Hung out throughout and raced wide as a result. OVERLOAD Blundered on jumping. LIVERPOOL JANE Raced wide throughout. MONTE LAGO Finished a distant last. Post race vet examination revealed no abnormalities. MAN OF LAW Resented the sand kick back and raced ungenerously when the rider attempted to settle the horse behind other runners between the 700m and the 400m. Rider reported that when able to place the horse in clear running the gelding improved quickly and was doing its best work over the concluding stages. Race 2: FOXY LADY MAIDEN PLATE 1170M OUR HAPPY RAIN Jumped awkwardly and lost significant ground. Raced very greenly throughout. HEIRSROC Slow to begin SMOOTH VELVET Steadied when tightened for room near the 1050m. P Timbery, rider of FLASH SAMMY, was reprimanded for this incident. MINK STAR Blundered on jumping away and when behind other runners resented the sand kick back. Trainer G Clem reported that following the event it was discovered that the horse had returned to scale with a bubble cheeker caught under the off fore hoof. Post race vet examination also found that the horse had suffered an injury to the offside knee. Trainer G Clem was advised that the horse would require a vet certificate prior to next start. Race 3: ROADCRAFT DRIVER EDUCATION OPEN HHCAP 1170M GLENTHORN AVENUE Slow to begin. JEBBS BOY Wide throughout. Race 4: OAKVALE HOMES BENCHMARK 55 HHCAP 1200M UNCANNY REASON Tightened for room and lost ground. NICE TIME Made the 1200m turn awkwardly and lost ground. Rider reported that the horse did not handle the sand kick back from this point onwards. COONOWRIN RUBY Hung out from approaching the 400m until near the 200m. ARLIS Hung out rounding the home turn and was steadied from heels. PRICKLETHORP Rider reported that in light of todays performance the connections would consider sending the horse for a spell. CHILLI BEACH Wide throughout. KURAMOS Wide throughout. Race 5: THE GYMPIE TIMES BATTLERRS CUP BENCHMARK 55 HHCAP 2160M GAS BURNER Checked from heels near the 1300m after having over-raced badly from the 1800m and continued to over-race until passing the 1000m. SWINGING Post race vet examination found that the gelding was lame in the near hind leg with a minor laceration found on the tendon consistent with having been galloped on.
