Race 1: XXXX GOLD Class B Handicap 850M  
 
Following the running of Race 1, Stewards were advised that an error had occurred with the photo finish equipment capturing a photo. As there was no objection to the judge’s placings across the line, acting under AR214(4) correct weight was declared on the numbers 1-6-2-3.
 
A GOOD CHANCE – Knuckled on jumping.
 
LOST LIGHT – Slow to begin. Laid in over the concluding stages.

MORICONI – Raced wide throughout.
 
BOOTYFUL DIVA – Laid in approaching the 600m, contacting the running rail. Laid in when placed under pressure in the straight. Jockey C. McIver stated that the mare felt awkward in its stride over the concluding stages.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
CLUSTERFEST – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Hung out in the middle stages.
 
 
Race 2: SUMMER BRIGHT Maiden Plate 1000M
 
FROOME – Raced wide throughout.
 
NIKSICKO – Overraced in the middle stages. Laid in when placed under pressure in the straight.
 
VOK’S THE ONE – Jockey J. Baker stated that the gelding failed to muster any early speed.
 
CLEAR TITLE – Raced wide throughout.
 
RECUSE – Underwent a pre-race vet examination after not completing in the past 12 months and was passed fit to start. Laid in over the concluding stages.  
 
STRYKING MAID – Raced wide throughout.
 
 
Race 3: WAYNE WILSON MEMORIAL QTIS Benchmark 60 Handicap 1194M  
 
TIGER CAN – Slow into stride. Jockey J. Baker stated that his mount resented the kick back.
 
CRISSCROSS – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. Laid in over the concluding stages.
 
MARTO – Raced wide throughout.
 
GOSSIAUX – Jockey S. Stephan stated following today’s event, that GOSSIAUX may be coming towards the end of its preparation. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
ALL GAIN – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
LIBERTY’S GIFT – Jockey M. Gray was granted permission to ride the mount 0.5kg overweight by stewards.
 
WILD ELEMENT – Laid in when placed under pressure in the straight.
 
MAGIC PANTHER – Raced wide throughout. Laid in when placed under pressure in the straight.
 
 
Race 4: DICEY’S BAR AND GRILL GLADSTONE NEWMARKET Open Handicap 1194M
 
WALSHIE – Raced wide throughout.
 
LUCKY MACHU – Was inconvenienced on jumping away after the straps on the barrier blanket broke, causing the blanket to remain attached to LUCKY MACHU’s hind quarters, shortly before falling off after a number of strides. 
 
DUKATTI – Slow into stride. Raced wide throughout. Jockey C. McIver stated upon returning to scale that the mount failed to handle the track conditions.

Race 5: BYRON BAY LAGER Benchmark 55 Handicap 1517M
 
MALVAGIO – Underwent a pre-race vet examination after rearing in the barriers and was cleared fit to start.
 
DACXI KABOOM – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
AUSSIE TYCOON – Raced wide throughout.
 
BIG GIFT – Underwent a pre-race vet examination after competing in the past 7 days and was passed fit to start. Slow to begin. Trainer D. Whyte was advised that after its poor performance, BIG GIFT would be required to trial prior to its next start.
 
 
Race 6: IRON JACK GLADSTONE CUP Open Handicap 1608M
 
WRECKING BALL – Jumped away awkwardly. Upon returning to scale, Apprentice Jockey R. Wilson stated having to jump from the widest alley to obtain position at the front, the gelding had to work too hard early, resulting in WRECKING BALL weakening over the concluding stages.
 
MAHRATTA – Raced wide in the early stages.   
 
COACH – Raced wide throughout. Apprentice Jockey T. Fenlon stated that COACH failed to handle the track conditions.
 
ELUSIVE ELEMENT – Upon returning to scale, Apprentice Jockey S. Stephan stated to stewards that ELUSIVE ELEMENT may not have handled the step up in distance when questioned the performance of the gelding.
 
GALVARINO – Laid in when placed under pressure in the straight.
