QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT BURDEKIN RACE CLUB HOME HILL – SATURDAY 21st MAY 2022 WEATHER – Overcast TRACK RATING – Good 4 RAIL – True OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – D LaneStewards – D Griffiths, C BewClerk of Scales – StewardsJudges – G Evans, T DaviesVeterinarian/Sample Collection Official – D VieroStarter – J Cullen GENERAL As Jockey G Kliese was unable to ride at today’s race meeting, rider changes were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary. Race 1: BURDEKIN RACE CLUB WELCOME Qtis Maiden Plate 1460 metres GREY ZONE – After having had its last start in Rockhampton on the 19th of May 2022, the filly underwent a pre-race Veterinary examination and was cleared fit to start. LENNY ROCKET – After having its last start in Cairns on the 16th of May 2022, the gelding underwent a pre-race Veterinary examination and was cleared fit to start. Underwent a pre-race Veterinary examination at the barriers after making contact with the outside running rail and was cleared fit to start. Raced wide for the majority. SCORPIO RISING (NZ) – Slowly away after beginning awkwardly. MIDNIGHT BOOM – Raced wide for the majority. App J Doolan advised that her saddle shifted upon exiting the barriers, placing her at a disadvantage. TEX’S GIRL (NZ) – Shifted wider rounding the home turn. Race 2: BURDEKIN VETERINARY SERVICES Benchmark 45 Handicap 1460 metres MISHANI DREAMER – Commenced to hang in after jumping, contacting the inside running rail and taking no further competitive part in the event. Underwent a post-race Veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities. Trainer J Manzelmann was advised that the filly would be required to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to again being to start in a race. NAOMI – Slow to begin losing ground. Trainer J Manzelmann was advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s barrier manners. RED RED ROSE – Shifted in marginally near the 400m hampering HERSHISER. Jockey A Thomson was advised to exercise greater care under similar circumstances. HERSHISER – Hampered near the 400m after RED RED ROSE shifted in, then commenced to shift out shortly after carrying RED RED ROSE wider. DISS ‘N’ DAT – Shifted in when placed under pressure approaching the 100m. Race 3: STAR LIQUOR Class B Handicap 1000 metres DIVINE JAZZ – Slowly away. ZAKHEERA – Very slowly away. Trainer M Purvis advised that the mare had lost its off fore plate in the running. JUST FRANK – Shifted in abruptly approaching the 450m contacting the inside running rail and hampering CHATILLY. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. CHATILLY – Hampered approaching the 450m when JUST FRANK shifted in abruptly. EXPLOSIVE GIRL – Inclined to shift in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Race 4: NORTHERN INSURANCE SOLUTIONS Maiden Plate 1180 metres MISHANI DUDE – Fractious in the barrier. Began awkwardly. The gelding was found have lost its off hind plate in the running. NICCONI RAIN – Shifted out on jumping inconveniencing MOTORED. MOTORED – Slowly into stride after being inconvenienced by NICCONI RAIN. Race 5: 2022 BATTLE OF THE BUSH HOME HILL QUALIFIER Open Plate 1180 metres FRATELLINO – Slowly away. SUCH A WHIT – Shifted out on jumping. App C Collis advised that the gelding had a tendency to hang. REVENIRE – Tightened between runners on jumping. AMMOUDI BAY – Laid in the early stages. Held up for some distance rounding the home turn. Jockey S Sheargold advised that his saddle had shifted in in the running. Race 6: NUTRIEN AG SOLUTIONS Benchmark 55 Handicap 1180 metres HI ZERO – Raced wide in the early stages. MOLONGLE DRIFTER – Commenced to overrace when awkwardly placed onto heels approaching the 600m and was restrained momentarily. SPIRITOFTHEVALLEY – Shifted wider rounding the home turn. Race 7: PRODUCE SUPPLIERS Benchmark 55 Handicap 1180 metres CHEYENNE BEACH – Began very awkwardly. ZULU TUK – Shifted in soon after the start to obtain a position closer to the inside running rail. RAMBLIN’ MAN – Trainer J Manzelmann was fined the sum of $100 under the provisions of AR106(1) in that the gelding was presented to the Stewards for inspection without Blinkers fitted. JOEL – Raced wide for the majority. TAKEN ON CHANCE – Raced wide for the majority. The declaration of correct weight was delayed allowing Jockey C Spry (RUN RAMPANT) to view the photo. After viewing the photo, Jockey Spry was satisfied with the margin between NORWEGIAN WOOD and RUN RAMPANT and correct weight was declared on the Judge’s semaphored numbers. Race 8: CARLTON & UNITED BREWERIES BURDEKIN CUP Benchmark 70 Handicap 1830 metres LETS TORQUE A DEEL – Underwent a pre-race Veterinary examination after striking the fence when exiting the saddling enclosure and was cleared fit to start. BREAKDANCE (NZ) – Approaching the 600m attempted a marginal run, tightening MUFASTA which was racing to the inside. Jockey A Thomson was advised to exercise greater care under similar circumstances. Shifted out near the 250m carrying BERNIE’S TIGER wider. MUFASTA – Momentarily tightened when BREAKDANCE improved into a marginal run approaching the 600m. REBEL LAKE – Buffeted between runners near the 250m when BERNIE’S TIGER was carried wider. CONQUERING JUDAS – Trainer G Hughes advised that the gelding had lost its near fore plate in the running.
