GENERAL

Stewards approved the following rider overweights:

Race 1: AMBER ROCK – S. Sheargold + 0.5kg
Race 6: LIPEANSASS – S. Sheargold + 0.5kg

Following the running of Race 1, Jockey M. Abe rider of MYZAH was fined $500 pursuant to AR 185 for changing his boots after weighing out.

Race 1: COSCA ACCOUNTANTS QTIS Maiden Plate 1400 metres

NONNO JOE – Became fractious in the mounting yard and dislodged its rider. Jockey F. Edwards was examined by the on-course QAS and cleared to ride in the event.

EYE OF RA – Awkward to begin.

THE MANIPULATOR – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not racing for an extended period of time and cleared to start.
AMBER ROCK – Shifted out on jumping and made contact with the barriers. Jockey S. Sheargold reported that he was concerned that the gates may have struck AMBER ROCK in the head on jumping, and as a result elected to restrain his mount and ease out of today’s event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

ATHENA’S SECRET – Permission was granted for Apprentice J. Doolan to not claim any of her 2kg allowance. Apprentice J. Doolan was fined $100 pursuant to AR143(14)(a) in that she failed to claim her full allowance. Slow to begin. Laid in in the straight.
MY DAD’S BETTER – Raced wide without cover over the early stages.

UNTOLD CHOICE – Underwent a pre-race veterinary inspection on arrival at the course after being delayed due to transport difficulties and was cleared to start. Slow into stride. Hung out severely throughout. Trainer S. Seymour advised that the mare would now be retired.
DENNYMO MAGIC – Shifted out rounding the home turn. When questioned Jockey P. Cullen reported that upon entering the home straight, he improved on to the heels of MY DAD’S BETTER who was weakening and as a result, had no other option than to shift to the outside of ATHENA’S SECRET to gain clear running.


Race 2: INGHAM CONCRETE & INGHAM TRAVEL BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1400 metres

SONOFTHEBEST – Shifted out on jumping away. Raced wide without cover during the middle stages.

EROE – Underwent a pre-race veterinary inspection after biting the mesh of the race day stalls and was cleared to start. Dislodged its rider enroute to the barriers. Jockey S. Sheargold was examined by the on-course QAS and cleared to ride in the event. Approaching 1200m had to be aware of the heels of HYPOTHESIZE who shifted in, and as a result was obliged to race in restricted room between SPANISH BEANS and the rail momentarily.

DIDN’T ASK ME – Began awkwardly and shifted out on jumping. Approaching the 1200m, had to be aware of the heels of HYPOTHESIZE who shifted in.

SPANISH BEANS – Approaching 1200m had to be aware of the heels of HYPOTHESIZE who shifted in, and as a result was obliged to race in restricted room between DIDN’T ASK ME and EROE momentarily.

SEBROSSA – Failed to muster early speed.

HYPOTHESIZE – Permission was granted for Apprentice J. Doolan to only claim 1kg of her 2kg allowance. Apprentice J. Doolan was fined $100 pursuant to AR143(14)(a) in that she failed to claim her full allowance. Apprentice J. Doolan reported that her mount raced ungenerously during the early stages and failed to muster speed when asked for an effort. Approaching 1200m, shifted in to obtain a position closer to the rail, momentarily inconveniencing DIDN’T ASK ME, SPANISH BEANS and EROE who had to be aware of heels. Apprentice J. Doolan was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) and advised to take greater care when shifting ground in future. Approaching the 200m rolled out marginally, and as a result, DIDN’T ASK ME who was improving into a tight run between HYPOTHESIZE and SON OF ABEAST was obliged to momentarily steady and became unbalanced for a stride. Laid in under pressure in the straight. In the vicinity of the 150m rolled in marginally and as a result EROE was obliged to be steadied. Apprentice J. Doolan was severely reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for allowing her mount to shift ground when insufficiently clear.

Race 3: SCOTT GIBSON/ MATTEO’S PAINTING SERVICE BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1000m
HIT SNOOZE – Awkward to begin. Laid in under pressure in the straight carrying SUPPOSEDLY WICKED in onto KEFALONIA who was momentarily tightened against the rail. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

KEFALONIA – In the vicinity of the 150m was momentarily tightened against the rail when SUPPOSEDLY WICKED was carried in by HIT SNOOZE who was laying in.

SUPPOSEDLY WICKED – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not racing for an extended period of time and cleared to start. In the vicinity of the 150m was crowded between HIT SNOOZE who rolled in and KEFALONIA.
FUDGING – Raced wide with cover during the early and middle stages.

AURA GOLD – Raced wide without cover throughout.

THE LOUT - As Jockey M. Abe was unable to ride the allocated weight, he was replaced by Apprentice L. Guernier. Permission was granted for Apprentice L. Guernier to ride +1kg due to her minimum riding weight and as there was no other rider available. In the vicinity of the 900m obliged to be aware of heels when LOBORN LASS who shifted in to obtain a position closer to the rail.

Race 4: NQIB BENCHMARK 45 Handicap 1200 metres

TACTICAL ILLUSION – Shortly after the start shifted in, to improve into a forward position closer to the rail. Inclined to lay in. Apprentice J. Doolan reported that her mount raced ungenerously and was inclined to lay in.

KOHEETO – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not racing for an extended period of time and cleared to start. Laid in under pressure in the straight
CAT IN THE RAINE – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Raced wide for the majority. A post-race veterinary inspection revealed no visible abnormalities.

ARTIEBE – Shifted out on jumping away. Failed to improve when asked for an effort in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

ANSELMO – Jockey S. Sheargold was reminded of his obligations to ride his mount out fully to the line.

Race 5: INGHAM MAZDA BEANCHMARK 45 Handicap 1200 metres

KISS GOODBYE – Raced wide with cover over the early and middle stages.

MISHANI REBOUND – Shifted out on jumping away.

REGAL EMPRESS – Awkward to begin.

BIG BAZ – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers as Jockey S. Sheargold was concerned with the gelding’s action and was cleared to start. Very awkward to begin and shifted out abruptly making contact with the barriers and consequently was then taken out onto DUBAI EAGLE. Trainer T. McGovern was fined $200 pursuant to AR165(3) for leaving the course early with BIG BAZ.

DUBAI EAGLE – Momentarily inconvenienced and obliged to be aware of heels at the start when BIG BAZ shifted out and bumped with DEORA which then carried DUBAI EAGLE out. Raced wide without cover.

DEORA – Was bumped and carried out at the start by BIG BAZ.

Race 6: INGHAM CELLARBRATIONS INGHAM GOLD CUP BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 2000 metres

PORTNOY – Began awkwardly and as a result was slow into stride.

LIPENSASS – Shifted in on jumping.

REBEL LAKE – Raced wide over the early and middle stages. When asked to comment on the gelding’s poor performance, Trainer R. Gudge stated that in his opinion REBEL LAKE was not suited to the track.

WHY WOULDN’T YOU – Shifted out on jumping. Raced wide without cover over the early and middle stages.
