GENERAL
 
As Apprentice jockey B Moffat was unable to ride at today’s meeting due to illness, the following replacement riders were permitted. Jockey B Moffat was advised a medical certificate will be required prior to him riding again.

Race 1. BRAD NOY TREE SERVICES MAIDEN PLATE 1000m
The declaration of correct weight was delayed when Jockey D Boutet wished to view the available film to determine if he had grounds to protest. After doing so, Jockey Boutet decided not to proceed with a protest.
 
EUROSKATER – Hung out near the 250 metres when rounding the home turn.
 
SOFTEN IT UP – Raced three wide without cover. Hampered for a short distance near the 100 metres when MOLLOY shifted in under pressure. App. N Seymour was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.
 
ABSALON TULIP – Resented the sand kickback throughout.
 
DIAMNOND VICTORY – Slow to begin. Jockey G Steele reported that the mare resented the sand kickback throughout the event.
 
ROMAN QUEEN – Jumped outwards at the start and was slow into stride. Hung in under pressure in the home straight.
 
SECRET SONNETS – Tightened at the start when BALEXIA was forced inwards at the start and ROMAN QUEEN jumped outwards at the start and consequently lost ground. Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
TESSELEIGHT – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
BALEXIA – Forced inwards at the start when CHILLI PALMER jumped inwards at the start. Raced four wide without cover until near the 600 metres when it was able to stride forward and take up a leading position.
 
CHILLI PALMER – Jumped inwards at the start. Raced five wide without cover throughout.
 
MOLLOY – Hung in under pressure for a short distance near the 100 metres.
 
 
Race 2: TASHA CHAMBERS JOCKEY OF THE YEAR QTIS CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1000M
 
SO ODELIA – Held up for clear running for the distance of the home straight and went to the line without being able to be fully tested.
 
MY GIRL SKY – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
ETHELDA – Stewards permitted App. S Blunt to ride the mare 1 kilogram overweight as App. B Moffat was no longer available. In deciding to allow App. Blunt to ride the mare overweight, Stewards took into account that App. O Kendal was returning from injury and unable to take up a full book of rides and that App. G Hogg was only riding at the her second race meeting. Stewards also considered the manner of the mare as reported to them by the trainer. Slow to begin. Raced wide without cover throughout. Raced greenly for a short distance in the early stages of the home straight.
 
ASHERLA - Reared and broke through barriers before being gathered a short distance later and was reloaded. Slow to begin. Raced five wide without cover throughout.
 
Race 3: TELEMON STUD BENCHMARK 45 HANDICAP 1194M
 
BEEOKAY – Tightened on jumping and clipped the heels of CHATILLY a short distance later.
 
REGALO D’ORO – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
GOSSIAUX – Jumped the shadow of the winning post when crossing the finishing line.
 
CADOUIN – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
MISS RINEHART – App. B Johnson replaced App. B Moffat.
 
TRUE TALLY – Jockey G Steele reported that her mount failed to handle the surface in the early stages.
 
BONNIE AND CLYDE – Buffeted between REGALO D’ORO and MISS RINEHART for a short distance passing the 1050 metres. Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
CHATILLY – Jumped outwards at the start.
 
Race 4: CONGRATULATIONS BEVAN JOHNSON TRAINER OF THE YEAR OPEN HANDICAP 850m
 
KRISPY KEV – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
POTENT VIEW – Floundered at the start.
 
Race 5: WELCOME TO SPRING RACING BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1517m
 
VANA STAR – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Trainer K Miller will be advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s record for attempting to buck.
 
AWESOME SPIRIT – Bumped on jumping. Jockey G Steele was reprimanded for using her whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100 metres.
 
CANNY BOY – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
RUFFIN’ IT – Jumped outwards and bumped AWESOME SPIRIT. Raced wide without cover throughout.
