QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT GLADSTONE TURF CLUB INC 26th of October 2024 WEATHER – Fine TRACK RATING – DIRT RAIL – TRUE OFFICIALS Chairperson of Stewards – S StehbensStewards – H Gillett, G Wust SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT THANGOOL 14/9/2024 – Race 1 - M & M ELECTRICS Maiden Plate 800m FLAWLESS AMBITION – Stewards today concluded an inquiry into the vigour shown over the concluding stages of the event from jockey Damien Boutet. Jockey D Boutet was reprimanded under AR131(b) for failing to ride his mount out fully to the finish. When considering penalty stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that Mr Boutet’s actions had cost his mount a placing and considered his guilty plea and unblemished record. GENERAL Stewards permitted overweights as per the race day summary. Race 1: Saltt Clothing BM60 Handicap 850m OUTREACH BELLE – Began awkwardly. EXTREMAARTY – Fractious prior to the start. Raced wide throughout. CAVENTE – Jumped outwards at the start bumping WHITTLESFORD. Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Inclined to lay inwards over the concluding stages. COBBO – Raced wide in the early stages. WHITTLESFORD – Bumped on jumping by CAVENTE. Slow into stride. Raced wide throughout. Jockey D Boutet was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(i) for his use of the whip on two consecutive strides prior to the 100m. Race 2: Total Drafting Services QTIS Maiden Plate 1000m POTESTAS – Raced wide throughout. Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight. NGAHLI – Began awkwardly and slow to begin. When questioned in relation to the performance apprentice H Saunders stated that she could offer no explanation other than that the mare may have resented the addition of blinkers today. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities. WE GIRLS – Inclined to lay inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.ROTHFURY – Slow to begin. Jockey A. Spinks reported that his mount resented the kickback. PITLECO LASS – Declared a late scratching at 8:38am due to no rider available. Race 3: The Queens Gladstone BM45 Handicap 1194m CINDERELLA MAN - Jumped outwards at the start hampering GRAND ASCENT. Raced wide until obtaining a position in the lead near the 600m. Shifted wider on the track entering the home straight. ELECTRIC SPIRIT – Jumped inwards at the start hampering GRAND ASCENT. Slow to muster early speed. Raced wide throughout. Inclined to lay inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight. CHALKLEY – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. GRAND ASCENT – Hampered on jumping by CINDERELLA MAN and ELECTIC SPIRIT and had to restrain as a result. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities. Trainer M Stephens was advised that GRAND ASCENT would have a warning placed on its record due to being uncompetitive throughout. LAST LAUGH – Declared a late scratching at 8:38am due to no rider available. Race 4: Bookmakers Appreciation OPEN Plate 1194m MOCAMBO – Raced wide from a point near the 600m when attempting to improve. Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight. MONEY MUNCHER – Raced wide throughout. SHEER ELEGANCE – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Race 5: BK Recycling Family Fun Day BM55 Handicap 1517m XARELLO – Fractious prior to the start. Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. FORGED IN STONE – Trainer representative M Patterson was questioned on the stable location of FORGED IN STONE. Stewards inquired into the location of the gelding after having received a report that the gelding might be stabled at a different location. Mr Patterson stated that the gelding is stabled at Charleville, and he met the trainer at a mid-point to bring the gelding the rest of the way for today’s meeting.
