Inconvenienced near the 550m and again at the 300m by another runner which shifted in marginally. KNIGHT FIGHT – Shifted in marginally near the 550m and again at the 300m inconveniencing a runner to it inside. App M. Potgieter was reprimanded for careless riding. AR131(a). Race 2: MICHAELS MENS & BOYS WEAR BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1180m MISTA BUSY – Slowly away. Restrained off heels near the 800m. WICKED DANCER – Slowly away. TAPTHETILL - Raced wide for the majority. PURRHAPS – Raced wide for the majority. NARDA SHAR – Jockey W D’Avila reported the gelding had hung out for the majority. Trainer S D’Avila was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners. Race 3: EE MUIR & SONS CLASS B HANDICAP 1180m SCHILL ROCK YOU – Fractious in the mounting yard losing its footing and dislodging jockey P. Romeo who was uninjured. The mare underwent a veterinary inspection upon arrival at the barriers and was cleared to start. Slowly away. GOING IN STYLE – Underwent a veterinary inspection upon arrival at the barriers and was cleared to start. Was inconvenienced near the 1000m when crossed by another runner which was not fully clear. Raced wide for the majority. SUJANI – Slowly into stride after shifting out and bumping with another runner on jumping. Raced wide for the majority. BULLET LAD – Bumped by another runner on jumping. HORORA VEL – When improving forward from a wide barrier, shifted in inconveniencing another runner near the 1000m. Jockey A. Holt was reprimanded for careless riding. AR131(a). AMUTHON – Restrained off heels rounding the home turn. Race 4: HAYWARD HYDRAULICS QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1000m DECARLO – Slowly away after beginning awkwardly. I TOO CAN DREAM – Reluctant to load. Slowly away. Raced wide the majority. Jockey P. Cullen reported that the gelding which was having its first race start had raced greenly throughout. Trainer B Williams was fined $100.00 for failing to report that the horse had been gelded. AR102. TATACHILLA – Slowly into stride after being inconvenienced on jumping. Raced wide rounding the home turn. SASSI ASSASSIN – Slowly into stride. Raced wide for the majority. PERFECTLY POSH – Shifted out on jumping inconveniencing a runner to its outside. Race 5: HOME HILL NEWS BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP (2) 900m BAZKIR – Slowly away. App E Cass reported the gelding laid in in the early and middle stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed soreness in the hindquarters. Trainer W Dale was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to next race start. GREAT WINGS – Began awkwardly. DUTCH ROCKET – Began awkwardly. Was crowded by another runner approaching the winning post. AMMATE – Shifted in marginally under pressure approaching the winning post crowding a runner to its inside. Jockey W D’Avila was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. MOUNT COSTA – Shifted out under pressure down the running. NOT TONIGHT DEAR – Raced wide for the majority. CHARGING CLEAR – Raced wide for the majority. Race 6: HOME HILL NEWS BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP (1) 900m HONEY KO - Resuming after a prolonged absence from racing. Underwent a pre-race veterinary inspection and was cleared to start. Raced wide for the majority. CHEERS JOYCE – Slowly away. FAVOR OF GOD – Shifted in on jumping inconveniencing a runner to its inside. SFILZA – Slowly away after being inconvenienced on jumping. HIT SNOOZE – Began awkwardly. Shifted out marginally rounding the 600m turn. THAT’S OUR SONG – Began awkwardly. Shifted in rounding the 600m turn having to be steadied off the heels of another runner which shifted out marginally at that point. On returning to scale Jockey P Cullen who rode 2nd placed THAT’S OUR SONG requested to view the patrol footage to ascertain whether he had grounds to lodge an objection against HIT SNOOZE (A Holt) being declared the winner on the grounds of alleged interference near the 600m. After viewing the footage Jockey Cullen elected to proceed but then quickly withdrew his objection prior to any evidence being heard. Subsequently Correct Weight was declared on the Judge’s numbers.
