QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT HUGHENDEN JOCKEY CLUB SATURDAY 15 JULY 2023 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – DIRT RAIL – TRUE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – D Griffiths Stewards – S Nosworthy (Cadet Steward)Clerk of Scales – StewardsJudge – B.ClimieVeterinarian – Dr. L HarrimonStarter – J.Godfrey General: As apprentice jockey S.Nielson was ill and not riding at today’s meeting, changes were made as per the Steward’s Summary. Stewards approved the following over-weights:Race 2 – D.Graham +0.5kg Scratchings: Race 1: RAY WHITE RURAL Maiden Place 1000 metres ORCUS – Slow to begin. POSITIVE REWARD – Began awkwardly. Jockey J Babarovich reported at scale the gelding changed strides in the middle stages on a number of occasions and raced ungenerously. SINGLE MALT- Reared at the start and lost considerable ground. SENKO – Jumped awkwardly. Race 2: 5M LIVESTOCK Class B Handicap 1000 metres GREAT IAM – Stewards permitted jockey D.Ballard to ride his mount +0.5kg overweight due to no other available rider. ZOROSSA – Raced wide for the majority. MILLVALE – Slow into stride then ridden forward to maintain a position on speed. SPOTTED WONDER – Raced wide for the majority. OUTBACK STEP – Resented kickback in the early stages. MADONNA FALLS – Reared upon jumping. Race 3: VIPER WATER SOLUTIONS BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1200 metres GOLDEN ATHENA – Slow into stride. JABALI GOLD – Jumped awkwardly. MOPAR – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. CRAIGLEA ALTONA – Raced wide in the middle stages. Race 4: COLEMAN STOCKFEEDS QTIS RATINGS BAND 0-50 Handicap 1400 metres BOLD ENFORCER - Stewards permitted jockey D.Ballard to ride his mount +0.5kg overweight due to no other available rider. Raced wide in the middle part of the event. SIZZLING RIVER – Bumped with MILKY ROCKET upon jumping. MILKY ROCKET – Bumped with SIZZLING RIVER upon jumping. EXALTED – Raced wide in the early stages. Race 5: MD HUNTER EARTHMOVING HUGHENDEN CUP OPEN Handicap 1400 metres SAVVY LEGEND – Slow into stride. DUSKY DAMSEL – Approaching the 400-metre point DUSKY DAMSEL when leading, blundered and lost ground. Jockey J Babarovich reported that the mare had struck a soft patch on the track at that point and became unbalanced. ZOOMARATTA – Raced wide for the majority of the event. VANDANGLE – Raced wide for the majority of the event. DANAWI – Slow to begin.
