GENERAL
 
Trainer B Gorman was fined $100 under LR67 for the late declaration of rider for BOOM ROCKER.
 
Race 1 – Open Hdcp (1170 METRES)
 
PRINCE OF DIAMONDS – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages and made heavy contact with SOLID ASSET approaching the finish line. Jockey M Butler advised stewards that he had recommended to connections that they should experiment with the addition of a tongue tie prior to next start.
 
HAUNTED HOUSE – Jockey M Murphy reported that his mount felt awkward in its action when placed under pressure in the home straight, and it was for this reason he did not pressure the horse over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer B Gorman reported that in light of today’s performance the mare would now be sent for a spell.
 
HEDONIE – Raced wide throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed debris ingress to the nearside eye, consistent with having been contacted with sand during the event.
 
MEGLIO – Jockey G Steele reported that in her opinion the gelding failed to handle the sand racing surface.
 
SOLID ASSET – Bumped heavily approaching the finish line.
 
 
 
Race 2 – Benchmark 50 Hdcp (1170 METRES)
 
Due to communication failures the start of this event was run approximately 2 minutes late.
 
Declaration of correct weight was delayed allowing M Murphy, rider of 4th placegetter GALA RAIN, to view the photo finish image for 3rd. After doing so correct weight was declared on the semaphored placings.
 
MARCHEKY BOY – Raced wide throughout.
 
RAKU’S SECRET – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
HARD ENOUGH – Jockey C Rogers was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100m, two more than permitted.
 
NICHOLAS ADAM – Slow to begin and near the 900m commenced to hang out before shifting out across the heels of THE ANGELS KISS near the 900m. Raced wide from that point onwards.
 
MASSABIELLE – Jockey M Powell, rider of 3rd placegetter MASSABIELLE, was reprimanded under AR131(b) for failing to ride his mount out to the end of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be suffering from mild heat stress.
 
GALA RAIN – Raced wide throughout.
 
BOOM ROCKER – Put in an awkward stride near the 800m.
 
QUARTER PAST – Rider B Newport reported that the mare failed to handle the sand racing surface. Trainer K Sempf advised that he now would attempt to avoid racing on sand surfaces in the future.
 
 
Race 3 – Maiden Plate (850 METRES)
 
HE DID IT – Jockey G Steele reported that in her opinion the gelding did not handle the sand racing surface.
 
MUSSEL LINES – Near the 600m became awkward and had to be restrained when attempting to shift in across the heels of HE DID IT.
 
FIERY EXCHANGE – Fractious after being loaded into the barriers.
 
LADY ORATORIO – Slow to begin.
 
MISS BONTASTIC – Raced wide throughout and then hung out rounding the home turn.
 
 
 
Race 4 – Benchmark 60 Hdcp (850 METRES)
 
VICEMAN – Raced wide throughout.
 
CONGELATOR – As the gelding had not started for an extended period, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination, and was cleared to start.
 
ARATULA – Forced wider from the 400m.
 
GRACIEDE – Lost the near hind plate in running.
 
FOX ON THE ROCKS – Hung out and shifted wider on the track from the 400m. Shifted in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
DIXIELAND – Obliged to race in restricted room shortly after the start and further tightened near the 800m before clipping heels and blundering when racing between XUANNU and VICEMAN, which shifted in and away from FOX ON THE ROCKS.
 
 
 
Race 5 – Open Hdcp (1170 METRES)
 
NEW ALLIANCE – Began awkwardly. Forced wider when rounding the home turn. Rider P Hamblin reported that the gelding felt awkward in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
DARE TO SHARE – After obtaining clear running to the inside of DIGGITY passing the 350m, shifted out forcing both DIGGITY and NEW ALLIANCE wider on the track.
 
SUILVEN – Tightened for room on jumping.
 
DIGGITY – Forced wider when rounding the home turn.
 
BUZZER BEATER – Shifted in abruptly on jumping. A post-race veterinary examination revealed BUZZ BEATER to have bled from both nostrils for the second time. Acting under AR 79(6) trainer M Patterson was advised the horse was now barred from racing for life.
 
NOT LIABLE – Tightened for room on jumping.
 
OAKFIELD COMMANCHE – Tightened for room on jumping and had to be checked, losing significant ground.
 
 
Race 6 – Benchmark 45 Hdcp (1470 METRES)
 
AVISION – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Hung in under pressure in the home straight.
 
JENO – Raced wide throughout.
 
ALL JEED UP – Raced ungenerously throughout the event and did not travel well at any stage before finishing a distant last. Trainer A Briskey indicated to Stewards the horse would now be retired, however was advised ALL JEED UP must trial satisfactorily prior to racing again if circumstances were to change. A post-race vet examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
WALKINSHAW – When asked to comment on the performance, rider M Butler indicated that the gelding did not handle today’s sand racing surface, adding that he had recommended to connections that the Crossover Noseband be removed from the horse’s gear and also WALKINSHAW would benefit from a step up in distance to 1600m.
 
MY TARANAKI – Slow to begin.
 
BARTA LINES – Blundered and lost ground at the start. Rider B Newport was reprimanded under AR 131(b) for failing to ride BARTA LINES out to the finish of the event.
 
 
 
Race 7 – Benchmark 65 Hdcp (1470 METRES)
 
MY CERTAIN – Hampered on jumping. Raced wide from the 700m.
 
BAMBALAM – Declared a late scratching at 1:38pm on veterinary advice after suffering lacerations to both hind legs when being transported to the track.
 
CAPODANO – Began awkwardly and shifted out.
 
CALIFORNIA VANTURE – Hampered on jumping.
 
 
 
Race 8 – Maiden Plate (1170 METRES)
 
CLAIRVUE JET – Crowded for room approaching 1000m.
 
DAULAT ULTI MAIORA – Tightened for room and lost ground near the 1000m. Raced greenly and hung in under pressure from the 200m onwards. Trainer P Blackwell was advised that a warning would be placed on the horse’s racing manners.
 
INALOO – Jockey B Moffatt was reprimanded under AR 132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m, one more than permitted.
 
MINICOURT – Checked when tightened for room near the 1000m and raced wide from that point onwards. B Moffat, rider of INALOO, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that at a point approaching the 1000m he permitted his mount to shift in across the rightful running of JADE’S MISSION forcing that horse in tightening the running of KURU LASS, causing that horse to be steadied, and a short distance later causing DAULAT ULTI MAIORA to shift in tightening the running of MINICOURT causing that horse to be checked. Jockey B Moffat’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 11 days to commence midnight 23/7/2022 and to conclude midnight 3/8/2022.
 
THE MONEY SPENDER – Slow to begin and failed to travel at any stage of the event.
 
BEAUETA – Raced wide throughout.
 
KURU LASS – Steadied when tightened for room approaching the 1000m.
