Race 1: BMW FINANCIAL SERVICES B’Mark 50 H’Cap 1170 metres
 
MISTER WARD – Began awkwardly. Resented kickback when trailing the field.
 
FRISCO’S IMAGE – Began awkwardly.
 
STORMTROOPER – Approaching the 850m raced in restricted room to the inside of REBEL CAUSE which shifted in.
 
DUKATTI – Slow to begin. Rider D Boutet reported that after beginning moderately the gelding resented the heavy kickback.
 
SOLID ASSET – Buffeted between runners on jumping. Raced wide throughout.
 
ALL GAIN – Tightened between runners on jumping.
 
BOOM CHUGGA LUGGA – Raced wide throughout.
 
 
 
Race 2: TATTERSALL’S RACING QTIS Maiden Plate 1170 metres
 
Correct weight was delayed when the Jockey of the 3rd placegetter RASHEED App G Hayes lodged an objection against the 2nd placegetter CROSBY ROAD (J Molloy) and the winner KINGOFTHEHARBOUR (G Steele) alleged interference near the 300m. A further objection was lodged by the Jockey of the 2nd placegetter CROSBY ROAD, App J Molloy against the winner KINGOFTHEHARBOUR, also alleging interference near the 300m. After taking evidence from all parties and viewing the available patrol footage, it was established that near the 300m RASHEED racing to the inside of CROSBY ROAD was steadied when that runner was momentarily taken in by KINGOFTHEHARBOUR which shifted in. As a result CROSBY ROAD was restrained when awkwardly placed at heels of KINGOFTHEHARBOUR. As Stewards could not be satisfied that the extent of the interference to both RASHEED and CROSBY ROAD was greater than the margin separating runners at the finish, and they dismissed the protests and declared correct weight on the judges’ placings.
 
At a subsequent inquiry Jockey G Steele was severely reprimanded under AR131(a) for permitting her mount to shift ground when insufficiently clear.
 
MA DUSHKA – Began awkwardly. Rider H Phillips that her saddle shifted back near the 600m. Raced wide throughout
 
TORRADAY – Slow to begin and resented the kickback when trailing the field. Raced wide throughout.
 
RASHEED – Was steadied when placed in restricted to near the 300m
 
METALLIC REIGN – Bumped on jumping. Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
CROSBY ROAD – Restrained when awkwardly placed at the heels of KINGOFTHEHARBOUR which shifted in under pressure in the 300m.
 
MARMION – Approaching the 1000m commenced to race ungenerously with its head in the air for some distance. Rider K Gates reported the gelding resented the heavy kickback throughout.
 
UNSUGARED – Tightened between runners on jumping and lost ground.
 
SYNZ – After returning from racing collapsed in the tie-up stalls and received immediate attention from the on-course Veterinary Surgeon. A post-race veterinary examination identified the gelding was suffering the effects of heat stress. Trainer P Duff was notified that he will be required to provide a Veterinary Clearance prior to racing or trialing again.
 
RED PENIJANE – Raced wide throughout.
 
 
Race 3: JIM CONNOLLY MEMORIAL COUNTRY STAMPEDE QUALIFIER Open H’Cap 1030 metres
 
DYNAMIC VERSE – Slow to begin. Resented the heavy kickback when trailing the field.
 
BAY OF DRAGONS – Raced four wide without cover throughout and made the home turn wide.
 
DIGGITY – Raced wide throughout.
 
MY BEST EFFORT – Resented the kickback. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
Race 4: BMW AUDIT SERVICES RATINGS BAND 0-55 H’Cap 1470 metres
 
The start of the race was delayed approximately 12 mins when the Queensland Ambulance Service had to attend to a patron in the crowd.
 
LITTLE DRUMMER BOY – Began awkwardly and bumped with CRAIGLEA CLINKERS. When trailing the field resented the kickback and failed to muster early speed.
 
CRAIGLEA CLINKERS – Bumped on jumping.
 
RUSSIAN MISSILE – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Rider D Boutet reported that the gelding resented the heavy kickback in todays event.
 
HAPPY FRANK – Raced wide throughout.
 
NOT LIABLE – Raced wide throughout.
 
NINE CIGARS – Weakened noticeably in the home straight. Rider G Geran reported that the gelding had been traveling well throughout, however approaching the 100m commenced to weaken badly and he desisted from riding the horse out, as he had concerns the gelding actions. A post-race veterinary examination did not identify any abnormal findings. Trainer B Gill undertook to report to stewards anything that may become apparent which may have had an effect on the horses performance in the days subsequent to the event. He added that he may look at racing the horse over shorter distances than that of today’s event.
 
Race 5: BROWN MACAULAY & WARREN GYMPIE CUP Open H’Cap 1600 metres
 
The start was delayed when CROCKETT became fractious in the barriers and as a result underwent a pre-race veterinary examination which revealed the gelding to be lame in the off-hind leg and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 4:20pm. All monies invested on CROCKETT were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 4:20pm:
27 cents in the dollar for the win MY CERTAIN
26 cents in the dollar for the place of winner MY CERTAIN
 
Trainer A Simpson was advised that the gelding will require a veterinary clearance before racing or trialing again.
 
JOCHBERG – Blundered on jumping and lost ground. Performed below market expectation, rider app. J Cornish reported that after blundering on jumping the gelding resented the kickback and failed to respond to her riding in the early and middle stage. She added that the gelding however ran on well from the 300m and did its best work in the home straight. Stewards noted the explanation.
 
LUCKY MACHU – Began awkwardly and made contact with MAHRATTA.
 
MAHRATTA – Bumped heavily on jumping and lost ground. Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
