OFFICIALS

GENERAL
 
Stewards approved the following overweights for todays meeting:
Race 4: Morgan Butler + 1kg = 56kg.
Race 6: Morgan Butler + 0.5kg = 56kg
 
Race 1: STEPHENS FAMILY SPRINT BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 850 Metres.
 
The start of this race was delayed when ALL A LADY was required to undergo a resaddle at the barriers.

AMPHAWA – Shifted out shortly after the start when bumped by NINE CIGARS.
 
FAST SONG – Tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground.
 
NINE CIGARS – Jumped out at the start and bumped AMPHAWA.
 
BET LUCY – Raced wide throughout.
 
LAST LAUGH – Began awkwardly and jumped in at the start. Raced wide throughout.
 
WAR ON BLING – Began awkwardly and hampered when LAST LAUGH jumped in. Jockey H Phillips reported that after being hampered at the start, WAR ON BLING raced in restricted room until the 800m before being steadied at that point. Jockey Phillips further added that in her opinion the mare was not suited by today`s racing surface.
 
ALL A LADY – Hampered on jumping and lost ground. Underwent a resaddle at the barriers before the start of the event. ALL A LADY became fractious during the resaddle and delayed the start. Trainer L Curtain was advised a warning would be placed on the mare’s pre-race barrier manners.
 
Race 2: THE AUSSIE COOL - ACTRON AIR CONDITIONING QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1170 Metres
 
EMPEROR TEIO – Hampered on jumping. Apprentice Jockey P Carter received a Severe Reprimand pursuant to AR132(6)(c) in that she did use her whip when her mount was out of contention.
 
GARTAN – When asked to comment on the gelding’s performance, Jockey M Butler reported that GARTAN travelled well in the early stages but after being crossed at the 900m the gelding resented the kickback from today`s racing surface and proved disappointing.
 
BLESSED DAY – Raced wide throughout.
 
INVADING JILLY – Shifted out shortly after jumping and hampered EMPEROR TEIO.
 
LIPSTICK LIES – Raced wide throughout.
 
STELL'S ANGEL – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Apprentice Jockey E Molloy reported that in her opinion STELL'S ANGEL resented the kickback from today’s racing surface.
 
WIDGEE LACE – Began awkwardly. Inclined to lay out during the event.
 
Race 3: THE COMFORT EXPERTS - DAIKIN AIR CONDITIONING RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 HANDICAP 1170 Metres
 
The start of this race was delayed allowing the on-course QAS officers to attend to a patron who became ill. The start was further delayed when FIREBIRD TWO proved difficult to load.
 
FIREBIRD TWO – Difficult to load. Momentarily steadied passing the 550m when CHILL OUT MISS shifted out slightly. Trainer G Richardson was advised that the gelding would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate in an official trial before racing again. Trainer G Richardson advised Stewards that FIREBIRD TWO would now be retired from racing.
 
SHOTGUN DIVA – Jockey A Spinks was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(b) for failing to ride his mount out to the end of the race.
 
CHILL OUT MISS – Shifted out slightly passing the 550m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have bled from both nostrils for the first time. Trainer K Sinclair was advised the mare would be stood down from racing pursuant to AR 79(4) for 3 months and must trial or gallop 1000m prior to its next start.
 
GRANDEUR ROSE – Slow to begin because of the gates from this barrier being slow to open. The barriers were tested before the following event. The barriers were working satisfactorily with no evident reason for why the barrier was slow to open on this occasion.
 
RASHEED – Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 4: TSR-COOL RUNNINGS RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 HANDICAP 1170 Meters
 
GIDDY UP GIDLEIGH – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
GUS THE BUS – Raced wide throughout.
 
PAULI – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
FLICK – Slow to begin. Apprentice P Carter reported that in her opinion FLICK, resented the kickback from today`s racing surface.
 
MUSSEL LINES – Began awkwardly and slow into stride.
 
TRUE TALLY – Slow to begin.
 
Race 5: THE PERFECT AIR - PANASONIC AIR CONDITIONING OPEN HANDICAP 1170 Metres
 
The start of this race was delayed, allowing the on-course QAS officers to attend to a patron who became ill and wait for a replacement ambulance to arrive on course.
 
DARE TO SHARE – Shifted out on jumping and bumped GOSSIAUX. Bumped by HURRICANE HALL entering the home straight.
 
DIGGITY – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
HURRICANE HALL – Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early stages of the event. Entering the straight, became momentarily unbalanced and bumped DARE TO SHARE.
 
DAULAT ULTI MAIORA – Slow to begin.
 
GOSSIAUX – Bumped on jumping.
 
Race 6: TSR REFRIGERATION & AIR CONDITIONING CUP BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1470 Metres
 
The start of this race was delayed, due to the delay of the start in the previous race.
 
TAKE THE LEAD – Raced wide in the early stages. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages. Apprentice Jockey J. Devine, in the presence of her master Mr J Devine, pleaded guilty and was charged pursuant to AR 131(c) in that she made a celebratory gesture prior to passing the winning post. Apprentice Devine was issued with a Severe Reprimand for this incident. When considering penalty, Stewards considered Apprentice Devine’s guilty plea and show of remorse, level of riding experience and good disciplinary record.
 
NORTHERN WOODS (NZ) – Inclined to hang out under pressure in the home straight.
 
KELLERS SHELTER – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
READYENTIME – Slow to begin.
 
CANNY BOY – Raced wide in the early stages.
