Race 1: TONON PLUMBING AND GAS QTIS CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1) – 1100 Metres

CAT IN THE RAINE – As no other suitable rider was available, rider F. Edwards was permitted to ride filly 1.5kg over its allotted weight. Slow to begin. Stewards accepted the explanation and evidence tendered by jockey F. Edwards in relation to him not being able to make the allotted minimum weights today, riding replacements were made as per steward’s summary.

READY BETTY – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start.

BREAK ON THROUGH – Slow to begin. Inconvenienced leaving the 800 metres and shifted wider.

BELLE ADELE – Slow to begin.

AMELIA'S RAINBOW – Shifted in near the 1000 metres and again near the 600 metres bumping RACORZA. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

RACORZA – Was bumped by RACORZA near the 1000 metres and again near the 600 metres. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

NORTHERN GREAT – Faltered approaching the 800 metres and was retired from the race. A veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have sustained a serious injury to it near foreleg. Due to the extent of injury the gelding was humanely euthanized.

Race 2: STARFM / 4CA QTIS CLASS 1 HANDICAP (2) - 1100 Metres

WILD CHOICE (NZ) – Slow into stride.

VULPES – Blundered near the 300 metres. Raced wide for majority of the race.

KONNICHIWA – As F. Edwards was to be over-weight he was replaced by N. Yadi. Slow to begin.

Race 3: TOP SKIPS MAIDEN PLATE – 1100 Metres

LOUD NOISE – Lay out shortly after the start tightening runners to its outside. Had a tendency to lay out for the majority of the race and shifted wider rounding the home turn and continued to do so in the home straight. Trainer T Rowe was advised a warning would be placed on the geldings racing manners.

ABBY'S DRAGON – Shifted in on jumping tightening runners to its inside.

MAMMA DON'T DANCE – Tightened between runners on jumping and was steadied.

ZULU REIGN – Tightened between runners on jumping and was steadied.

CRAIGLEA RAFFERTY – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

SHE'S A SINNER – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

Race 4: 2021 BATTLE OF THE BUSH GORDONVALE QUALIFIER OPEN PLATE SPONSORED BY TUFF TYRES – 1100 Metres

WOOHOO GIRL – Over-raced in the early stages.

SUPPOSEDLY WICKED – Lost its off-side hind plate during in running.

Race 5: FULLER SPORTS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP – 1360 Metres

DRUMBEAT'S CHOICE – Slow to begin.

HIGH ADVICE – Began awkwardly and shifted out inconveniencing SHE BEATS THE BEST.

LABRUSCO – Shifted in when racing in restricted room shortly after the start tightening LICKETY LACHIE.

LICKETY LACHIE – Tightened for room shortly after the start and was steadied.

CLOUT – Shifted in shortly after the start placing LABRUSCO in restricted room. Rider E. Cass was reprimanded and advised to make a greater effort to prevent her mounts from shifting ground in similar circumstances.

SHE BEATS THE BEST – Inconvenienced on jumping by HIGH ADVICE which shifted out.

TYCOON THUNDER – Over-raced in the middle stages. Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight.

Race 6: CAIRNS HARDWARE MM/ROB KOCH MEMORIAL/FNQ UP&COMING STAYERS/ROY MARSH MEMORIAL BM65 HANDICAP – 1800 Metres

MBAPPE – As jockey D. Smith was dually engaged he was replaced by M. Abe as the rider of the gelding. Became fractious in the barriers and was declared a late scratching at 4.59pm. by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice. On the announcement of correct weight all monies invested on MBAPPE were ordered to be refunded with deductions of 4 cents in the dollar on face value of all win bets and 5 cents in the dollar on the face value of all place bets to be applicable. Trainer T. Clive was advised he must provide a further barrier certificate prior to the horse being permitted to race again.

WHITTERICK – Jumped outwards on jumping forcing LUCKY FOR SOME wider.

LUCKY FOR SOME – Forced outwards at the start inconveniencing runners to its outside. Lost ground in this incident.

MISHANI COURAGE – Began very awkwardly and was then inconvenienced by LUCKY FOR SOME which was forced outwards and lost ground. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

LET'S CONQUER – As jockey F. Edwards was to be overweight he was replaced by jockey N. Yadi. Inconvenienced on jumping and lost ground.

MANHATTAN ZIP – Began awkwardly.

YANKEE TANGO – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
