QUEENSLAND RACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT HERBERT RIVER JOCKEY CLUB INGHAM – SUNDAY 13th March 2022 WEATHER – Showers TRACK RATING – Soft 6 Races 1 and 2. Heavy 8 Race 3. RAIL – In True Position OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – D LaneSteward – D Griffiths, P LaneClerk of Scales – StewardsJudge – R BallardVeterinarian/Sample Collection Officer – D VieroStarter – J Cullen SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTBowen Tuesday 1st February 2022 RACE 6. S&W CRANE HIRE CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1280M Stewards have concluded an inquiry into the reason why Jockey S Pawsey was dislodged from MISHANI REBEL at a point near the 650m. After hearing evidence from relevant parties and viewing available patrol footage, it was established that soon after being crossed passing the 800m by RED PERONI (W D’Avila), MISHANI REBEL commenced to over-race, and continued to do so for some considerable distance despite Jockey Pawsey’s efforts to restrain the gelding. As a result, MISHANI REBEL, which was racing to the inside of SOUND OF SLEAT (D Smith) approaching the 650m, became very awkwardly placed on the heels of RED PERONI, clipping that gelding’s heels, blundering and dislodging Jockey Pawsey, who sustained multiple injuries in the incident. As it was evident, from the patrol footage, that the incident was attributable almost solely to the racing manners of MISHANI REBEL, no action was taken against any individual rider. Race 1: INGHAM CELLARBRATIONS QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1000m ARMAGEDDON FLYER – Jockey F Edwards, who was unable to fulfil his engagement to ride the gelding, was replaced by S Sheargold. Prior to the declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered that all monies wagered on TOP CEEDEE be refunded in full, and further, that deductions of 39 cents in the dollar win and 23 cents in dollar place on the face value of the betting ticket be made applicable to all successful wagers made on the event prior to the time of scratching. Trainer D Paradise was advised that the filly would be required to obtain a barrier certificate prior to again starting in a race. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed bruising to the head of the filly. ROYAL RUSKI – Shifted out abruptly passing the 200m. SUNNY EKCELS – Inclined to lay in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Race 2: INGHAM MAZDA & INGHAM CONCRETE CLASS B HANDICAP 1000m TIDEWAY – As App J Edwards was unable to ride at the allocated weight, she was subsequently replaced by App O Kendal as the rider of the mare. TATACHILLA – As Jockey J Felix was unable to ride at the allocated weight, he was subsequently replaced by Jockey L Morrison as the rider of the mare. Jockey J Felix advised Stewards that he was to be overweight on his engagements in Race 3 and Race 5. Jockey J Felix was fined the sum of $200.00 under the provisions of AR190(3).
