Race 1: Gladstone Harbour Festival Maiden Plate- 850 metres

MOONLIGHT DIAMOND- Underwent a pre-race veterinary inspection after a significant absence from racing. Cleared to start. Began very awkwardly and lost ground.

HIGH HUSSY- Began awkwardly.

HAMMERFEST- Jockey M Barnham was permitted to ride 3.5kg overweight when no other rider was available.

ROCKET ON GINGER- Knuckled on jumping.

Race 2: Salt Clothing Ratings 0-60 Handicap- 1000 metres

EXCELCAT- Jockey D Evans made application to be declared a non-runner. After viewing the available patrol footage, Stewards established that the gelding had opportunity to begin with the field, however Jockey Evans was unbalanced and as a result lost ground and raced at the rear of the field. The application was denied and the horse was declared a runner.

CHRISTMAS CHEER- Regarding performance, App Thompson stated that the gelding was slow to begin however travelled well in the early stages. Shortly after, he has shifted in to a position on the rail and the horse has been under pressure to go forward. He further stated from the 500 metres, the horse had failed to respond to his riding and proved disappointing.

Race 3: Winx Class B Handicap- 1194m

BLOOMBERG- Hampered at the start when FORTUNATO BAMBINO jumped outward, taken out onto the heels of MOWER. Raced wide throughout.

BOHEMIAN TIGER- Slow to begin.

FORTUNATO BAMBINO- Raced wide throughout.

Race 4: Greg McCann Memorial Open Plate- 1194 metres

BETTER IDEA- Raced wide at the rear of the field.

JEB’S BOY- Race wide throughout.

Race 5: Outdoor Concepts BM 55 Handicap- 1517 metres

LUCKY TICKET- Blundered severely on jumping and unbalanced the rider.

YEEZY- Apprentice A Thompson was spoken to with regard to use of his whip above shoulder height.
