Race 1: Biralee Kindergarten Class 3 Plate 850m
 
Race 1 was delayed to allow Apprentice L Dodds to arrive on course.
 
ROWDY RONDA – Late declaration of rider was accepted by stewards. App. L Dodds was permitted to ride a half kilogram overweight due to no other available riders at or closer to the allotted weight. App. L Dodds reported that the horse was inclined to hang out during the middle stages.
 
FRENCH FLAME – Raced 3 wide throughout.
 
AND JUBILATIONS – Began a little awkwardly. Rider viewed the photo finish image for second prior to correct weight and was satisfied as to the judge’s placings.
 
Race 2: Gladstone Cup August 12th BenchMark 50 Handicap 1194m
 
ME AND YOU – Bled first time. Trainer advised that the horse would now be barred from racing for a period of 3 months and must pass a 1000m gallop prior to starting again.
 
Race 3: Vale Colin Barnham QTIS Maiden Handicap 1194m
 
RUN BABY RUN – Raced ungenerously in the early stages. Rider reported that the horse resented the sand kickback throughout.
 
NAVAEH – Jumped inward and made contact with another runner.
 
LUCKY TICKET – Slow into stride.
 
Race 4: Top Produce Open Handicap 1000m
 
JEB’S BOY – Began awkwardly.
 
MAH BAKER – When questioned regarding the performance, rider stated that the mare had got back further than expected after it resented the sand kickback in the middle stages. The rider further stated that when racing at the rear of the field it was placed under pressure and n the straight, responded to her riding and finished the race off well.
 
Race 5:  Dicey’s BenchMark 55 Handicap 1517m
 
DIAMOND RACER – Began awkwardly and lost some ground.
 
INACTION – Raced wide throughout.
 
YOU CAN”T BE – When questioned regarding the performance, Jockey R Faehr stated he had expected the horse to race well. Jockey Faehr was instructed to race in a forward position and was of the opinion that the horse may have had to work harder than he anticipated when BOXER raced to its outside in the early and middle stages.
