RACE 1: BUTLER & SONS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1194M

DUAN THEO- Raced wide throughout. Had to be steadied when tightened for room near the 1000m. App. Z. White was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground. Rider K. Aho dropped her whip entering the home straight.

GUNDY MAGIC- Raced wide throughout.


RACE 2: BOB LISLE CLASS B HANDICAP 1000M

Stewards accepted the explanation from trainer B. Murray for the late rider declaration of BYRON BABE.

Stewards declared ENDEAVOUR BAY a late scratching at 08:34 as there was no available rider.

WHYMEGOD- Began awkwardly. Hung out rounding the home turn.

GIDGEE COALS – Raced wide throughout.

CUBA ROSE – Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped another runner.

THAT PRETTY GIRL – On jumping was tightened for room and had to be steadied. Raced wide throughout.

DUFOUR- Near the 100m had to be steadied from heels of GIDGEE COALS which commenced to shift in under pressure. Rider S. McGovern was issued with a reprimand.

BYRON BABE- Tightened for room near the 100m.

CUBA ROSE – Weakened in the home straight and received tightening near the 100m.

RACE 3: HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY AMY HUGHES MAIDEN PLATE 850M

Stewards declared DAVEY a late scratching on vets advice at 13:32 when the gelding reared and hit its head in the horse stalls. Trainer D. Deans was advised that a vet clearance would be required prior to next start.

MISS VAN WISSE – Began with head in the air and lost considerable ground.

RACE 4: CARLTON MID BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 850M

JAMES IS BLONDE –Blundered almost dislodging jockey Sheargold. The gelding took no competitive part in the race. Post-race vet revealed no significant abnormalities.

BJORN – Slow to begin. Rider reported at scale that the gelding settled further back than anticipated, then commenced to resent the kickback and that the overall performance today was disappointing.

PIPIT – Slow to begin.

RACE 5: MERRY XMAS BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1517 M

FADED – Slow to muster speed. Weakened over the concluding stages.

THE CLANG AFFAIR – Rider reported that the gelding never handled the sand surface.

CLASPED- Slow to begin.

GO AS YOU PLEASE – Raced wide throughout.
