Race 1: GLADSTONE HARBOUR FESTIVAL Class B HANDICAP (850 metres)
 
MISHANI COURAGE: Slow to begin.
 
QUICK VERSE: Slow to begin and failed to show any speed throughout the race. Rider stated Quick Verse failed to handle the track.
 
DAKIEL LASS: Raced wide throughout.
 
CELEBRATING: Began awkwardly and raced wide throughout, rider stated Celebrating failed to handle the home turn.
 
 
Race 2: BYRON BAY LAGER MAIDEN PLATE (1000 metres)
 
BRAHMINY: Slow into stride and hung out throughout the race.
 
MAN, ONA MISSION: Began awkwardly and as a result was slow into stride. Raced wide throughout.
 
SETLIN SAGE: Raced wide throughout.
 
THE GIRL IS WILD: Approaching the 450 metres stepped in for a stride causing another runner to be steadied.
 
GOLDEN GROOVE: Had to be steadied approaching the 450 metres when another runner stepped in for a stride. Rider stated Golden Groove failed to handle the sand surface.
 
 
 
Race 3: BARCOO REYNOLDS QTIS CLASS 1 HANDICAP  (1194 metres)
 
FREEDOM REIGNS: Raced wide throughout and failed to handle the sand surface.
 
RED HANA: Bumped by another runner shortly after the start as a result lost ground, then raced wide throughout.
 
STRUMAN: Slow into stride.
 
CIRCUIT JUDGE: Shifted out shortly after the start and bumped another runner.
 
SAINT NO MORE: Raced wide throughout.
 
 
Race 4: GREG MCCANN MEMORIAL OPEN SPRINT (1194 metres)
 
TEN TAUBAD’S: Raced wide for the majority.
 
JAY JAY: Slow to begin.
 
MAHRATTA: Slow into stride, raced wide throughout, rider reported he felt Mahratta felt tired from it’s previous run.
 
MYSTERY ELEMENT: Raced wide throughout.
 
LIBERTY’S GIFT: Slow into stride and raced wide for the majority.
 
 
 
Race 5: BIRALEE MAY 29th RACEDAY BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP (1517 metres)
 
DELIUS: Raced wide throughout.
 
ELUSIVE ELEMENT: Shifted out under pressure approaching the finish line resulting in another runner have to check off heels at the finish line. Apprentice jockey Shannyn Stephan was issued with a reprimand for shifting ground when not clear to do so.
 
BRIGHTON TOFF: Slow to begin and raced wide throughout.
 
DESTINATION ROCKS: Raced wide throughout.
 
THE DECKERAIDER: Raced wide throughout, rider had to check off heels near the finish line when another runner shifted out under pressure. Apprentice jockey Montana Philpot made application to view the patrol footage over the concluding stages in regards to lodging an objection against the winner Elusive Element. After viewing the patrol footage apprentice Philpot declined to proceed with an objection. Stewards declared correct weight on the judges semaphored numbers.
 
DECK OF ACES: Stewards accepted the explanation provided by Trainer Ian Prizeman for the late declaration of jockey David Simmons as the rider of Deck Of Aces. Stewards permitted jockey David Simmons to ride 1.5kg overweight as there was no other rider available. Was subsequently scratched at 4:05pm by stewards acting on veterinary advice when found to be lame in the nearside hind leg at the barriers. Trainer Ian Prizeman was advised that he must produce a veterinary certificate of soundness before starting Deck Of Aces again. Stewards ordered all monies invested on Deck Of Aces to be refunded and the following deductions were to occur.
 
1st Place 10 cents in all win bets and 10 cents in all place bets.
2nd Place 10 cents in all place bets.
3rd Place 10 cents in all place bets
