Race 1: Butlers Fabrication Class B Handicap 850m
 
SNIP ‘N’ DRIFT – Jumped awkwardly out. On return to scale, the rider reported an injury to her right foot after making contact with the barriers. A subsequent assessment by Ambulance Officers declared Jockey T Chambers unfit to fulfil her remaining engagements. Jockey Chambers will require a medical clearance prior to returning to racing.
 
SALTY’S BOY – Jumped in the air and shifted out at the start. Near the 600 metres, commenced to race ungenerously due to the sand kickback. Shifted ground causing SHE’S ON POINT to be checked. Continued to race ungenerously until the home turn. Trainer reported that the gelding had been galloped on both hind legs.
 
SHE’S ON POINT – Hampered slightly when another runner shifted out at the start. App. T Doyle was advised to exercise more care when he shifted in near the 700 metres taking HAYYLER’S TARY in onto BOUN CI and caused SHE’S ON POINT to be eased. Near the 600 metres had to be checked.
 
RAPT IN BLACK – Hung out approaching the home turn.
 
NEED FINANCE – Jockey P Romeo viewed the photo finish image to ascertain if he had run third. After doing so he was satisfied with the judge’s semaphored numbers.
 
Race 2: Gladstone Cup 11th August Maiden Plate 1000m
 
Jockey T Chambers was replaced by App. T Doyle as the rider of ABSOTIVELY when no other rider was available.
 
ABSOTIVELY – Late scratching at 2:09pm when it was unable to be loaded. Deductions where as follows:
 
8 cents in the dollar for the win
10 cents in the dollar for place of winner


Trainer D Schultz was advised that the mare would require a barrier certificate prior to racing again.
 
QUATRO AMIGOS – Slow into stride. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the near hind cannon. The gelding was treated and Traier D Gardiner will be advised that the gelding would required a veterinary certifcate prior to racing agin.
 
CRAIGLEA CELERIO, MURTAHOME & AQUIVER – Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 3: Diceys QTIS BenchMark 55 Handicap 1194m
 
A LITTLE WICKED – Declared a late scratching at 1:37pm due to no available rider when Jockey T Chambers became indisposed.
 
TWO AMOR – Near the 1000 metres, bounded over the sand kickback.
 
SPUR WITH EASE – Jumped awkwardly.
 
PENNY SHARES & STARENA – Raced wide throughout.
 
EXCELCAT – Jockey P Romeo was advised to ride his mounts out to the line.
 
Race 4: Trish Collins Open Plate 1194m
 
Jockey T Chambers was replaced by Jockey P Romeo as the rider of DUAN MAJOR.
 
BLUE JEST – Raced wide without cover until the 500 metres.
 
EXECUTED – Raced wide until the 600 metres.

UNDERCOVER GIRL – Turned its head to the off side and when the start was affected, turned to the near side and was slow to begin. Raced some distance from the rear of the field and wide on the track for the majority.
 
MURPHY’S HUSTLER – Raced wide from the 850 metres.
