Supplementary Report: Townsville 21st November 2015
Race 2: Townsville Racing 19& 31 December Class 3 Plate 1000 metres:
Trainer Mr R Long reported that WICKED CRIME had pulled well since its disappointing performance and it was now his intention to continue with the colt’s preparation.

Race 6: Mater Health Services Open Handicap 1300 metres:
After considering the submissions tendered by trainer Mr S Massingham in relation to KING MAGNUSSON, Stewards ruled that following the gelding’s spell it must trial on two consecutive occasions prior to racing again and should it perform similarly in the future its nomination would be refused.


Race 1: Pease Park Management Class B Handicap 900 metres:
1st – PHANTOM SOX 2nd – BIG TOMEE 3rd – HIDDEN ABILITY 4th – FIVE STARS

DECLAN STYLE – Slow to begin.

HIDDEN ABILITY – Raced greenly in the middle stages and was inclined to lay out.

PENTHOUSE POPPY – Rounding the home turn got its head up when racing greenly and was inclined to lay out.

PHANTOM SOX – On return to scale jockey S Kaya reported that his mount hung out throughout the event.

Race 2: Radio 4KZ Maiden Plate 1100 metres:
1st – WILD DIVA 2nd – HAMUNAPTRA 3rd – LATEST EDITION 4th – KICK ‘EM BENNI

WIDGEE LAD – Stood flatfooted at the start and lost ground.

KICK ‘EM BENNI – Began awkwardly.

Jockey K Stone the rider of HAMUNAPTRA pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) in that passing the 1000m he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of WILD DIVA which had to be checked. Jockey K Stone’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence at midnight on Sunday 13th December 2015 up to and including Sunday 27th December 2015.

Race 3: Trans Nth Bus Service Class 2 Handicap 1200 metres:
1st – STARLIGHT BELLE 2nd – SCHNELLES PFERD 3rd – TRY ME DOL 4th – LEGENDARY PLUME

LEGENDARY PLUME – Began awkwardly and shifted out abruptly. Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.

ROAD FOX – Was bumped and carried wider shortly after the start. Raced wide throughout. Rounding the turn near the 800m was bumped and carried wider.

Apprentice N Nelson the rider of SAPODILLA pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) in that approaching the 1100m she allowed her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of BONNIE BON BON which was carried inwards and had to be checked when awkwardly placed on the heels of SCHNELLES PFERD. Apprentice N Nelson’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence immediately up to and including Thursday 17th December 2015.

SAPODILLA – Rounding the turn near the 800m hung out and carried other runners wider.

HEAD DRAGON – Rounding the turn near the 800m was buffeted between runners when the inside runner hung out.

Race 4: Racing Queensland Class 6 Plate 1200 metres:
1st – POPULAR BELIEF 2nd – STRICTLY MAGIC 3rd – INSIDE PAGE 4th – STANDFORD

STANDFORD – Was slow to begin.

ISADOR AMORE – Raced keenly in the middle stages.

Race 5: Merry Christmas From The ITC Class 3 Plate 1500 metres:
1st – ROCHALLOR 2nd – VENCEREMOS 3rd – DASH OF BLACK 4th – ONEEYED UNDERTAKER

CRESCENT GLOW – Was a late withdrawal at 12:55pm on veterinary advice when the mare was displaying signs of tying up.

RACING IN THE WIND – Underwent a veterinary examination after arriving at the barriers and was found to be lame in the off foreleg. Subsequently was a late withdrawal at 3:58pm and when correct weight was declared it was ordered that all bets placed on RACING IN THE WIND be refunded in full and all other successful bets placed on the race prior to 3:58pm be subject to the following deductions of 16c win and 18c place on the face value of the betting ticket. Trainer Mr F Weiland was told that prior to racing again he must furnish a veterinary certificate of fitness.

Apprentice N Nelson the rider of DASH OF BLACK pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) in that passing the 1200m she allowed her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of KING OF THEBES which had to be severely checked and lost the running to which it was entitled. Apprentice N Nelson’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence immediately up to and including Saturday 19th December 2015.

Shortly after straightening ONEEYED UNDERTAKER shifted in abruptly despite the efforts of its rider and made heavy contact with KING OF THEBES which became unbalanced and lost ground.

SHOT OF COURAGE – A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding which failed to respond to its rider’s urgings at any stage of the race and tailed off, did not reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer Mr S Potiris said that the gelding would now be spelled. Nevertheless he was advised that prior to racing again the gelding would have to perform competitively in a barrier trial.
