Race 1: SID SADLIER MEMORIAL/INGHAM TRAVEL QTIS Maiden Plate 1200 metres:
1st – WULFIES LADY    2ND – ELUSIVE 3RD –  OUR UNIVERSAL STAR    4TH – GLOW LION GO
 
OUR UNIVERSAL STAR – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
JUSTIFICATION – Tightened for room on jumping, clipped heels and blundered losing ground.
 
EXPLOSIVE LAD – Upon return to scale Jockey K Aho reported the outside barrier gate swung back after opening and struck her mount momentarily hampering the gelding. Jockey K Aho sustained a minor injury to her left toe however was fit to fulfil her remaining engagements. Barrier staff undertook to rectify the problem and tested the barriers prior to the next race.
 
Race 2: STOKES & COMPANY Benchmark 60 Handicap 1200 metres:
1ST –  SERGEANT SHRIVER   2ND –  WINDMILL LANE  3RD – LADY FOXY    4TH – SLIPPERY SAGA
 
STIEG – Raced wide throughout.
 
MOLONGLE CHIEF – Raced wide throughout.
 
SLIPPERY SAGA – Upon return to scale Jockey G Kliese reported the outside barrier gate swung back after opening and struck his mount momentarily hampering the gelding.
 
Following this race barrier staff undertook further action to rectify the outside gate on barrier stall ten replacing the suction cap and conducting further tests to ensure the barrier gate was effective in it’s action.
 
Race 3: ZEST FINANCIAL SOLUTIONS Class B Handicap 1000 metres:
1ST – SABA LASS         2ND – GANGSTER SQUAD  3RD – CHAT TIME    4TH – MOLONGLE HERO
 
MOLONGLE HERO – Crowded shortly after the start.
 
SYNFUL – Raced wide throughout.
 
SECOND TIME AROUND – Raced wide throughout.
 
AESOP – Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 4: TREBONNE HOTEL Benchmark 45 Handicap 1400 metres:
1ST – GLAMORGAN BABE        2ND – SAPODILLA         3RD – ULTRA RED        4TH – NYMBOI
 
GLAMORGAN BABE – Slow to begin.
 
REGENCY ROYALE – Dipped in the back straight and was reluctant to stretch out for the remainder. Trainer Mr S Potiris advised Stewards the gelding would be retired from racing.
 
LEGENDARY PLUME – Over raced for a short distance near the 800 metres.
 
GOD’S REWARD – Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 5: BUNDABERG RUM Benchmark 60 Handicap 1600 metres:
1ST – GREAT PRETENDER       2ND – CARLSON’S FELT           3RD – OUR SINGLE DOUBT       4TH – WANTABETHEONE
 
CARACAS – Slow to begin.
 
DEEMINISHING – Stood flat footed as the start was effected losing considerable distance. Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
CARLSON’S FELT – Raced three wide for the majority.
 
FILLE VILLAINE – Over raced through the early and middle stages.
 
WANTABETHEONE – When questioned regarding her riding in the home straight Jockey B Thomson advised Stewards the gelding was inclined to hang out under pressure and additionally the bit had twisted in the gelding’s mouth giving her limited control over the horse therefore she desisted from riding her mount out with her usual vigour. Stewards noted her explanation.
 
Leaving the 1200 metres OUR SINGLE DOUBT (J Felix) commenced to overrace and improved to the inside of FILLE VILLAINE (G Kliese) which was also overracing at the time causing OUR SINGLE DOUBT to race in restricted room for a short distance. Both horses continued to overrace for some distance.
