Race 1 - FLINDERS SHIRE COUNCIL QTIS BENCHMARK 55 Handicap QTIS: 800 metres     
 
CHARLES – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
 
FLYING MAGIC - Bumped with another runner on jumping.
 
HARCOURT STREET - Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
ROCK BABY ROCK – Raced wide most of the way.  Approaching the 100 metres was checked losing ground after a runner to the inside shifted outwards abruptly.
 
READY ZAIM FIRE – Approaching the 100 metres shifted out abruptly resulting in another runner having to be to be checked. At a subsequent inquiry, it was established that rider K. Ballard when using  the whip the mare shifted outwards abruptly without warning inconveniencing another runner which had to be checked. Stewards were also of the opinion that ROCK BABY ROLL had at this time shifted inwards marginally. Whilst Stewards noted the racing manners of the gelding Jockey K. Ballard was  severely reprimanded and advised to show greater. In arriving at this penalty, Stewards took into consideration Jockey Ballard’s exceptional safe riding record.  
 
Race 2 - NQ STEEL STOCK Ratings Band 0 - 60 Handicap 1000 metres
 
ALFIARTO – Soon after the start shifted outwards and bumped another runner. 
 
SNIPPY STRATEGIC – Bumped with another runner soon after jumping. Rider J. Babarovich was reprimanded in regards to his use of the whip prior to 100 metres.
 
CRYSTAL BEAR – Slow into stride.  Near 600 metres shifted wider on the track to avoid kickback and raced wide from that point.
 
Race 3 – FLINDERS SHIRE COUNCIL Class 6 Plate 1200 metres
 
NIGHT ATTIRE (NZ) – Late scratching at 9.30am.  Trainer Ms S. Royes severely reprimanded  re breach of LR 68(1).
 
SUGAR RAY RED – R. Hancock was a late riding engagement.  Trainer Ms S. Royes severely reprimanded  re breach of LR 67(1)
 
ROYAL SCRIPT – Slow to begin. Rider K. Ballard fined $100 in regards to his excessive use of the  whip prior to the 100 metres.
 
Race 4 -  HUGHENDEN HOTELS Class B Handicap.  1200 metres.
 
FIRE RANGER – Blundered at start losing ground. 
 
BOOTIFULBLUE – Trainer R. Burrow severely reprimanded re breach of LR 67(1) for the late declaration of R. McMahon as the rider of the rider of the horse. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
SCOTTABEE – Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
HIDONAL - Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
 
Race 5 -   HUGHENDEN SPAR SUPERMARKET BRACELET Maiden Plate 1200 metres
 
STRYKINGLY SO – Underwent prerace veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. 
 
ROCK TSAR – Began very awkwardly and had to be corrected. Raced wide rounding the home turn

FAIRMONT – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Rider R. McMahon, was severely reprimanded in re regards to his use of his whip in consecutive strides. 
 
FESTIVE REWARD – Trainer T. Parry interviewed regarding apparent improved performance of the mare today.  Trainer advised mare has had only two starts in the west since arriving from the south and both of those starts had been at Mt Isa, which she now believes the mare does not handle.  Explanation noted.
