There was a slight delay to the start of race one awaiting the saddle cloths to arrive on course.

Race 1: GAVIN GROVES PLUMBING MAIDEN PLATE 1000 metres

There was a further delay to the start of race one as MISSY EM underwent a veterinary inspection after doing a lap of the entire track prior to racing.

THE LANDING – Eased off heels near the 800m when another runner shifted ground. Raced awkwardly in the early stages.

HEAVEN BLESS – Slow to begin and slow into stride then travelled wide for much of the race to avoid the dusty track conditions.

MISSY EM – Completed a lap of the track prior to the race, as the mare would not pull up at the barriers. Underwent a veterinary inspection prior to racing and was passed fit to race. Raced greenly in the early stages of the race.

UNLEISHA – Moved ground slightly near the 800m inconveniencing another runner.

Race 2: JONES LIVESTOCK TRANSPORT QTIS BM 55 HANDICAP 1000 metres

HOT CHOCOLATE was a late scratching at 12:00pm due to no rider being available.

There was a delay to the start of this race as jockey D. Graham was attended to by ambulance officers for dehydration behind the barrier stalls. On advice from ambulance officials D. Graham was stood down for the remainder of the day. D. Graham was advised a medical clearance would be required prior to riding again. OUR SAY was a late scratching at 2:21pm with deductions given with correct weight and all monies invested on OUR SAY refunded. Deductions of 20 cents in the face value of win bets and 16 cents in the face value for place bets were announced.

TAN DINH – Sustained an injury to the offside leg at the 50m mark of the event and pulled up extremely lame. A veterinary inspection revealing a fracture to the knee and the mare was then humanely euthanised.

BLADE MAN – Travelled wide for much of the race to avoid the dusty conditions.

ASBURY PARK – Bounded awkwardly out of the gates.

CHEEKY CHOPS – Slow into the stride and travelled wide for much of the race.


Race 3: ILFRACOMBE VAN PARK QTIS BM 55 HANDICAP 1000 metres

ALGEROBA was a late scratching at 2.35pm due to jockey D. Graham being stood down for the day for medical reasons.

ONE MORE PINOT – Eased at the 800m when racing in restricted room.

BETTER NOT BLINK – Jumped outwards contacting SPICE TRADER. Clipped heels and dipped nearing the 900m had had to check when an outside runner shifted ground.

OLIFANTS – Approaching the 900m was tending to lay inwards and over corrected outwards inconveniencing BETTER NOT BLINK. Jockey B. Richardson was charged under AR131(a) and her licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of eight days from midnight 11.09.2021 to midnight 19.09.2021.

SPICE TRADER – Contacted at the start, travelled wide for much of the race and finished tailed off.


Race 4: SCOTT BROS CONSTRUCTION OPEN HANDICAP 1000 metres

B. Moffat was the replacement rider for DRAYMAN and permitted to ride 2kg overweight.

BETTER THAN GOLD – Saddle slipped shortly after the start causing the mare to buck and pigroot. Jockey E. Bell withdrew the horse from the event due to safety concerns.

ZILITOR – Slow into stride.

DRAYMAN – Travelled wide for much of the race.


Race 5: HOAD CARPENTRY CLASS B HANDICAP 1200 metres

BOOMING TOWN and MRS SENNA were late scratchings due to no riders being available.

BARBICAN was a late scratching at 2:35 with jockey D. Graham being stood down for the day.

BOLD SPICE – Slow into stride.

COLOUR CHART – Slow into stride and travelled wide for much of the race.


Race 6: REECE WHYTE CONTRACTING BM 65 HANDICAP 1200 metres

Jockey E. Bell was the replacement rider on SIDETRIP.

DONE IT AGAIN – Started strongly then trailed off to the tail of the field. Jockey B. Moffat stated in his opinion the gelding was feeling the hard nature of the track in the latter stages and didn’t respond to his riding. A post-race veterinary inspection revealed no major abnormalities.

MUSIC AWARD – Bounded out of the gates.

KALMAR – Jumped outwards contacting SIDETRIP.

SIDETRIP – Contacted at the start.

Race 7: WELLSHOT HOTEL OPEN HANDICAP 1400 metres

Jockey J. Missen was the replacement rider on I WANNA BE A JEEP.

VAN WINKLE – After leading in the early and middle stages finished tailed off. Jockey B. Moffat advised in his opinion the gelding couldn’t stretch out in the latter stages due to the hardness of the track. A post-race veterinary inspection revealed no abnormalities.

BURDEN – Jumped away awkwardly and travelled wide in the early stages.

I WANNA BE A JEEP – Jumped away awkwardly.

THAT SONG – Contacted at the start losing ground when runners either side jumped awkwardly.

BRIS VEGAS – Over raced in the early stages.
