GENERAL
Jockey Jason Missen pleaded guilty to a charge under the terms of AR127(1) for not fulfilling a riding engagement and the Roma races on Saturday 11th December in Race 1. Jockey Missen was subsequently fined the sum of $200.00. Furthermore jockey Jason Missen was issued with a reprimand for leaving the racecourse without permission.
 
 
Race 1: AG EQUIP Maiden Plate (850 METRES)
 
BOO - began awkwardly.
 
CHASE ABITA LIPPY -  slow away.
 
ROYO -  raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
BREAKER BREAKER - raced wide throughout and run about in the middle stages. Rider reported BREAKER BREAKER resented the sand coming back in the early and middle stages.
 
 
Race 2: BYRON BAY LAGER Class B Handicap - (1000 METRES)
 
BAGGER TWISTIES -  slow to begin.
 
CELEBRATING -  began awkwardly as a result was very slow into stride and raced wide throughout.
 
DUAN PHOENIX -  raced wide throughout.
 
 
Race 3: HAPPY 50TH JULIE HEYMER QTIS BENCHMARK 60 Handicap - (1194 METRES)
 
ROYAL SHEEN -  fractious prior to the start.
 
KRISPY KEV -  over raced in the early and middle stages and raced wide throughout.
 
CENTAUR -  approaching the 400 metres changed stride and commenced to lose ground. Was sent for a post-race veterinary examination and was found to be lame in the near fore. Trainer Kristy-Clarke Peoples was advised she must produce a certificate of soundness for CENTAUR before racing again.
 
WILD ELEMENT -  raced wide throughout.
 
DUKATTI -  raced wide throughout.
 
SETLIN SAGE -  Stewards permitted jockey Gemma Steele to ride overweight when there was no other suitable rider.
 
 
Race 4: TANNUM PLUMBING OPEN Handicap (850 METRES)
 
AMERICAN GENIUS -  slow into stride.
 
 
Race 5: MERRY XMAS BENCHMARK 55 Handicap - Base Rating 45 (1517 METRES)
 
OURLAST PENNY -  raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
PRESTISSIMO -  slow into stride and raced wide throughout, steadied off onto heels approaching the 400 metres.
 
AUSSIE TYCOON -  Stewards permitted jockey Gemma Steele to ride overweight when there was no other suitable rider.
