Gardner GENERAL: Cairns Amateurs 2 September 2017 Race 7 Carlton Mid Cairns Amateur Cup Open HHcap 2100M Rider P. Cullen pleaded guilty to a charge under AR137(5)(A)(ii) in that as the rider of MAJOR MAJOR, he used his whip in an excessive manner prior to the 100m. Mr Cullen was fined the sum of $500.00 RACE 1: HINCHINBROOK SHIRE COUNCIL QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1200M CHEERS FOR AUSBRED Stood flatfooted and lost considerable ground. Raced wide for the majority of the race. Trainer W. Baker was advised a warning would be placed on the marees barrier manners. JACK NN EYE Slow to begin. Rider F. Edwards reported the gelding did not appreciate the firmness of todayys track surface. OUR ATOM Over-raced in the early stages. Laid out near the 800m and again near 400m. SHAMELESS LOVE Rider reported he felt the filly got its tongue over the bit and was not comfortable on todayys track surface. MIGHTY MEERKAT Raced wide for the majority of the race. HUNTING Raced wide for the majority of the race. HATZ ON Rider reported the gelding was reluctant to improve in between runners in the early and middle stages of the race and in her opinion was not comfortable on todayys track surface. Following this event, Stewards heard from a delegation of senior riders into their concerns about the hardness of todays racing surface. After further consultation, all parties were agreeable to proceed with the meeting. > RACE 2: NQIB BENCHMARK 55 HHCAP 1200MM EGIPTIENNE Very fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Slow to begin. Finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Connections advised it is now their intention to retire the gelding following todayys performance. Mr Potiris was nonetheless advised the gelding must compete in two consecutive trials to the satisfaction of stewards before being permitted race again. ULTRA RED Slow to begin. WE FOUND IT Raced wide in the early stages. MUNJIZ Raced wide for the majority of the race without cover. SERGEANT SHRIVER Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages. RACE 3: COSCER FINANCIAL PROFESSIONALS BENCHMARK 45 1400MM ALL GIRLS ROCK Slow to begin. BEYOND Slow to begin. Raced wide with no cover for the majority of the race. LOOK FOR ROSIE Raced wide for the majority of the race. BALLERDEE BOB Raced wide in the stages of the race. AESOP Raced wide in the early stages of the race. RACE 4: DEVIETTI HOLDEN CLASS B HHCAP 1000MM Stewards exceeded to a request from trainer R. Baker for NICCS TIME to be declared a late scratching at 11.45am due to the firmness of todayys track surface. DELTA MAGIC Began awkwardly and shifted out bumping another runner. MY GIRL CHAZ Bumped by another runner on jumping. Raced wide for the majority of the race. SEEKTOWIN Blundered on its own accord shortly after the start. DOUBLE FORTUNE Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race. JOHNNY FIX IT Raced wide for the majority of the race. RACE 5: INGHAM FARM CENTRE & PICKLES AUCTIONS CLASS 4 HHCAP 1000M MOLONGLE CHIEF Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race. IN HIS ELEMENT Raced wide for the majority of the race. CRAIGLEA ODYSSEY Raced wide for the majority of the race without cover. RACE 6: ICON INGHAM CONCRETE OPEN HHCAP 1300MM DONNT TELL PETE Raced wide in the early and middle stages of the race. BRADMAN Over-raced in the early stages of the race. RACE 7: CELLARBRATIONS INGHAM GOLD CUP BENCHMARK 60 HHCAP 2000M THE PRINCIPAL Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. GLANMORGAN BABE Began awkwardly. GORGEOUS RYDER Wide in the early stages of the race. CAPITANEAR Shifted wider near the 1100m to improve and raced wide from that point onwards. AWSOME SIGHT When questioned into the riding tactics of the mare today rider A. Thomson stated her instructions were to ride the horse back in the field however after beginning well commenced to race strongly and she was unable to restrain her mount which resulted in the gelding racing in a forward position. Trainer J. Manzelmann confirmed the instructions and was disappointed the horse was unable to ridden accordingly. LADY OF DARKNESS Rider J.
