GLADSTONE TURF CLUB STEWARDS REPORT

STEWARDS PANEL: Don Macklyn (chairman)

WEATHER – Fine TRACK – Sand RAIL – True

RACE 1: Class 1 Hcp 850 mtrs (4 Starters)
Prior to running of this race trainer Allen Albert informed stewards that Claypan Dance was running a slight temperature when checked early this morning. Duty Free (M Lehmann) was slow away. Claypan Dance (T Kruger) failed to handle the sand surface and as a result was uncompetitive throughout the race.

RACE 2:Class 3 Hcp 1194 mtrs (5 Starters)
No racing incidents to report.

RACE 3: Maiden Hcp 1194 mtrs (7 Starters)
At the start Manedge (T Kruger) jumped inwards making heavy contact with Review Gold (D Rewald) who inturn made heavy contact with Countess Lou (N Nelson). Also at the start Quetzalass (Darren Rewald) jumped outwards. Tolt (T Mathieson) was inclined to hang outwards soon after the start was affected. Both Review Gold and Countess Lou raced awkwardly in the early stages as they resented the sand being thrown back by the leaders. Quetzalass (Darren Rewald) bled from both nostrils during the race and incurred the mandatory 3 months ban from racing. Quetzalass’s document of description was marked accordingly.

RACE 4:Class 5 Hcp 1000mtrs (5 Starters)
Master of Speed (M Barnham) was slow away.

RACE 5:Open Hcp 1000 mtrs (7 Starters)
Dashing Express (N Nelson) reared as the start was affected. The blinkers that were used on Brilynton (Darren Rewald) shifted downwards during the race covering the mares eyes.

All winner were sent to be swabbed with samples obtained forwarded to the Racing Science Centre for analysis.
