Trainer G.Purdy reported that THEATRE KING returned to the enclosure with lacerations to both hind legs.
When rounding 1200mtr turn NO STOP LOSS (W.Kenning) commenced to over-race and hung outwards, resulting in MIGHTY PHUN (J.Stopps) being taken wide on the track.

RACE 2: CLASS 4 HANDICAP – 1460 Metres – 9 Starters
CROSSEE (J.Stopps) ran a distant last, Jockey Stopps reported to the Stewards that he believed the horse to be lame. The club’s Veterinary Surgeon reported that CROSSEE was lame in the off-fore fetlock.
ICE VAIN (P.Cullen) returned to the enclosure with the presence of blood in both nostrils. The horse was declared a bleeder under the terms of AR53A. Trainer H.O’Dea was advised by the Stewards that ICE VAIN is now barred from racing for a period of three calendar months. Stewards ordered that a precautionary analytical sample be taken from ICE VAIN.
Approaching the 800mtr mark PICK ANOTHER (A.Molino) steadied from BRUNT (W.Kenning) which was over racing and shifted outwards.

RACE 3: MAIDEN PLATE - 1180 Metres - 7 Starters
CHIN SEA (A.Cox) raced uncompetitive throughout the event.

RACE 4: CLASS 2 HANDICAP – 1000 Metres – 8 Starters
Jockey K.Mahoney was found guilty to a charge of Careless Riding under the terms of Ar137(a) in that as the rider of HARRY THE WIZARD he permitted his mount to shift inwards at approximately the 600mtr mark and take the running of DID I DO IT (A.Molino) which resulted in that horse having to be checked and lose its position in the field. Subsequently Jockey Mahoney’s Licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 5 NQ race meetings to commence at midnight 10th June 2004 up to and including the 25th June 2004. Stewards ordered that the suspension is to commence at the completion of the current penalty to be served by Jockey Mahoney.
Jockey J.Stopps was charged with a breach of Ar175(k) in that he was negligent by sending his saddle out when not properly equipped with stirrup irons. Jockey Stopps pleaded guilty and was subsequently fined the sum of $50.
Jockey A.Cox the rider of BORDERLINE BLUE was dislodged behind the barriers. Jockey Cox was examined by the on course Ambulance attendants and passed fit to ride.

RACE 6: OPEN HANDICAP - 1830 METRES - 10 Starters
Jockey A Molino the rider of SHAMROCKS placed second past the post by the judges lodged a protest against PALACHI (App L.Abbott) being declared the winner on the grounds of alledged interference from the home turn until the winning post. After taking evidence from the parties involved Stewards dismissed the protest and declared correct weight on the Judges placings on the grounds that the interference suffered by SHAMROCKS did not warrant the reversal of the Judges placings.
Apprentice L.Abbott was advised to stop riding in the future after her mount shifted outwards over the concluding stages.
GAZZAM (A.Cox) jumped away awkwardly when the start was effected.
STAGE KING (K.Mahoney) over-raced in the early stages and had to be restrained to avoid racing onto the heels of BETHEL (W.Kenning) when leaving the straight for the first time.
Jockey M.Elliott was reprimanded for allowing his mount EL QABOW to shift inwards when entering the home turn, resulting in QUESTWIN (P.Cullen) being checked and lose its position in the field.
