SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
Dalby – Tuesday, 6 June 2023 Race 7: TAB BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP (800m)

OTELO – Trainer R. Hilton subsequently advised the gelding was found to have minor lacerations to its hind-legs following interference suffered at the 500m mark, however had otherwise pulled up well.
 
GENERAL
 
The following horse was declared a late scratching at 10:30am when no rider was available:
Race 2, No. 6 VINIGARETTE
 
Stewards permitted the following overweights when no other riders were available at/or near the advertised weight.
Race 1, No. 5 PARA PARK MAKEUP – N. Fazackerley +0.5kg over the allotted weight of 57kg.
Race 2, No. 7 OLD TOWN ROAD – C. Rogers +0.5kg over the allotted weight of 56kg.
Race 3, No. 5 RIPOVA – N. Fazackerley +1.5kg over the allotted weight of 56kg.
Race 5, No. 5 UNRESTRICTED – C. Rogers +0.5kg over the allotted weight of 56kg.
Race 5, No. 6 BUSHIDO – N. Fazackerley +1.5kg over the allotted weight of 56kg.
 
When Apprentice R. Wedrat-Kroezen was unable to fulfill her remaining engagements due to injury, Stewards permitted the following changes:
Race 4, No. 2 LASCO – Apprentice D. Bennett
Race 5, No. 2 HANOVER SQAURE – Rider L. Miller (no other available rider)
 
 
Race 1: LANGTON RURAL SERVICES & RURAL INSURANCE QTIS MAIDEN PLATE (1000m)
 
BOOM THE GREAT – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a suspected injury to its off-foreleg which required veterinary treatment. Trainer W. Pugsley was advised the gelding would require a full veterinary clearance prior to racing again. Stewards will follow up on the condition of the gelding in the coming days.
 
MARTY AWHA – Declared a late scratching at 1:07pm when the gelding refused to load. Prior to the declaration of correct weight all monies invested on the gelding were ordered to be refunded with the following deduction applicable to all wagers placed prior to 1:07pm:
 
47 cents in the dollar for the win
35 cents in the dollar for the place
 
Trainer Mr L. Mawn was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s record for its barrier manners.
 
CORKED CHAOS – Began only fairly and then failed to show sufficient speed and tailed off from the remainder of the field. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
PARA PARK MAKEUP – Stewards permitted Rider N. Fazackerley to ride 0.5kg over the allotted weight of 57kg when no other rider was available at or near the weight. N. Fazackerley was fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of AR190(3).
 
 
Race 2: SUFFCON & IOR PETRELOUM BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP (1000m)
 
ANGELS OF FENWAY – Laid in under pressure in the early part of the home straight.
 
NOT LIABLE – Slow to begin.
 
IN’HINCHABLE – Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
EARLY PLEA – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
VINAIGRETTE – Stewards declared the gelding a late scratching at 10:30am when no rider was available.
 
OLD TOWN ROAD – Stewards permitted C. Rogers to ride 0.5kg over the allotted weight of 56kg.
 
 
Race 3: INJUNE CYPRESS, BLACK TOYOTA & SIGNASAURAUS CLASS B HANDICAP (1200m)
 
Correct weight was delayed allowing QAS officers to attend to Apprentice R. Wedrat-Kroezen who was dislodged upon pulling up. When it became apparent that Apprentice Wedrat-Kroezen would be unable to weigh in, Stewards declared correct weight under AR 208(3)(b) as they were of the opinion the gelding had carried its allocated weight.
 
HYPERVELOCITY – Hung-out for majority of the event. Commenced to shift ground under pressure in the home straight before being corrected by its rider. When attempting to pull-up passing the winning post, commenced to hang-out and proved difficult to restrain, contacting the outside running rail on several occasions before attempting to jump the outside running rail at the 1400m chute and falling. Apprentice R. Wedrat-Kroezen was immediately attended to by QAS officers and transported to hospital for further evaluation and assessment. A post-race veterinary examinations revealed significant lacerations to the gelding’s near-side shoulder and near-foreleg which required treatment. Trainer C. Johnstone was advised that a full veterinary clearance would be required prior to the gelding being required to barrier trial/jump-out due to its racing manners prior to racing again.
 
RASPBERRY BULLETS – Apprentice S. Wilcock was permitted to ride the filly 0.5kg over her minimum riding weight of 57kg when no other rider was available at or near the weight. Trainer’s Representative Ms B. Waldrom was reprimanded under AR190(3) in that they failed to declare that Apprentice Wilcock would be riding the filly overweight when they had been advised by Apprentice Wilcock that she would be unable to make the allocated weight of 56kg.                                                                                                
 
UNITARY – Began awkwardly.
 
RIPOVA – Stewards permitted Rider N. Fazackerley to ride 1.5kg over the allotted weight of 56kg when no other rider was available at or near the weight. N. Fazackerley was fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of AR190(3).
 
Race 4: NUTRIEN RATINGS BAND 0-55 HANDICAP (1400m)
 
THE SABBATH – Performed below expectations. Rider N. Fazackerley could provide no explanation for the disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
LASCO – Stewards permitted Apprentice D. Bennett to be declared the replacement rider of the gelding when Apprentice R. Wedrat-Kroezen was unable to fulfill her engagement. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
GHETTO – Raced keenly in the early stages. Raced in restricted room over concluding stages, when tightened between OAKFIELD BLOSSOM and LASCO.
 
 
Race 5: SANTOS INJUNE CUP OPEN HANDICAP (1400m)
 
HANOVER SQUARE – Stewards permitted Rider L. Miller to be declared the replacement rider of the gelding when Apprentice R. Wedrat-Kroezen was unable to fulfill her engagement (no other available rider). Rider L. Miller advised it had not been his intention to lead, however the gelding commenced to over-race and he subsequently elected to allow his mount to stride forward.
 
LAST ARMAGEDDON – Began awkwardly.
 
UNRIESTRICTED – Stewards permitted C. Rogers to ride 0.5kg over the allotted weight of 56kg. Performed below expectations. Rider C. Rogers could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance, other than that the gelding failed to let-down as expected and became under pressure entering the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
BUSHIDO - Stewards permitted Rider N. Fazackerley to ride 1.5kg over the allotted weight of 56kg when no other rider was available at or near the weight. N. Fazackerley was fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of AR190(3).
