Race 1: VIPER WATER SOLUTIONS CLASS B Handicap 1000M
 
Trainer T Parry was reprimanded pursuant to AR 194 for failing to present runners BITTERBLUE (NZ) and MISS BOUCHARD into the enclosure by the prescribed time.
 
SEENUCOMING – Bumped with BITTERBLUE (NZ) on jumping. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
BITTERBLUE (NZ) – Bumped with SEENUCOMING on jumping. Contacted the running rail then became unbalanced and blundered passing the 500 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
NORTHERN GIRL – Slow into stride
 
YANIT – Raced three-wide throughout.
 
Race 2: GREAT WESTERN HOTEL Maiden Plate 1000M
 
BENTER – Shifted out shortly after the start. Raced wide throughout.
 
ELECTRIC HASHMAL – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Passing the 100 metres, hung in for several strides causing apprentice jockey K. Lenton to stop riding and straighten her mount.
 
KNOCK’EM DEAD KID – Finished distanced from the field. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer S. Royes was advised not to start KNOCK’EM DEAD KID until she is satisfied the horse will be competitive.
 
TUCK – Slow into stride then ridden forward to gain a leading position.
 
TIANALYSA – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start then began awkwardly. Brushed with another runner passing the 850 metres.
 
WAGONGA – Passing the 850 metres, shifted out abruptly and brushed with TIANALYSA.
 
Race 3: HUGHENDEN FREIGHT & INDUSTRIAL BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1200M
 
GREENHEART – Delayed the start after breaking through the front of the barriers after being loaded on the first occasion. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to race. Lost the off-fore plate in the home straight.
 
TRINITY MISSILE – Raced wide throughout.
 
CLOGS – Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 4: ROYAL HOTEL QTIS RATINGS BAND 0 – 50 Handicap 1400M
 
ANOTHER JACK – Slow into stride. Held up rounding the home turn before shifting around the heels of MALABAR PRINCE to gain clear running passing the 200 metres. Laid in over the concluding stages.
 
ANOTHER TOSSER – Slow into stride. Raced wide throughout.
 
FAR REACHING – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
THE LANDING – Laid out over the concluding stages.
 
Race 5: PRARIE SERVICES HUGHENDEN CUP Handicap 1400M
 
SOUTH PARADE – Began awkwardly. Held up for a short distance rounding the home turn.
 
REFORMIST – Shifted out at the start.
 
ZOOMARATTA – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
COUNT OF CARFORD – Began awkwardly.  
 
TEXAS STORM – Raced wide in the early stages. When questioned on the improved performance, Trainer T. Parry stated that the horse didn’t appreciate the kickback at Mount Isa on Monday 15 July, which was the first race start for connections. She advised that the horse usually races on the speed, however because of the kickback settled back in the field last start. Trainer Parry further stated that the instructions today were to settle the gelding further forward and TEXAS STORM was ridden accordingly. Stewards noted the explanation.
 
ONTHETAKE – Raced wide in the early stages. Laid in over the concluding stages.
