Race 1: BROWN BROTHERS QTIS CLASS 4 PLATE – 900M  
 
PIPE DREAM LASS – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start and began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
MISS ESTER – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start and was slow into stride. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
CHARLIE ROCKET – Jumped outwards at the start tightening the runner to its outside. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
CHEVY NOVA – Was tightened for room between runners on jumping and lost ground.
 
MOUNT COSTA – Inconvenienced near the 850m by THE SWELL which was forced inwards by HAYYLER’S ILLUSSION which shifted in.
 
THE SWELL – Forced inwards by HAYYLER’S ILLUSSION near the 850m inconveniencing MOUNT COSTA. 
 
HAYYLER’S ILLUSSION – Shifted in near the 850m inconveniencing runners to its inside. Rider S. Sheargold was severely reprimanded and advised to make a greater effort in keeping his mount straight in similar circumstances.    
 
Race 2: CARLTON & UNITED BREWERIES MAIDEN PLATE (1) – 1000M
 
ONE BLOOMIN’ TALE – Fractious behind the barriers dislodging rider P. Romeo giving him a seemingly harmless fall before becoming very fractious in the barriers resulting in rider P. Romeo injuring his right foot and being stood down by the ambulance paramedics. ONE BLOOMIN’ TALE was declared a late scratching at 1.15pm by order of stewards. As there was no betting on the meeting no deductions were applicable. Trainer Ms J Russell was advised the gelding must officially trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to being permitted to race again.
Rider replacements for injured P. Romeo were made as per Stewards Race Day Summary.    
 
DIYOSA – Slow to begin. Hampered when racing in restricted room near the 800m.
 
CHEERS FOR CHARLIE – Slow to begin.
 
PERFECT SAGA – Slow to begin.
 
SO SURREEL – Raced wide for the majority of the race. 
 
Race 3: CAMPBELLS JEWLLERS MAIDEN PLATE (2) – 1000M
 
FLASH FOX – Shifted outwards on jumping bumping GREAT LOOKER. Inconvenienced near the 750m when momentarily tightened for room by NORWEGIAN WOOD which shifted in.  Accidently struck over the head by the whip of another rider when racing tightly approaching the winning post.
 
GREAT LOOKER – Crowded for room on jumping and was slow into stride.
 
NORWEGIAN WOOD – Crowded for room on jumping. Shifted in momentarily near the 750m inconveniencing FLASH FOX. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
BALNAGLE – Hampered near the 250m by SASSY ASSASSIN which shifted in under pressure.
 
SASSY ASSASSIN – Shifted in under pressure near the 250m hampering BALNAGLE. Rider App K. Swaffer was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
 
TICKET KEEPER – Rider M. Potgieter accidently struck FLASH FOX over the head with his whip when racing tightly approaching the winning post.
 
Race 4: DON WEST TOYOTA CLASS B H’CAP – 1000M
 
MUNRO – Was very fractious during its preliminary and when entering the track resulting in rider P. Cullen standing himself down for that ride. As such MUNRO was declared a late scratching at 2.15pm. As there was no betting on the meeting no deductions were applicable. Trainer R. Cussons was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s parading manners and further that the horse’s nomination would be refused at TAB meetings until its manners improved.
 
AMUTHON – Slow to begin. Bumped by THAT’S OUR SONG which shifted out shortly after the start.
 
THAT’S OUR SONG – Shifted out shortly after the start bumping AMUTHON. 
 
DUTCH ROCKET – Hampered soon after the start by JACK DERIPPA which shifted out. Had a tendency to hang out mid race and as a result raced wide for the majority of the race. Shifted in under pressure near the 100m placing DREAM PEACE in restricted room.  App M. Potgieter was reprimanded and advised to make a greater effort in keeping his mount straight in similar circumstances.

SPEEDYCOM – Began awkwardly. Hampered soon after the start by DUTCH ROCKET which was forced wider by JACK DERIPPA which shifted out.
 
JACK DERIPPA – Shifted out shortly after the start hampering runners to its outside.
 
DREAM PIECE – Hung out rounding the home turn. Raced in restricted room leaving the 100m   and went to the line without being fully tested.   
 
Race 5: WILMAR BENCHMARK 50 H’CAP – 1180M
 
As P. Cullen was dually engaged as the rider of REAR VIEW MIRROR and WRITTEN IMAGE he was replaced by G. Kliese as the rider of WRITTEN IMAGE. Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by all connections.
 
RURAL REBEL – Lunged forward as the start was effected causing the filly to lose considerable ground. Improved onto heels near the 900m having to be restrained off heels until near the 600m. Rider App D. Graham requested to view the patrol film prior to correct weight being declared to determine if she had been afforded a fair start. After viewing the patrol film she was satisfied it had been the filly’s manners which attributed to the poor start and as such correct weight was declared on the judges semaphored numbers. Trainer B. Johnson’s representative was advised a warning would be placed on the filly’s barrier manners.       
 
FORGOTTEN FEELING – Slow to begin. Raced wide rounding the home turn forcing WRITTEN IMAGE wider.
 
INVISBLE GIRL – Slow to begin. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
WRITTEN IMAGE – Forced wider rounding the home turn by FORGOTTEN FEELING which shifted wider.  
 
THIS GIRLS ON FIRE – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
DIAMOND DIVA – Raced wide for the majority of the race.  
 
Race 6: PACIFIC REEF FISHERIES BENCHMARK 50 H’CAP – 1460M
 
DON’T DOUBT LARA – Slow to begin.
 
DON’T DOUBT MAEVE – Slow to begin.
 
JUSTALAD – Raced ungenerously for a short distance passing the 900m. Shifted in under pressure approaching the winning post crowding runners to its inside. Rider P. Cullen was reprimanded and advised to make a greater effort in keeping his mount straight in similar circumstances.
 
REEF MASTER – Made the 1300m turn awkwardly and momentarily shifted wider.
 
BATTLE – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
AS YAWOOD – Crowded for room approaching the winning post.
 
NEWSTEAD – Crowded for room approaching the winning post.
 
DON’T CHEAT CHARLIE – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
