QUEENSLAND RACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS’ REPORT BURDEKIN TURF CLUB, HOME HILL – SATURDAY, 4 NOVEMBER 2017 WEATHER – FINE, TRACK RATING – FIRM 2, RAIL – TRUE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – A. SpenceStewards – P. LaneBookmakers Supervisor – StewardsClerk of Scales – StewardsJudge – T. DaviesVeterinarian – Dr D. VieroSwab attendant – VeterinarianStarter – N. Johnston RACE 1: BOBCAT BM65 HANDICAP 900m PERFECTLY SWIFTLY – Slow to begin. JAXTER’S BALLET – Shifted inwards marginally near the 700m causing minor tightening to other runners. Jockey P. Cullen was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. ANZUS – Was tightened by another runner near the 700m. GUTZ CI – Was steadied when tightened by another runner near the 700m RACE 2: ASULOX MAIDEN PLATE 900m RAVAILLION – Late scratching at 11:00am. Trainer A. Cameron advised Stewards that the mare was kicked to the off fore leg when being placed on the float prior to being transported. Mr Cameron was advised a veterinary certificate would be required prior to the mare’s next start. HIDDEN SPEED – Jumped outwards at the start and bumped other runners. Jockey Ms K. Aho reported that the filly was inclined to race greenly in the early stages. MAC ME MATE – Bumped by another runner at the start. WRONGLY ACCUSED - Bumped by another runner at the start. MY BOY TICKETS – Inclined to race greenly in the early stages. Had to be restrained near the 600m after shifting out across the heels of another runner which was improving to its outside. ANNE CATHERINE – Near the 600m shifted inwards under riding when not quite clear, inconveniencing another runner. Jockey M. Abe was advised to ensure he is fully clear when crossing other runners. MISS FURY – Inclined to lay out rounding the home turn. RACE 3: CROPLANDS RATINGS BAND 0-50 HANDICAP 1000m BALLERDEE BOB – Was a late scratching at 2:48pm after dislodging Jockey Ms K. Aho on route to the barriers and galloping for some considerable distance. Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards’ ordered that all monies wagered on BALLERDEE BOB be refunded in full and further, that deductions of 3c Win and 3c Place be applied to all successful wagers placed prior to time of scratching. Trainer Mr R Tapiolas was advised that the gelding must trial satisfactorily under full race day conditions prior to again being permitted to start in a race. HURAI – Began awkwardly and lost ground. DUNNYS STAR – Began awkwardly. Was placed awkwardly onto heels near the 500m when hanging in and had to be restrained. Raced wide for the majority. HALL OF PEACE – Raced wide for the majority. RACE 4: SUSCON MAXI INTEL CLASS 3 PLATE 1180m Stewards inquired into an incident which occurred near the 600m which resulted in MOLONGLE HERO losing ground. After hearing evidence and viewing available patrol footage it was established that DIAMOND DANCER (App Ms N. Nelson), which had commenced to hang in at approximately the 700m for some considerable distance had shifted further inwards at the 600m despite the efforts of App Nelson. Simultaneously CARDA MOJO (M. Hart) had shifted ground outwards on the point of the turn making contact with MOLONGLE HERO (D. Sparks) which was forced out onto the heels of DIAMOND DANCER resulting in MOLONGLE HERO being checked and losing ground. As Stewards were of the opinion that no individual rider could be held fully responsible the matter was reported as a racing incident. Jockey D. Sparks was reprimanded for his conduct when returning to the mounting yard after the race. RACE 5: ENTEC CLASS B HANDICAP 1460m LOOK FOR ROSIE – Late scratching at 3:10pm by order of Stewards acting under veterinary advice as the mare had sustained an offside hip injury after becoming cast in its stable prior to the race meeting. Trainer R. Cussons was reminded of his obligation to advise stewards as soon as practicable on any matters that may affect the performance of his horses. BROKEN FINGER – Dislodged Jockey M. Hart behind the barriers prior to the start. Jockey Hart declared himself fit to ride. Fractious in the barriers. Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Shifted inwards when placed under pressure near the 100m. CENTENARIO – Slow to begin. CENTREHALF FORWARD – Slow to begin. SPY CI – Raced wide rounding the home turn. Stewards adjourned an inquiry into the reasons why MYTANG, ridden by Jockey J. Felix, fell and Jockey Ms K. Aho was dislodged from her mount (GONDWANA BAY) near the 1300m. Evidence was taken from Ms K. Aho, Jockey Ms C. Jokic (HELLOW HARA), Jockey A. Holt (ROBABANK) and Jockey M. Abe (SPY CI). The inquiry was adjourned to a date and time to be fixed in order that Jockey J. Felix, who was transported to Ayr Base Hospital, is fit to attend.
