Gardner >Race 1: AUSTRALIAN BANANAS/HORTICOLTURE INNOVATIONS BENCHMARK 0- 55 HHCAP 1000M MUSTANG JACK Delayed the start when broke through the front of the barriers. After cantering some distance was examined by the veterinary surgeon and was cleared to start. Began awkwardly. ZAZAAR Delayed the start when broke through the front of the barriers. After being restrained after a short distance was examined by the veterinary surgeon and was cleared to start.. CRAIGLEA ALDI Began awkwardly. Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages and hung out near the 800m having to be steadied.. NEAR THE CITY Began awkwardly. ALL BAR LILLY Raced wide in the early stages of the race. FIVE STARS Raced wide in the stages of the race. WE FOUND IT Raced wide for the majority of the race. DUNNYYS STAR Raced wide for the majority of the race.. >Race 2: LYNDSAY AUST/COSTA BANANAS QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1200MM SOME SUNNYDAY Declared a late scratching at 2.04pm by order of Stewards after becoming very fractious in the barriers and dislodging rider P. Cullen and breaking through the barriers then jumping the outside running rail and escaping off course. After being recaptured a short time later was examined by the veterinary surgeon who reported lameness and lacerations to both hind legs and was treated for those injures. Trainer M. Young will be advised SOME SUNNYDAY must obtain two further consecutive barrier certificates before being permitted to race again.. MAROON CREEK Declared a late scratching at 2.04pm by order of Stewards after breaking through the front of the barriers riderless, and completing a circuit of the course. All runners were ordered to be returned to the enclosure due to rider P. Cullen (SOME SUNNYDAY) requiring ambulance attention and being transported to Innisfail Hospital for further observation. The start of the race was rescheduled to start at 2.50pm. All runners were examined by the veterinary surgeon prior to the start and were cleared to start. WATCH ME DAZZLE Was kicked by another runner whilst parading in the enclosure. Examined by the veterinary surgeon and was cleared to start.. LOOK FOR ROSIE Began awkwardly and lost ground. Finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer A. Payne will be inter viewed at a later date in regards to the mares disappointing performance. ALPINE MAGIC Slow into stride. LOVE RED Raced wide in the early stages. On the announcement of correct weight all monies invested on SOME SUNNYDAY and MAROON CREEK were ordered to be refunded with deductions of 35 cents in the dollar on the face value of all win bets and 29 cents in the dollar on the face value of all place bets to be applicable to all bets made prior to 2.04pm.. All remaining races were rescheduled as follows:Race 3 @ 3.20pm, Race 4 @ 3.55pm, Race 5 @ 4.30pm and Race 6 @ 4.55pm. As rider, P. Cullen was indisposed rider replacements were made as per Stewards summary. >Race 3: TROPICANA BANANA /MACKAYS MARKETING CLASS B HHCAP 1200MM SENORITA ROSITA Slow to begin. GRAVETTIAN Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early stages of the race. ROSE OF KALLONI Raced wide for the majority of the race. Race 4: LAMANNA PREMIER GROUP BENCHMARK 65 HHCAP 1200MM PERFECT TYCOON Slow to begin. Hampered near the 600m and again near the 300m when awkwardly placed on heels. Saddle shifted to the near side leaving the 300m resulting in rider J. Dickinson becoming awkward in the saddle and removing his near side foot from the stirrup iron and after passing the winning post became unbalanced and was dislodged. J. Dickinson was treated by the ambulance officers on course before being transported to Innisfail Hospital for further observation. BON TEMPS Slow to begin. SHOWMORE Raced wide for the majority of the race.. LOCKUM Slow to begin. As rider, J. Dickinson was indisposed rider replacements were made as per Stewards summary. Race 5: DELUCA BANANA MARKETING/VISY BOXES BENCHMARK 55 H'CAP 1500MM The start of this race was delayed due to the incident out of Race 4. ISLAND BAR Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early and middle stages. THE PRINCIPAL Slow into stride.. Race 6: NUTRANO PRODUCE CUP OPEN HHCAP 1800MM The start of this race was delayed due to a member of the public requiring ambulance attention. STANDFORD Slow to begin. Over-raced in early stages. Shifted wider leaving the 700m and raced wide from that point onwards. RAMSDEN STREET Began awkwardly. GUNGA GALUNGA Over-raced in the early stages. DEVASTATING RHYTHM Raced wide for the majority of the race. ELEMENT OF CHANCE Collapsed returning to scale. A veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have suffered a massive heart attack. Acting under AR142, Stewards declared correct without rider M. Kai weighing in after being satisfied the gelding had carried its correct weight..
