QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT GYMPIE TURF CLUBSATURDAY 20th NOVEMBER 2021 WEATHER – Fine TRACK RATING – Sand RAIL – True OFFICIALSStewards: K Daly (Chairman), C FedrickClub Stewards: W Moore, A ReardonClerk of Scales – QRIC StewardsPhoto Finish – C BamfordVeterinarian – Dr P AgnewStarter – G Honeywell General:Prior to the running of Race One, Stewards inquired into two (2) reports received from the QRIC Integrity Investigations Team (IIT) which conducted random inspections at the Gympie on-course stables on race morning. As a result, Stewards took the following actions: 1. KINGOFTHEHARBOUR, which was engaged in Race Three (Class B Hdcp), was declared a late scratching at 12:00pm under AR254A(2) after it was established the horse had been administered by injection a prohibited product containing cobalt salts, namely Hemoplex, on 4th and 16th November 2021. 2. EXPLOSIVE TRUTH, which was engaged in Race Two (Benchmark 60 Hdcp), was declared a late scratching at 12:15pm under AR249(3) after it was established the horse had been treated on race morning with the registered product TuffRock. Stewards adjourned inquiries into both incidents to a time and date to be fixed. Race 1 – Maiden Plate 850 METRES BILLIRUBIN – Raced wide rounding the home turn. RASHEED – On arrival at the barriers the saddle on the gelding was re-adjusted. READYTOFLASH – Slow to begin. ROYO – Jumped out at the start. THE DEVASTATOR – Began awkwardly. Taken wider rounding the home turn by BILLIRUBIN. EIL ‘N’ ALL – Raced in restricted room shortly after the start. Approaching the 200 metres, when racing to the inside of RASHEED, was hampered, and obliged to steady when that runner shifted in. G Hayes, rider of RASHEED, was reprimanded under AR131(a) for careless riding.Race 2 – Benchmark 60 Hdcp 850 METRES DARE TO SHARE – Bumped at the start. OAKFIELD COMMANCHE – Raced wide for the majority of the event. HAN DYNASTY – Jumped out at the start and bumped DARE TO SHARE. FASHIONETTI – Raced wide for the majority of the event. FIRST BID – Made heavy contact with the enclosure gate when moving onto the track. On arrival at the barriers underwent a veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Rider S Stephan reported that after being slow to begin, FIRST BID did not appreciate the sand kick-back and was reluctant to stretch out for the majority of the event. Following the running of this event, jockey Hannah Richardson was examined by QAS staff after reporting she had experienced discomfort in her right ear from the effects of sand and grit during the running of the race. Ms Richardson was subsequently cleared to fulfil her remaining riding engagements. Race 3 – Class B Hdcp 1030 METRES EXPRESS DRAGON – After being fractious when loaded into the barriers, dropped its head when the start was effected and lost ground. UNSUGARED – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the event. CELEBRATING – Slow to begin. MR FUJI – When asked to comment on the performance, rider M Crawford reported the horse travelled comfortably to the 600 metres but when placed under pressure from that point failed to respond to his riding and was disappointing. Trainer K Afford indicated MR FUJI would now be retired from racing, however, was advised should these circumstances change MR FUJI must trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start. Race 4 – Open Hdcp 1030 METRES DYNAMIC VERSE – Slow to begin. Raced wide from the 600 metres. TROMMELSCHLAGEN – Bumped heavily near the 700 metres. CRISSCROSS – Laid in near the 700 metres despite the efforts of its rider and bumped heavily with TROMMELSCHLAGEN on several occasions. Race 5 – Benchmark 60 Hdcp 1470 METRES The start of this event was delayed when on arrival at the barriers the tongue tie on DAUNTING WARRIOR broke and a replacement tongue tie was sourced. MY CERTAIN – Raced wide in the early and middle stages of the event.
