MIZ MACEY – Inconvenienced shortly after the start. Hung out in the middle stages. ZULU REIGN – Shifted out after the start inconveniencing another runner. Jumped the track crossing at the 600m inconveniencing another runner. HALF EVIL – Raced wide rounding the home turn. HIDDEN LADY – Jumped awkwardly and slowly into stride. Raced greenly in the middle stages. REDENZA ROMAN - Inconvenienced shortly after the start by another runner. Raced wide for the entire journey. Race 2: CAIRNS HARDWARE CLASS B HANDICAP 1100m STYLE LINE – Jumped awkwardly and slow to begin. SUJANI – Slow to begin. FIRERISE - Raced wide for the majority of the race. Race 3: GREAT NORTHERN BREWING CO. BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1100m DREAM I CAN – Knuckled over and slow out as the start was effected. KICK ONS – Raced wide rounding the home turn. App E Cass (DREAM I CAN) was questioned in relation to her riding over the final stages of the race, and in particular just prior to the finish line. App Cass was reminded of her obligations in relation to continue riding her mount to the end of the race. Race 4: FULLER SPORTS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1360m REAGAN –Jockey N Yadi accidentally dropped his whip near the 250m. VAN GAAL – Hampered when placed in restricted room over the concluding stages. YALANJI – Shifted in over the concluding stages of the race hampering another runner. App R Shred was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) for careless riding, after allowing YALANJI to shift in when not sufficiently clear of another runner. INDY SHOWGIRL – Raced wide in the middle stages of the race. On returning to scale App E Cass (VAN GAAL) lodged a protest 4th against 1st (YALANJI) for alleged interference over the concluding stages of the race. After hearing evidence from both riders and viewing the available footage Stewards dismissed the protest and declared correct weight on the Judge’s numbers. App Cass was advised that the protest was bordering on frivolous. Race 5: PARKVIEW HOTEL GORDONVALE CUP OPEN HANDICAP 1800m SALESMAN – Raced wide over the middle stages of the race. TUNERO – Restrained off heels near the 1500m. GREYCLIFFE – Shifted in hampering another runner near the 1500m. Jockey S Kaya was severely reprimanded under the provisions of ARR 131 (a) for careless riding in that he permitted GREYCLIFFE to shift in when not sufficiently clear of another runner. KINGSBRIDGE – Slowly away. Hampered passing the 100m when forced inwards by another runner. MAQUEREAU – Had to be checked when severely tightened for racing room passing the 100m. YANKEE TANGO – Had to be checked when severely tightened for racing room passing the 100m. Jockey M Butler reported that his saddle shifted over the concluding stages of the race. ANARCHY – Raced wide in the middle stages. HOT TOP – Slowly away. Jockey P Romeo was found guilty of careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a) in that passing the 100m he permitted ROCCO to shift in under riding when insufficiently clear of KINGSBRIDGE (App E Cass) which was forced in severely tightening the running of YANKEE TANGO (M Butler) and MAQUEREAU (App K Southam) both of which had to be checked. Jockey Romeo’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 13 days to commence 11 October 2020 up to and including 23 October 2020.
