Race 1: EUMUNDI EQUINE VETERINARY PRACTICE BM50 HCP – 850M

OUR SWEET LOVE – Slow to muster speed and raced wide throughout.

Race 2: ANTHONY LANSKEY BM60 HCP – 1030M

MOUNTAIN COURAGE – Jumped awkwardly.

MASTER DENRHO – Hampered on jumping. Leaving the 800m when racing in restricted room, had to be steadied when SUPER FREAK and SOLID ASSET shifted ground marginally.

MINOAN SPIRIT – Slow to begin and hampered shortly after.

Race 3: KEV CAVANOUGH MEMORIAL QTIS MDN PLT - 1030M

Correct weight was delayed after the starter alerted Stewards that he may not have affected the start. After viewing the available patrol films, Stewards were satisfied that all runners were afforded a fair start and correct weight was declared.

BARON SEMEDI – Slow to begin and muster speed.

MARCHEKY BOY – Jumped awkwardly. Slow to muster speed. Apprentice J Molloy stated his mount resented the kickback in the early stages, however when taken wide to avoid those conditions, he was satisfied with how MARCHEKY BOY finished off its race.

MOSKOGEE – Raced wide throughout. When questioned regarding the performance, jockey R Faehr stated that MOSKOGEE raced like a tired horse and felt as though the gelding had come to the end of its preparation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

THE RAGING PRINCE – Fractious in the barriers and jumped awkwardly.

ALL GAIN – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

AYEPEETEE – Raced wide throughout.

SILENT WEEKEND – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

Race 4: GENROSA TRUCK AND PLANT 100 CLUB CUP CL B HCP – 1170M

DISCO DOUGIE – Slow to begin and hampered shortly after when SERIOUS MOVES shifted out abruptly. Raced wide throughout. Laid out rounding the home turn. Commenced to lay in under pressure near the 200m and had to be steadied from the heels of SCARAB for several strides, then continued to lay in for the remainder of the home straight.

INVESTIBLE – Slow to begin.

CHAMPAGNE SPIRIT – Shifted in on jumping.

FREEDOM REIGNS – Hampered on jumping.

SERIOUS MOVES – Fractious in the barriers making contact with the gates shortly before jumping. Shifted out abruptly on jumping. Raced wide throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

TORTUGA – Raced wide throughout. Laid in marginally under pressure rounding the home turn.

TRUE TALLY – Jumped awkwardly shifting out.

SUPALUX – Raced wide

CELEBRATING – Slow to begin. Hung out rounding the home turn and then had to be steadied from the heels of DISCO DOUGIE when TORTUGA laid in marginally under pressure. Apprentice Castle was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

SCARAB – Rounding the first turn commenced to hang out onto the heels of TRUE TALLY and had to be steadied. Laid out rounding the home turn.

OURLASTPENNY – Slow to begin.

Race 5: SHEPHERD’S BETTA HOME LIVING COAST TO THE COUNTRY CL B HCP – 1470M

Correct weight was delayed after the starter alerted Stewards that he may not have affected the start. After viewing the available patrol films, Stewards were satisfied that all runners were afforded a fair start and correct weight was declared. Stewards will speak to the Gympie Turf Club regarding the technical difficulties endured with the barrier stalls to ensure they are in satisfactory working order prior to the clubs’ next meeting.

HECANROCKME - Apprentice J Molloy reported that although HECANROCKME was slow to begin due to the barrier malfunction, the impact was marginal compared to HECANROCKME’s own mannerisms. Stewards were of the opinion that due to the uncertainty regarding the starting process, no further action would be taken on HECANROCKME. Raced wide throughout.

PRESTISSIMO – Raced wide throughout.
