GENERAL
 
Stewards approved the following overweight allowances at today’s meeting -
Race 5: NICHOLAS ADAM – Apprentice S Robbins - +1kg = 56kg
 
Race 1: GET WELL LIFE MEMBER BILL SWAN QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 2-Y-O & Up. 850 Metres

DAULAT MACHTIGKUDA – Shifted wider on the home turn. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
TYSON'S FURY – Broke through the barriers prior to the start being affected. Rider, Apprentice C Sutherland remained in the barriers and TYSON'S FURY galloped riderless for a considerable distance before contacting the outside running rail at the top of the straight. After being captured, the gelding was examined by the on
course Veterinarian and was found to have suffered superficial abrasions to the near side foreleg. Consequently, TYSON'S FURY was declared a late scratching at 1.33pm on vets advice. Trainer T Haydon was advised that TYSON'S FURY would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate and a veterinary certificate before racing again. Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all bets placed onTYSON'S FURY were to be refunded with the following deductions to be applied to successful bets:
 
1st DAYTIME MARTINIS  24c win, 17c place bet.
2nd LIPSTICK LIES   4c place.
3rd DAULAT MACHTIGKUDA  4c place.
 
FACTNOT FICTION – Began awkwardly and jumped in at the start. Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
HOPE IS GOOD – Began awkwardly.
 
LIPSTICK LIES – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
LADY ROTH – Began awkwardly. Contacted the offside barrier gate on jumping and lost ground. Raced wide throughout.
 
ONYABIKE CHARLIE – Raced wide throughout.
 
QUEEN'S ARMS – Over raced in the early stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 2: THANK YOU FOTF COORDINATOR CHRIS HAMILTON BENCHMARK 45 HANDICAP 850 Metres

VICEMAN – Bumped on the hind quarters on jumping and became momentarily unbalanced. Checked approaching the 600m. At a subsequent inquiry it was established that whilst racing to the inside IGBO, which was holding a three wide position, DEECE SCENT KISS shifted in slightly despite the efforts of its rider causing VICEMAN, which was racing on the rail, to be placed in restricted room and was obliged to check. Whilst noting the circumstances, Stewards took no direct action other than to advise all riders to exercise care in similar circumstances.
 
DEECE SCENT KISS – Became fractious after leaving the mounting yard and required assistance to proceed to the barriers. Trainer G Richardson was advised a warning would be placed on the mares’ prerace manners. Jumped inwards at the start.
 
POWER SISTER – Became fractious in the mounting yard and made contact with the outside fence. Trainer C Geran was advised a warning would be placed on the mares’ prerace manners. Underwent a prerace veterinary examination when arriving at the barriers and was passed suitable to start.
 
DEE JAY CEE – Became fractious after leaving the mounting yard and required assistance to proceed to the barriers. Trainer C Johnstone was advised a warning would be placed on the geldings’ prerace manners. Inconvenienced on jumping and lost ground.
 
TRUE TALLY – Raced wide throughout.
 
DIVENIRE – Shifted wider on the home turn.
 
WHO TOLD YA – Declared a late scratching at 11.26am. Trainer W Kuskopf advised Stewards the mare had been injured when loading on to transport. Trainer Kuskopf was advised a Veterinary certificate would be required for WHO TOLD YA before racing again.
 
Race 3: GYMPIE TOYOTA - SCOTT REEDMAN MEMORIAL CLASS B HANDICAP 1170 Metres.

KAPPY – Began awkwardly and jumped outwards at the start. Raced wide throughout.
 
HEWRECKED'EM – Hung in around the home turn.
 
REVITUP CHARLIE – After leaving the mounting yard, made contact with the inside running rail. On arriving at the barriers, underwent a prerace Veterinary examination and was passed suitable to start.
 
LOUD ATTRACTION – Taken wider on jumping when KAPPY jumped outwards.
 
CONAIR – Began awkwardly.
 
Race 4: GYMPIE MAZDA BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1030 Metres.

THETOYBOY – Slow to begin.
 
BRAVE ENOUGH - After leaving the mounting yard, contacted the outside running rail. Subsequently, the gelding underwent a prerace Veterinary examination before being passed suitable to start.
 
BABU KING – Taken wider on the home turn when CITY CHICK and VIZONE shifted out.
 
CITY CHICK – Shifted out on the home turn.
 
VIVA AMERICANA – Slow to begin.
 
VIZONE – Taken wider on the home turn when CITY CHICK shifted out.
 
RAINBOW DREAMS – Began awkwardly.
 
Race 5: GYMPIE MG BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1470 Metres.

PEDAL TO THE METAL – Slow to begin.
 
THREE STRIPES – Weakened from the 300m and was eased down by its rider over the concluding stages. Approximately 150m passed the winning post, THREE STRIPES collapsed and was pronounced to be deceased. The on-course Veterinarian diagnosed thatTHREE STRIPES had suffered a probable heart attack. Samples were taken from the gelding for analysis. Rider, Apprentice S Willis was not injured in the incident.
 
FREEDOM AVENUE – Slow to begin.
 
SASSY CHOICE – Apprentice Jockey O Kendall reported that in her opinion, SASSY CHOICE resented the sand kickback from today’s racing surface.
 
MASTER RED – Slow to begin. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
CANNY BOY – Jockey H Phillips reported that the gelding raced ungenerously after passing the winning post for the first time until the 1100m whilst resenting the sand kickback from today’s racing surface. Shifted wider passing the 1100m and raced wide for the remainder of the event.
 
NICHOLAS ADAM - AS there were no other jockeys available to rideNICHOLAS ADAM, Stewards permitted a request from Trainer W Kuskopf for Apprentice Jockey S Robbins to ride the gelding at one kilogram over.
