RACE 1: HAYES SPRAYING BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1000M
 
Stewards permitted jockey J. King to ride RED GERANIUM 1kg overweight as no other rider was available.
 
On the way to the barriers the saddle on MIGHTY ROLLER slipped causing Apprentice M. Wishart to be dislodged. App. M. Wishart sustained no apparent injuries in this incident. MIGHTY ROLLER was quickly caught, returned to the barriers to be resaddled and took part in the event.
 
DESERT PLAYBOY – Slow to begin.
 
CAN HE RAP – Began awkwardly.
 
KAPACHINO MISS  - Began awkwardly. Raced very wide in the early stages. Hung out leaving the 600m and continued to hang out for the remainder. Apprentice S. Barlow was reminded to not strike her mounts with the whip in right hand when they are hanging out. Trainer W. Morris was advised that a warning would be placed on KAPACHINO MISS for hanging out.
 
RACE 2: LANDMARK MAIDEN PLATE 1000M
 
TRIFFIK – Slow into stride. Raced wide around the home turn.
 
BOLD CRUSADER – Shifted wider near the 500m when placed under pressure and made the home turn wider.
 
EDDIEADO – Bounded at the start, losing ground. Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
 
RACE 3:B & W RURAL QTIS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP – 1200M   
 
Stewards will inquire into circumstances concerning OKANNGAN MISS failing to arrive on course. Trainer M. Kropp to be contacted. OKANAGAN MISS was withdrawn at 2:38pm. All monies invested in OKANAGAN MISS to be refunded and the following deductions to apply:

6 cents in the dollar for place of winner #REJUVENATE
10 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #REVERSE LOGIC
11 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #APPLAUSE A STAR
 
 
DRUM MASTER and SIR BAM were both scratched at the barriers on veterinary advice. SIR BAM sustained an abrasion to cannon and a possible cannon injury to off side hind. DRUM MASTER was not free in its action. Subsequently both horses were withdrawn at 2:58pm. All monies invested in DRUM MASTER and SIR BAM to be refunded and the following deductions to apply:

Trainer T. Dougall was advised that a veterinary clearance is required for SIR BAM prior to racing again.

CASSE BLEU – Began awkwardly.
 
RACE 4: KENWAY & CLARK/BROWN & HURLEY GOONDIWINDI PICNIC CUP OPEN HANDICAP - 1200M
 
LEAVESDEN – Slow to begin. Hung out over the concluding stages.
 
FERRIGNO – Fractious in the barriers.
 
EXTRA SHOT – Began awkwardly. Shifted out slightly over the concluding stages when being ridden under pressure.
 
 
RACE 5:DOYLE WILSON CLASS B HANDICAP - 1200M
 
PARELEMA – In running twisted off front shoe. Hung out in the home straight.
