MADCALLRace 2. DOLCI BRIGALOW QUEEN CIMARRON KID, late scratching at 12:00pm Race 1: LIFE MEMBERS MAIDEN PLATE1170 metres HARALDIGO – Rider J Missen reported that the gelding hung out throughout. CRAIGLEA DANIEL – Rider H Richardson reported that after beginning awkwardly failed to muster early speed and in her opinion the horse did not appreciated the sand kickback. HE’S HIDDEN AGENDA – Slow to begin. Tailed the field. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding identified it to be lame in both hind legs. Trainer’s representative was notified that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to the gelding racing or trialling again. Race 2: GYMPIE TIMES ONLINE CLASS B HANDICAP 1030 metres MR FUJI – Shortly after the start was tightened for room, had to be checked and lost ground between PRETTY RICKY and PRESTISSIMO. PRETISSIMO – Began awkwardly. Race 3: TOPSY BATH MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 850 metres PEXBURY AVENUE – Blundered at the start dislodging its rider. Apprentice R Wilson was assessed by QAS and was cleared to fulfil her remaining engagements. Race 4: PATRONS RETURN TO RACES BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1600 metres NINE CIGARS – Performed below market expectation. Rider R Faehr reported that after beginning slow he rode his mount forward with the intention of settle in a position with cover however when FURY OF THE STORM improved to his outside the gelding commenced to race keen and in his opinion failed to handle the tempo of today’s event. DEE CEE DELIGHTS – Began awkwardly. PEXBURY AVENUE – When questioned in relation to the seemingly improved performance Trainer I Jackson explained that today was the gelding’s second start for the stable and that it suited the step up in distance. Race 5: GYMPIE TIMES SPRING CUP BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1170 metres SIP SIP SIP – Slow to begin. Improved onto heels when over racing and had to be steadied on several occasions in the early and middle stages. MAHRATTA – Slow to begin.
