QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT GOONDIWINDI RACE CLUB GOONDIWINDI– SATURDAY 31 July 2021 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – GOOD 4 RAIL – TRUE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – T. PrestonStewards – P. JenkinsClerk of Scales – StewardsJudge – M. Kindt, T. Biggers, G. Donovan A. RobertsVeterinarian – Dr M. KniepeSwab Attendants – VeterinarianStarter – Mr I. HendersonPhoto finish Operator- J. Moody. GENERAL Appr Jockey Ms J. McGrath was stood down by Stewards acting on Medical Advice after Race 2 at today’s Meeting. Replacement Rider was Apprentice Jockey C. Miles. Race 1: AMBROSE HAULAGE CLASS B HANDICAP 1400 metres Race 1- Trainer Mr L. Hatch was fined the sum of $100 by Stewards for Late Notification of a Rider under LR 67 for his Horse DIRECT DRIVE at today’s Meeting. DIRECT DRIVE- Raced wide throughout with no cover. FOXY ROSE- forced to race wide while improving when entering the home turn. DISCO DOUGIE- began awkwardly and failed to go travel well early, over raced for a short distance from the 1200m point in the race. PROMPT REPLY- tightened for room between runners and bumped shortly after the start. WHOSTOPPEDTHERAIN- began awkwardly. Stewards questioned Apprentice Jockey J. Cornish about the performance of the Mare in running. Ms Cornish advised after beginning awkwardly the horse was further back than expected and despite her efforts her Mount failed to go forward when called upon and be competitive today. BOLTIN DESIRE- began awkwardly and bumped another runner shortly after the start. Race 2: BOGGABILLA TOWN & COUNTRY MAIDEN PLATE 1200m Trainer N. King was reprimanded under AR 106 for presenting a Horse to a Race Meeting without Racing Plates. The Horse STRAIGHT JANE was declared a Late scratching by order of Stewards at 1.03pm. After hearing a submission from Jockey G. Geran Stewards allowed him to ride CITY DIVAS one kilogram over his allotted weight. BUSTED KUSTED- was slow to begin. DUSTY HAZE- began awkwardly and lost some ground. ROWLING- Fractious in the barrier. It began awkwardly, shortly after jumping was bumped ad tightened for room between runners losing ground. Trainer B. Keenan was advised the Horse would require a Barrier Certificate before it can race again. Race 3: AIRCAIR BM 50 HANDICAP 1000m. EXPLORATION- approaching the 800 metres the rider had to take hold when MOVING DAY began to lay in under pressure. Travelled wide for the majority of the event. BLUEY’S READY- stood flat footed and failed to jump. Trainer W. Louden was advised that a Barrier Certificate would be required prior to the Horse racing again. MOVING DAY- was slow to begin, it began to lay in under pressure leaving the 800m point. GLENBAWNS DUTCHESS- hung out for the majority. Stewards spoke with Rider C. Eaton after the event, she advised the Mare was very strong and at times provided difficult to ride. Despite that, the horse finished off the race very well. IBERIAN LACE- began awkwardly. Race 4: CARRINGTON COTTON BOGGABILLA CUP OPEN HANDICAP 1200m LIBERTY HEAD- was slow to begin. NINDAMIOS- was slow to begin. MARMARIS- travelled wide with no cover for the majority of the event. Race 5: MORELLA AG /GOONDIWINDI COTTON BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1800m CHICA ROSE- was slow to begin, travelled wide with no cover from the 600 metres. Stewards spoke with Jockey G. Geran regarding the seemingly disappointing performance of the Mare at today’s meeting. Jockey Geran advised that in his opinion the horse has come to the end of this preparation and needs a freshen up. Stewards are of the opinion that It would appear that she has run disappointingly over its last two runs over the 1800m and may be a query at the distance. Stewards accepted Jockey Gerans comments and will speak with Trainer C. Geran in coming days to ensure the Mare pulls up well. Mr C. Geran was not at todays meeting and unavailable for comment. Stewards took no further action. PATRICKS ME MATE- began awkwardly. MRS SHMICKLEBERG- travelled wide with no cover for the majority of the event. RIVER OF LOVE- travelled wide over the final stages.
