GENERAL
 
Stewards approved the following rider overweights:
 
R1 – FORCESOME - S. Sheargold, +1kg
R2 – WINNING REFLECTION - S. Sheargold, +1kg
R7 – WANNA TWEET - J. Felix, +1kg
R8 – LIGHTHEADEDNESS - N. Day, +1kg
 
 
 
Race 1: BARRAMUNDI COUNTRY QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1000m
 
CANELANDER – Slow to begin. Approaching the 600m, improved onto the heels of CHAMPAGEN TILLY and elected to shift out to gain clear running.
 
MOHS SCALE – Slow to begin.
 
RISKED IT – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. In the vicinity of the 100m, momentarily shifted out.
 
CHAMPAGNE TILLY – Began awkwardly and shifted in.
SPRINGS GIFT – Approaching the 700m, improved onto the heels of RISKED IT and had to be momentarily steadied. Near the 100m was obliged to ease when tightened for running room when FORCESOME shifted in as RISKED IT simultaneously shifted out.
 
BALEXIA – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
FORCESOME – Approaching the 100m, momentarily shifted in.
 
OUR BERLINETTA – Awkward to begin. Raced keenly over the early and middle stages. Near the 600m became unbalanced for a number of strides.
 
Race 2: CAPE UPSTART QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1000m
 
IL FAGIOLO – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
OUR HEART THROB – A post-race veterinary examination revealed an inflamed left eye.
 
RISING PROPHET – Began awkwardly and shifted in. Laid in under pressure in the home straight and as a result was unable to be fully tested to the finishing line. Approaching the winning post, shifted in momentarily, tightening BETHEHORSE onto the running rail.
 
TINY MOUNTAIN – Slow to begin.
 
LAIDE – Slow to begin.
 
BETHEHORSE – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out. Approaching the 150m, rolled out under riding. Approaching the winning post was momentarily tightened when RISING PROPHET shifted in despite its rider’s efforts.

MOUNT MARGARET – Stewards approved a late gear change of blinkers on. Jumped away awkwardly and shifted in. Near the 800m, shifted in abruptly. Approaching the 150m became awkwardly placed on the heels of BETHEHORSE, who rolled out, and as a result was obliged to steady and alter course to the inside.
 
NARRABRI COCO – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 3: LIQUID GOLD CLASS 3 PLATE 1460m
 
CASTILE – Laid in over the concluding stages.
 
BELLS APPROACHING – Laid in for the majority.
 
VANCOUVER BAY – Race wide without cover for the majority.
 
BRING ME FLOWERS – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
MISTA OMEGA – Slow to begin. Restrained at the start to obtain a position closer to the rail.
 
LADY RAIN – Approaching the 1300m began to over race and as a result lost ground.
 
 
Race 4: FIELDS OF FIRE OPEN HANDICAP 1460m
 
HELL OF A BOY – Over raced during the middle stages. Raced wide with cover over the middle stages of the event.
 
LOVE ON SUNDAY – When asked to comment on the gelding’s improved performance today, trainer A. Malliff stated that in his opinion an apprentice jockey may not have been well suited to the gelding in its previous start and was better placed in today’s weaker event.
 
OVERSEAS – Slow to begin.
 
SUPREME PRINCE – Over raced during the early stages. Raced wide without cover during the middle stages of the event.
 
 
Race 5: SWEETEST TOWN BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1830m
 
MONASTERY – Was tightened at the start when MEDAL shifted in as SHADOW ECLIPSE simultaneously shifted out.
 
MEDAL – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted in.
 
RECONDITE – Raced wide without cover during the early and middle stages.
 
LETS TORQUE A DEEL – Raced wide through the middle stages of the event.
 
REBEL LAKE – Jumped the crossing and broke through the inside running rail, dislodging Apprentice N. Seymour. The gelding continued to gallop on the inside sand training track however did not impact the field. Apprentice N. Seymour was examined by QAS and was stood down from her remaining engagements. Apprentice N. Seymour was advised she would need to produce a medical clearance prior to her next engagements. Stewards permitted changes as per the race day summary.Trainer R. Gudge was advised that the gelding would now be required tobarrier trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again. A post-race veterinary examination revealed superficial lacerations to the off foreleg.
 
HUNUA HANK – Was tightened at the start when MEDAL shifted in as SHADOW ECLIPSE simultaneously shifted out.
 
SHADOW ECLIPSE – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out.
 
 
Race 6: HOME HILL CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1000m
 
THE SHERPA – Raced wide for the majority.
 
ALWAYS WRITTEN OFF – Bumped with SUPER VOGUE at the start.
 
READAPT – Began awkwardly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed mild symptoms of colic. Trainer D. Amos was advised that the gelding would require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
 
SUPER VOGUE – Bumped with ALWAYS WRITTEN OFF at the start.
 
TRINITY MISSILE – Awkward to begin. Over raced during the early and middle stages. When asked to comment on the gelding’s poor performance, Jockey C. Spry reported that his mount hung out throughout the event. Trainer S. Royes was advised that TRINITY MISSILE must barrier trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again.A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.
 
MURUNGAL – Raced wide for the majority.
 
 
Race 7: SWEET AS SUGAR BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 1000m
 
CUDYADO – Began very awkwardly and shift in abruptly before being corrected by its rider. Raced wide without cover for the majority.
 
DUSKY DAMSEL – Hampered at the start when CUDYADO shifted in abruptly. Over raced and elected to shift out wide during the middle stages of the event.
 
HALLSIDE HAMMER – Was taken out on jumping by WANNA TWEET. Raced greenly over the concluding stages.
 
WANNA TWEET – Began awkwardly and shifted out on jumping taking HALLISIDE HAMMER out. Restrained shortly after the start to gain a position closer to the inside rail and then began to over race.
 
WRITTLE – Became fractious in the barriers prior to the start.
 
Race 8: SILVERLINK RATINGS BAND 0-55 HANDICAP 1180m
 
KEIGHLEY SUN – In the vicinity of the 600m, improved onto heels and began to over race. As a result, jockey C. Spry elected to shift out to improve his position and raced wide without cover over the middle stages.
 
MILLVALE – Shifted out abruptly on jumping away.
 
TACTICAL ILLUSION – Awkward to begin and made contact with the outside gate on jumping away.
 
FUDGING – Shifted out under riding over the concluding stages.
 
BOOM RANGA – Laid in rounding the home turn.
 
DONE NOTHING – Hampered at the start when LISTEN LISTEN shifted out.
 
LISTEN LISTEN – Shifted out on jumping away, hampering DONENOTHING. Raced in restricted room over the concluding stages between FUDGING, who shifted in under riding and KEIGHLEY SUN. Jockey A. Butler was advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future.
 
 
ZAKHEERA – Slow to begin.
 
ENUFF ROSES – Over raced during the early stages of the event.
