QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT GOONDIWINDI – SATURDAY 11 SEPTEMBER 2021 WEATHER – FINETRACK RATING – GOOD (3) RAIL – TRUE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – T NorthStewards – R Hanson Clerk of Scales – Stewards Judge – M Moody & G Donovan Veterinarian – Dr C Anderson Starter – I Henderson GENERAL Apprentice O Webb was reprimanded under AR143(14)(a) for failing to claim her full allowance in races 1, 3 and 4. Race 1: THANKS TOM BIGGERS QTIS Maiden Plate 3YO & Up Handicap 1000 metres Kingdom Reign – Bumped shortly after the start. Held up rounding the home turn. Moonstriker – Raced greenly in the home straight. Blazing Fairy – Slow to begin and shortly after was inconvenienced, losing ground. Bonnie Romance – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after having not raced in over twelve months and was passed suitable to start. Cold – Stewards permitted apprentice O Webb to claim only 1.5kgs of her 3kg allowance. Hung in shortly after the start and bumped Kingdom Reign. Roseami – Stewards accepted the explanation for the late rider declaration. Laid in during the early stages. Raced wide and without cover throughout. Jetz – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Raced wide and without cover throughout. Near the 150m had to be steadied momentarily when Moonstriker (Z Sprie) shifted out when not sufficiently clear. Apprentice Z Sprie was advised to exercise more care. Statutes – Declared a late scratching at 11:45am due to no rider being available. Imadgic – Restless in the barriers. Began awkwardly. Raced ungenerously in the early stages. Near the 700m was steadied when awkwardly placed on heels. Raced wide and without cover thereafter. Outastep – Began awkwardly and shifted in. Raced wide and without cover throughout. Race 2: HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY ASHLEY WATT BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1000 metres Accumulated – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Sertin – Raced wide in the middle stages. Nombuso – Slow into stride. The Bumblebee – Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages. Glenbawns Dutchess – Raced wide in the middle stages. Miss Makepeace – Bumped near the 600m. Race 3: OAKTREE Class B Handicap 1200 metres Waitakere – Performed below market expectations. Rider S Lacy advised that the gelding was required to do too much work from the wide barrier draw. She further added that given the weight impost and that the gelding was first up since April, she was satisfied with the performance. Avision – Laid in throughout. My Big Brother – Near the 900m raced in restricted room and was steadied. Raced ungenerously for a short distance thereafter. Very Soon – Stewards permitted apprentice O Webb to claim 1kg of her 3kg allowance. Queenofmainstreet – Bumped shortly after jumping and lost ground. Whostoppedtherain - Declared a late scratching at 11:50am due to no rider being available. Her Option – Stewards accepted the explanation for the late rider declaration. Stewards permitted rider C Rogers to ride the mare one kilogram over its declared weight of 55kgs. Raced wide and without cover throughout. Massie Whisper - Declared a late scratching at 11:50am due to no rider being available. Race 4: VERN KLEINSCHMIDT COMMUNITY TRUST GOONDIWINDI GOLD CUP OPEN Handicap 1400 metresBryneich – Raced wide and without cover throughout. Jochberg – Near the 1100m had to be checked when tightened by Kappy Cino, which when racing ungenerously shifted in marginally. Kappy Cino – Bumped on jumping. Near the 1100m had to be steadied when racing ungenerously and shifted in marginally. Ruby Rush – Stewards permitted apprentice O Webb to not claim any of her 3kg allowance. Apprentice O Webb reported that the mare hung out throughout and that her saddle slipped back at the top of the home straight, placing her at a disadvantage. Parlour – Began awkwardly and shifted in. Race 5: HAYES SPRAYING / WEED IT BATTLERS CUP BENCHMARK 50 Handicap 1800 metres Prior to the declaration of correct weight stewards considered an objection lodged by 2nd placegetter Foxy Rose against Open Road being declared the winner alleging interference over the final 100m. After considering the evidence, stewards determined that near the 100m, Open Road hung in under pressure brushing Foxy Rose. Considering the extent of the interference, the margin and the way both horses finished the race off, stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that had that the interference not occurred Foxy Rose would have finished in advance of Open Road and dismissed the objection. Canister – Held up rounding the home turn behind the weakening Madam Etak. Foxy Rose – Brushed near the 100m. Open Road – Hung in when placed under pressure near the 100m. Madam Etak – Raced keenly in the lead. Iberian Lace – Began awkwardly. Raced ungenerously in the early stages whilst being restrained.
