As D. Grahmam and Bradley Appo were ill, riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary. Both riders were advised that they would require a medical clearance prior to riding again.
 
 
RACE 1: WELCOME TO GUNSYND PARK RATINGS BAND 0 - 50 HANDICAP 1200 M
 
FERRIGNO – Slow to begin. Near the 600m had to be steadied from heels.
 
QUATTRO FANTASTICO – Stable representative advised stewards that as the ear muffs had not been removed behind the gates as required in his opinion the gelding performed below expectations.
 
SCREAMING IMPULSE – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
HOTBOT – Held up for clear running for a majority of the straight.
 
LUCKS IN  - Raced wide in the middle stages.
 
RACE 2: APEX CLUB OF GOONDIWINDI MAIDEN PLATE 1200 M
 
STARSPEED – Dislodged rider G Snowden in the enclosure. Blundered at the start. Made the home turn wide.
 
KONTA – Dislodged rider T. Chambers on the way to the barriers and galloped a considerable distance was declared a late scratching at 2:22pm. All monies invested on KONTA were ordered to be refunded, with the following deductions to apply:
 
6 cents in the dollar for the winner #3
7 cents in the dollar for the place of winner #3
7 cents in the dollar for second place #4
7cents in the dollar for third place #1
 
Rider T. Chambers was examined by QAS and cleared to ride for the remainder of the meeting
 
SUPREME SPIRIT – Difficult to load. Reared as the start was effected. App. B. Rooney reported at scale that the  mare did not stretch out on the firm track. Stewards advised trainer S. Mcewan was advised that a warning would be placed on the mares racing manners.
 
WILY MISS – Made the home turn wide.

 
RACE 3: VERN KLEINSCHMIDT CUP SEPTEMBER 9 CLASS B HANDICAP 1000M
 
MAGNORMOUS – Bumped heavily and lost ground at the start.
 
ENCORE SALL -  Bumped heavily at the start.
 
MRS MONASHEE – Made the home turn wide.
 
CLEVER GENT – Shifted out near the 700m
 
AMARDANTE – Tightened for room at the start. Hung out for a majority of the race.
 
STAR OF BETHLEHEM – Made the home turn wide.
 
LOCKOUT – Rider C. Franklin reported at scale that the filly did not appreciate the firm track.
 
 
RACE 4: TALWOOD RACES AUGUST 19 BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1000M
 
CORRYVRECKAN – Began awkwardly. Shortly after the start attempted to savage another runner.
 
GILDED SPIRIT – Tightened for room at the start.
 
ZAHA COUNTY – Barrier opened slowly as the start was effected.
 
DAZZLUNA – Raced wide throughout without cover.
 
RACE 5: GUNSYND BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1400M
 
WALK TO THE BAR – When questioned in regards to the improved performance connections advised that the gelding had been freshened up, was in a weaker race being non-tab and is more suited to distances over 1400m. Stewards noted the explanation.
 
COOL DAYS – Began awkwardly and lost significant ground.
 
OUR BOY DANNY – Presented to race with the incorrect saddle cloth. Subsequently rider J. Worley and Trainer N. Sinclair were fined $100 each.
