the middle stages and passing the 800m had to be restrained after improving onto the heels of HARD TO SAY, resulting in the gelding shifting out and carrying CANNONBALL and GOLDSBOROUGH wider.
 
NETTUNO – Momentarily held up for clear running rounding the home turn. Passing the 50m, disappointed for a run between HEDGED and CANNONBALL, and became awkwardly placed on heels approaching the winning post.
 
LAVISH EMPIRE – Slow to begin.
 
GOLDSBOROUGH (NZ) – Began awkwardly and hampered shortly after the start. Carried wider passing the 800m. Raced wide throughout.
 
SHALAILED – Cast its near-hind plate in running.
 
BAROQUE ROAD – Passing the 900m, after shifting in to obtain cover, commenced to over race and continued to over race throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor recovery.
 
ECONOMICS – Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 4: MAGIC MILLIONS CUP (WEIGHTS RAISED 1KG) 1400M
 
ABOUNDING – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
CHRYSAOR – At a point approaching the 700m, hampered when tightened for room by PERFECT THOUGHT which was carried in by FREAK OF NATURE (D. Thornton) which shifted in before being corrected. Jockey D. Thornton was severely reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) for this incident.
 
CHARM STONE – Cast its near fore plate in running.
 
BUILLT – Near the 700m, raced in restricted room for a number of strides. Held up rounding the home turn until a point near the 150m.
 
ZOU SENSATION – Raced wide throughout. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
FREAK OF NATURE – Raced wide throughout.
 
ARTS OBJECT – Raced wide throughout.
 
PERFECT THOUGHT – Shifted in at the start, taking in CINQUE TORRI onto REDFORD. Over raced in the early stages. Momentarily inconvenienced on entering the home straight and became awkwardly placed on heels of CHRYSAOR.
 
CINQUE TORRI – Taken in at the start. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight. Passing the 250m, had to be restrained after becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of REDFORD which shifted out.
 
REDFORD – Taken in at the start and clipped the heels of ZOU SENSATION. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have cardiac arrhythmia. Trainer S. Kendrick was advised that the  gelding would require a veterinary clearance, inclusive of results of an ECG and would also require a cardiac auscultation performed by a veterinarian following a gallop, trial or jump out of 1000m to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to next racing.
 
ADDRIEL – Near the 700m, raced in restricted room for a number of strides.

Race 5: GOLD COAST MAGIC MILLIONS 3YO GUINEAS 1400M
 
BITTERCREEK – Began awkwardly and as a result was slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
GIVE ME SPACE – Began awkwardly.
 
DEPTH OF CHARACTER – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.
 
SNITZANOVA – Over raced in the early stages.
 
KING OF ROSEAU – Began awkwardly. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight.
 
BAUHINIA – Began awkwardly. Over raced in the early and middle stages. Jockey T. Berry reported the filly didn’t travel comfortably and became awkward rounding the home turn. Cast its off-fore plate in running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be coughing. Co-trainer C. Curtis advised Stewards that the filly would have an endoscopic examination in the subsequent days and would report back with any results.
 
ZOUBABY – Cast its near-hind plate in running.
 
YES LULU – Inconvenienced and carried wider on entering the home straight when KING OF ROSEAU (V. Duric) shifted out abruptly. Jockey V. Duric was severely reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) for this incident.
 
ARRIVING HOME – Raced keenly in the middle stages.
 
HELL TO PAY – Hampered and lost ground approaching the 700m when HELLA FAST (K. Wilson-Taylor) shifted in and away from SNITZANOVA before being corrected.
 
BOLLINGER MISS – Slow to begin.
 
Race 6: TAB MAGIC MILLIONS FILLIES & MARES 1300M
 
REVOLUTIONARY MISS – Eased down from the 250m. Jockey B. Shinn reported that he became concerned with the action of the mare and for this reason elected to not place his mount under pressure in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer C. Maher was advised that the mare would be required to jumpout or trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to next racing. Trainer C. Maher advised Stewards that he would report back in the coming days on how the mare pulls up.
 
COUNTYOURBLESSINGS – Raced wide throughout.
 
ANAHITA – Slow to begin. Weakened noticeably in the home straight. Stable representative C. Duckworth was advised that the mare would be required to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to next racing.
 
NINGALOO STAR – Near the 50m, shifted out and bumped STAR ACT.
 
LEFT FIELD – Approaching the 100m, shifted out to avoid the weakening REVOLUTIONARY MISS and bumped SHE MINE, resulting in both runners becoming unbalanced.
 
DIRTY DANCING – Slow to begin. Leaving the 200m, shifted in to avoid the weakening REVOLUTIONARY MISS and bumped STAR ACT.
 
UNTIL VALHALLA – Began awkwardly and lost significant ground.
 
STAR ACT – Leaving the 200m, bumped by DIRTY DANCING. Near the 50m, bumped by NINGALOO STAR.
 
SHE MINE – Began awkwardly. Approaching the 100m, bumped by LEFT FIELD and became unbalanced.
 
TERRITORY ASH – Near the 1000m, raced in restricted room and had to be restrained when placed to the inside of DIRTY DANCING which shifted in before being corrected.
 
Race 7: RACING QUEENSLAND MAGIC MILLIONS QTIS OPEN 1300M

YELLOW BRICK – Over raced in the early and middle stages. When asked to comment on the performance, Co-Trainer T. Sears advised he was disappointed with the run but attributed the performance to the heavy weight and the gelding racing first up in this preparation. He added that he would report back to Stewards in the coming days on how the gelding pulls up.
 
CIFRADO – Held up rounding the home turn. Near the 300m, when shifting out to obtain clear running, bumped on several occasions with CORFE CASTLE.
 
CORFE CASTLE – Near the 300m, bumped on several occasions by CIFRADO.
 
SKIRT THE LAW – When attempting to shift to the rail near the 1200m, commenced to over race, clipped the heels of CORFE CASTLE and blundered. Near the 800m, became awkwardly placed on heels whilst over racing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the near-foreleg. Trainer T. Gollan was advised that the mare would require a veterinary certificate prior to next racing.
 
VIMINELE – Slow to begin.
 
BOHEMIAN LAD – Over raced in the middle stages.
