Race 1: Cumic Steel QTIS Class 2 Handicap 900 metres:
1st – MINNIE STREET 2nd – ZOE BAY 3rd – WE FOUND IT 4th – SAPODILLA
THE HAWK ETERNAL – Was slowly away.
GIVE ME TIME – Was slowly into stride.
MINNIE STREET – App E Cass reported that the filly was inclined to hang out in the middle stages. Was quickly straightened after shifting in abruptly near the 200 metres.
LEGENDARY PLUME – Was inclined to shift out under pressure down the running.
Race 2: Brothers League Club Maiden Plate 1100 metres:
1st – MOUNTAIN LANE 2nd – BAR BABY 3rd – PHANTOM SOX 4th – HONEST FRIEND
PINK BARBIE – Was fractious in the barriers.
LATEST EDITION – Knuckled over on jumping and dislodged App N A Yadi soon after. App Yadi who sustained an injury to his right leg in the incident was transported to Innisfail Hospital for treatment and was released soon after. Substitute riders were engaged for App Yadi’s remaining mounts. App Yadi was advised that he would be required to provide a Medical Clearance prior to being permitted to ride in races again.
COLOUR PARADE – Attempted to buck soon after the start. Was inclined to lay out under pressure down the running. Trainer Mr.S Massingham was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners which would be monitored at future starts.
CENTREHALF FORWARD – Was caught wide without cover for the majority of the event.
I’M RURRBELLIOUS – Was caught wide without cover for the majority of the event.
Following the running of this event Stewards downgraded the Track Rating from a GOOD 4 To a SOFT 5.
Race 3: Jim Beam Class 4 Handicap 1200 metres:
1st – SERGEANT SHRIVER 2nd – SHERIDAN 3rd – STRICTLY MAGIC 4th – I’M MARIAH(NZ)
As no other suitable rider was available Stewards permitted W D’Avila to replace App N A Yadi as the rider of HARVEY THE RABBIT.
AIR OF HEAVEN- Refused to load. Withdrawn at 2:41pm. Prior to declaration of Correct Weight Stewards ordered that all monies wagered on AIR OF HEAVEN be refunded in full and further that deductions of 16 cents in the dollar win and 14 cents in the dollar place on the face value of the betting ticket be applied to all winning wagers placed prior to 2:41pm. Trainer Ms. J Ball was advised that the mare would be required to obtain one (1) further Barrier Certificate prior to being permitted to race again.
THE PRINCIPAL – Was slowly into stride after jumping awkwardly.
I’M MARIAH(NZ) – Jumped out at the start bumping with another runner. Had to be restrained for a few strides near the 800 metres when crowded to the inside of another runner which was inclined to hang in.
SHERIDAN – Was inconvenienced at the start when crowded between runners.
HARVEY THE RABBIT – Jumped in at the start bumping with another runner.
STRICTLY MAGIC – Was inconvenienced soon after the start by another runner which shifted in abruptly. Was hampered near the 600 metres when crowded for racing room by a runner to its outside which was inclined to hang in.
MELAKAI – Shifted in abruptly on jumping inconveniencing another runner. Hung in near the 800 metres crowding a runner to its inside. Continued to hang in near the 500 metres placing a runner to its inside in restricted racing room. App N Nelson was instructed to exercise more care in similar circumstances. Trainer Mr. R Nelson was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners which would be monitored at future starts.
Race 4: Lamanna Banana Benchmark 55 Handicap 1200 metres:
1st – DUKE OF CAMBRIDGE 2nd – BOLT FROM THE BLUE 3rd – STANDFORD 4th – STARLIGHT BELLE
DUKE OF CAMBRIDGE – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
DUKE CELESTE – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Shifted out under pressure near the 150 metres inconveniencing another runner. Jockey K Rockett was instructed to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
LIDEEM – Was slowly into stride.
DASH OF BLACK – Was caught wide without cover in the middle stages.
STANDFORD – Was caught wide without cover for the majority of the event.
STARLIGHT BELLE – Was inconvenienced soon after the start when crowded between runners. Was further inconvenienced near the 150 metres by another runner which was shifting out under pressure.
Race 5: MSF Sugar Johnstone River Open Handicap 1200 metres:
1st – CHATEAU DETTORI 2nd – MIN MIN MAN 3rd – MIATA 4th – KING MAGNUSSON
As no other suitable rider was available Stewards permitted M Abe to replace App N A Yadi as the rider of BOOM SHA LA.
KING MAGNUSSON – Was slowly into stride after being crowded between runners on jumping. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
MIN MIN MAN – Shifted in on jumping crowding another runner.
CANHEDANCE – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Near the 800 metres was taken in by another runner which was inclined to hang in despite the efforts of its rider.
BOOM SHA LA – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
IDLE SITUATION – Near the 800 metres had to be restrained for a few strides when tightened by another runner which had improved to the inside of a further runner which was inclined to hang in despite the efforts of its rider.
MASTER DANNY – Was inclined to hang in near the 800 metres, despite the efforts of App M Kai, inconveniencing runners to its inside. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
Prior to the declaration of Correct Weight Stewards viewed patrol footage of the start to determine whether KING MAGNUSSON had been afforded a fair start. After viewing the footage , although conceding that the gelding had turned its head to the side in the barriers momentarily prior to the jump, Stewards were of the opinion that its head was straight when the barriers were released. Subsequently Correct Weight was declared.
Race 6: Innisfail Advocate Trainers Cup Benchmark 65 Handicap 1500 metres:
1st – SPIRITED SAINT 2nd – REGENCY ROYALE 3rd – BEG PARDON 4th – ROCHALLOR
As no other suitable rider was available Stewards permitted M Morris to replace App N A Yadi as the rider of BLANCHARD BLOOM.
SPIRITED SAINT – Was slowly away. Was inclined to over-race in the early and middle stages. Had to be restrained after improving onto heels near the 700 metres.
BLANCHARD BLOOM – Was slowly away.
ROAD FOX – Shifted in marginally when inclined to over-race near the 800 metres momentarily inconveniencing another runner. Jockey K Stone was instructed to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
BOBCAT – Was momentarily inconvenienced near the 800 metres when another runner which was inclined to over-race shifted in marginally.
BURT – Raced wide rounding the home turn.
Race 7: Coral Coast Financial Innisfail Cup Open Handicap 2000 metres:
1st – JUNEE BOY(NZ) 2nd – LEXCEN 3rd – ALDREN 4th – BLU AXIS
JUNEE BOY – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
BLOWIN’ YOUR MIND – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Was inclined to over-race in the early and middle stages. Was hampered near the 1600 metres when racing to the inside of other runners which were also over-racing.
FEISTY BELLE – Began awkwardly after making contact with the inside barrier upright. Shifted in when racing ungenerously near the 1500 metres crowding another runner.
ALDREN – Shifted out abruptly soon after the start crowding runners to its outside. Jockey M Abe was instructed to exercise more care in similar circumstances. Had to be restrained after improving onto heels near the 1200 metres.
BLU AXIS – Shifted in soon after the start crowding runners to its inside. Shifted in when racing ungenerously near the 1600 metres crowding a runner to its inside.
LEXCEN – Was inconvenienced soon after the start when crowded between runners. Near the 1400 metres shifted in marginally inconveniencing a runner to its inside. Jockey K Stone was reminded of his responsibilities under the provisions of AR137A(5) use of whip.
BARAMUL BULLET – Commenced to over-race near the 1600 metres causing tightening to several other runners despite the efforts of Jockey G Kliese.
KAMARAH – Raced ungenerously for a short distance near the 1600 metres when placed in restricted room to the inside of other runners which were inclined to over-race. Near the 1400 metres had to be restrained when a runner to its outside shifted in marginally.
BO ROSSA – Was hampered on two (2) occasions between the 1600 metres and the 1500 metres when placed in restricted room to the inside of other runners which were inclined to over-race.
