GriffithsStewards – P. Warren, S. Nosworthy (Cadet)GENERAL Due to an electrical malfunction, all races were started manually. Race 1: SES VOLUNTEERS BENCHMARK 50 Handicap 1460M ALL POWERED UP - Trainer I. Shaw advised that it was the intention to have the gelding ridden forward if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly. FALLGUY – Became unbalanced passing the 300 metres when tiring. When questioned regarding the performance of FALLGUY, Jockey A. Holt stated that the gelding was not comfortable on the tight Home Hill track and became unbalanced when cornering. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality. GIGI FILLE – Inclined to lay in under pressure over the concluding stages. Race 2: FIRE & RESCUE OPEN PLATE 1000M BRAD – Inclined to lay in under pressure over the concluding stages. BEAUTY BOOM – Slow to begin. Race 3: VMR BENCHMARK 50 Handicap 1000MMYTHBUSTA – Began awkwardly. When questioned on the performance, Jockey A. Butler stated that MYTHBUSTA was beaten for early speed, and he elected to race off the pace and added the gelding ran home fairly. Jockey Butler stated the horse may be more suited over 1200 metres. PRIDEOFTHEBIGFISH – Inclined to lay in under pressure over the concluding stages. LOOK AT ROSA – Slow to begin. OLD FASHIONED ROSE – Reared as the start was affected and dislodged rider I. Teh shortly after. Jockey I. Teh was attended to by QAS and was cleared of any injury. Trainer M. McGuire was advised that OLD FASHIONED ROSE would require a satisfactory trial or jumpout prior to racing again. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality. VALENTINO MISS – Raced wide throughout. EXSENSIBLE – Began awkwardly. Race 4: SWIFT WATER MAIDEN PLATE 1180M POLLY HOFFA – Commended to hang out from the 700 metres onwards placing apprentice Jockey N. Olzard at a disadvantage for the remainder of the race. Trainer J. Manzelmann was advised that a warning would be placed on the filly’s racing manners. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery. Race 5: FOOD ON THE RUN QTIS BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1180M RECRUITER – Laid in over the concluding stages necessitating Jockey A. Thomson to stop riding and straighten her mount. PARA PARK CHANCE – Shortly after the start attempted to bucklosing ground at that point. Trainers representative M. Haley was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality. TURN BIRD – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination having not raced in an extended period and was passed fit to start. Began awkwardly. Inclined to lay in over the concluding stages. QUEENSLANDER – Raced wide in the middle stages.
