Rider Zac Sprie reported to the Stewards that he had missed his flight from Brisbane and in consequence was unable to attend today’s meeting. 2. Rider Ashley Butler advised that he was unable to make the required weight for SUPREME PRINCE in Race 4. Connections were advised that a final warning had been placed on GETTING’ LIPPY’s racing manners. VIGANOTTO – began awkwardly.HOLD MY HALO – slow to begin. Race 2: GROWERS DAY 17TH MAY 2025 QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1000 M LOOMING ONE – slow to begin.TONATIUH – laid out after leaving the barriers and bumped with FORGETABOUTIT, losing ground.ENUFF STOP IT – jumped in at the start and bumped with SHIHO which lost ground.KUROMI SAMA – was a late scratching at 1:11pm after being kicked when behind the barriers and sustaining a laceration to the off-front leg. Trainer Ms Tracy Simmons was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the mare next racing. Deductions were First - $0.00 cents win; - $0.01 cents place; Second 2 cents place; Third $0.04 cents place.SHIHO – bumped at the start and lost ground.FORGETABOUTIT – bumped after the startHEROIC NIC – travelled 3-wide without cover throughout. Race 3:DERBY DAY 2ND NOVEMBER CLASS 3 PLATE 1830 M MISSION HOUSE – rider Jackson Murphy was reminded of his obligations when leading, after easing the tempo entering the back straight near the 1,000 metres, resulting in trailing runners being inconvenienced. KING SAMUEL – had to steady near the 1,000 metres when the tempo steadied.MELANIN (NZ) – began awkwardly and got back.PICCAPEPPA – slow to begin Race 4: TRUENORTH EQUIPMENT HIRE 0 - 55 HANDICAP 1180 M Rider Ashley Butler was unable to make the required weight for SUPREME PRINCE and was replaced by Nathan Thomas. Mr Butler admitted a resultant breach of AR190(3) and was fined $200.00LEGAL CHALLENGE – travelled wide without cover throughout.CALM IS POWER – jumped out at the start contacting the barriers and lost ground.TAHKIAN BUBBLES – hung in shortly after leaving the barriers; laid in and contacted the running rail for a distance near the 600 metres; finished well back; a post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have bled in both nostrils. Trainer Mr Peter Fleming was advised that TAHKIAN BUBBLES, for a period of 2 months, must not, without the permission of the Stewards, be trained, exercised or galloped on a racecourse, recognised training track, private training establishment, and must not start in any race for a period of 3 months, and then only after: (i) a gallop of at least 1000 metres; or (ii) an official trial or jump-out; in the presence, and to the satisfaction of a StewardMISHANI AVIATOR – travelled 3-wide without cover throughout; hung in over the concluding stages and could not be ridden to full advantage.ISSHEGREY – had difficulty obtaining clear racing room over the concluding stages. Was treated for a laceration to the right hind fetlock – consistent with the mare being galloped on during the running.VALENTINO MISS – lost the off-side hind plate near the 600 metres a post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness in the hind quarters. Mr Martin Haley, stable foreman for trainer Mr Lindsay Hatch, was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to VALENTINO MISS next racing. Race 5: FIG TREE BAR RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 HANDICAP 1180 M IRRESISTIBLE FORCE – jumped awkwardly unbalanced at the start.PARA PARK CHANCE – jumped in at the start and bumped heavily with NINE CARATS.VEE EIGHT POWER – jumped awkwardly and contacted the barriers, then checked shortly after when OH MY HAT hung out abruptly.LISTEN LISTEN – held up when making the final turn.OH MY HAT – hung out abruptly after the start; travelled wide without cover throughout. ORCA – slow into stride; had to be checked off the heels of NINE CARATS near the 50 metres.RUGGED ROY – jumped awkwardly and became unbalanced, then shifted out and bumped the hind quarters of IRRESISTIBLE FORCE which was unbalanced. Bumped over the concluding stages when inside OUR HEART THROB which laid in under pressure. Rider Denicious Smith (placed 5th) lodged a protest against 4th placed OUR HEART THROB alleging interference passing the 50 metres – protest dismissed. NINE CARATS – bumped heavily at the start.OUR HEART THROB – laid in over the concluding stages. Protest lodged by 5th placed RUGGED BOY dismissed.NO LOVE LOST – treated by the on-course veterinarian for bruising and a minor laceration to the right hind leg. Race 6: LIFE MEMBERS CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1000 M RESTRICTIONS – began awkwardly and contacted the barriers resulting in rider Nikki Olzard being briefly unbalanced.TERMINUS – hung out leaving the barriers resulting in EXTRA FREE being buffeted for a short distance.EXTRA FREE – buffeted after leaving the barriers.EXSENSIBLE – travelled 3-wide without cover throughout.HAND GRENADE – rider accidently dropped his whip passing the 150 metres.THE REAL THING – gave ground latter stages and finished well back – when questioned rider Ashley Butler stated that the gelding had raced off the bridle throughout – a post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalityHE’S ALL POWER – weakened over the concluding stages – when questioned rider Nathan Day stated that the gelding never travelled well at any stages and was disappointing – a post-race veterinary revealed the gelding to be suffering from muscle spasms, with this affliction being treated by the on-course veterinarian. Race 7: LADIES UNDER THE FIG TREES 2ND NOVEMBER BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 1000 M LILY ALLEZ (NZ) – heavily contacted near the 300 metres and briefly unbalanced.GOSSIP TORQUE – shifted out abruptly rounding the final turn, when not clear, bumping heavily with LILY ALLEZ which was unbalanced. Apprentice Julie Busuttin assisted by Senior rider Carl Spry, admitted resultant breach of AR131a and after consideration of penalty Ms Busuttin’s licence to ride in races was suspended from the close of racing on Tuesday 3rd September 2024 up to and including racing on Monday 9th September 2024.REGAL CONQUEROR – began very awkwardly unbalancing the rider. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality.TOTO – was fractious behind the barriers.MISHANI MYSTIQUE – travelled wide in the early and middle stages.KIHI – struck the barriers on jumping away and lost ground. Race 8: ERROL (LEGEND) SEWELL OPEN HANDICAP 1460 M DEEPSTRIKE (NZ) – slow to begin.TURBEAU – attempted to buck approaching the first turn and lost significant ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality. Trainer Mr Stephen Massingham was advised that the gelding must trial from the barriers prior to next racing. REGGIE'S BOY – briefly went off-stride passing the 100 metres.VENTURA OCEAN (IRE) – jumped awkwardly from the outside barrier; travelled wide throughout.UNDER THE LIMIT – was treated by the on-course veterinarian after being hit in the eye region by a clod during the running. Race 9:VALE GLORIA DAVIES BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1460 M PRINCE AKEEM – inconvenienced passing the 100 metres when BABY GUINESS shifted out.SET THE SAILS – held up rounding the final turn until passing the 150 metres.VIVACIOUS AWARD – raced keenly through the middle stages; lost off-side front plate during the running.HEARSAY – was treated by the on-course veterinarian after returning to the enclosure displaying lameness in both front legs – connections were advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the mare next racing.LADY OF FORTUNE – travelled 3-wide without cover throughout; lay in passing the 1,200 metres.
